- The Marylebone Cricket Club has suspended three members after an altercation with the Australian cricket team at Lord’s on the final day of the second Ashes Test.

The club had earlier “unreservedly apologised” over the behaviour of some of its members in the Long Room after the touring side alleged several players were “verbally abused” or “physically contacted” as they returned to the dressing room at lunch.
Shortly before the interval, with England on 193 and chasing a distant 371, the England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow had been controversially dismissed in a long-range stumping from Alex Carey.
The batter left his ground in the belief that an over had been concluded, having allowed a bouncer to pass through to the Australian wicketkeeper, who then threw the ball at the stumps while Bairstow was out of his ground.
Though there was no doubting Bairstow was out under the laws of the game, there was widespread feeling around Lord’s that it was not in the spirit.
Australia went on to win the Test by 43 runs, taking a 2-0 lead in the five-match series

The funny thing is the mcc wrote the rules 😂
It Mankad is so dishonourable shouldn’t they just outlaw it? Like Bodyline?
England have done this to Australia too. If it were an Australian wicket had fallen the Poms would be like ‘Sorry old boy it’s in the rules’.
At least, you agree that this shouldn't be done.
Trevor Chapel underarm style again 😂
Exactly all England had ever done is been a big crying baby
so we wont mention SANDPAPER GATE then, hey Bruce ? 🤣
@@philiproscoe2968you certainly can and I'll point out English cheating by doctoring the ball with mints or dirt. You really are the most despicable hypocrites.
Just so i got this straight....
Stumping someone while the balls still in play is wrong?
But scoring 7 runs off a 6 to win the world cup against New Zealand is okay?
Interesting morality the british have there stokes!
British and Morality!!!!!!! Hah! Read their history of colonialism. Google 'The Bengal Famine'.

Lol @ their morality 😂
and we wont mention ANYTHING about sand paper, hey mate ?
@@Hellokinni Australia never forgets being used as cannon fodder at Gallipoli. Never.
Well done Aussie wicket keeper, The ball is not dead at all. He collected and thrown at the stumps immediately. What's the rush to talk Shaw ?
English keeper should have known better about protecting his own wicket.
@@TheWaynos73: Ahhhh! The classic and apropos one-liner of relevance. Well done. Bairstow is a wicketkeeper:
Oh, so ironic!
The behavior of these members, shocking like football hooligans, they should be named and shamed publicly
That’s out, fair and simple
Shame ....what u know about cricket....
@@hasanreza9779 You obviously don't know the rules....
Yeah that’s out. Even as a school kid we get told to stay inside the crease. The only time you can wander and chat with the batsman is when the ball is dead changing ends at the end of the over or drinks or if the ball has been hit over the boundary. As the ball is dead and no further runs can be made until the bowler delivers he ball
Yawn .
@@russellmathews3599Go to bed mate, your mums waiting for you.
Shows how much you know about the laws when you say "changing ends at end of over".
@@DelTangBrav: He means the bowlers change ends.
And they tell the young players not to complain. What an poor example. They need to be kicked out.
Hope the MCC has some backbone.
Hello cricket enthousiasts. This is what happens when you beat Brits at British sports. They throw a tantrum. Greetings from an F1 fan who's had to deal with British press slandering any driver that's not British.
English mate
so we wont mention SANDPAPER GATE then, hey Bruce ? 🤣
@@philiproscoe2968 that was like 5 years ago now and it wasn't even against England
@@ahmedrahim2500 so does that make it right and allow Ozzies to get all "holier than tho," this time ? This could affect the whole game of cricket, not just Eng and Oz. Lets see if any other national teams like Carey's trick and adopt it themselves as a mark of support for it ?
give us an example then of "British" press slandering a non-British driver unfairly ? Usual lefty emotional tripe, with no basis other than to appeal to OTHER non-thinking individuals.
You are a slow developer I bet, coz crying is much easier than learning.
it's bad sportsmanship on Englands part verbally abusing the Aussie cricket team after a fair play... This reaction from the English team is completely out of line
I competely expect it from a bunch of whiney whingers.
Complaining about rules they came up with for a game that they invented.
Typical English
How so?
Didn't the Australians start the whole concept of "sledging"?
@@archvaldor no.

He caught the ball and threw it at the same moment. He didn't wait. It was OUT. English cricket fans are insufferable.

@@philiproscoe2968No don't even mention that incident where the Australian captain ordered his bowler to bowl underarm do deny their opponents the chance of hitting a six to win the match. Even fair minded members of the Australian team thought it a deplorable action.
I dont get that the fuss is about. It was Bairstow who made the mistake and not Australia. If you want the wicket to be taken back, why not also give world cup to NZ.? Did you take back the boundary Mr Stokes? No.
,,, more asinine is winning a major championship just because you hit more boundaries
It's in the rules. I get it's a bit cheap, but the batsman should have known the consequences.
It is not cheap. The ball is not dead. It is careless batting.
That's a legit stumping any time of the day.
It’s clearly Out, why’s Bairstow was mucking around?
First up, a disclaimer - I'm a neutral Indian 😂
On the dismissal, it is definitely out, no question. But after seeing the replay, the Oz captain should've recalled JB or at least warned him before the actual run-out.
But here's my take on this particular incident - JB walked towards the other end without looking back. Let's assume the WK didn't collect cleanly, opening up a chance for a quick bye. With an alert BS already on the move, JB's few steps out would've given him an unfair advantage in completing a tight stolen bye. Would England have minded that?!!!
Valid point.
Bairstow tried it on day 3 against the Aussies. The whinging Poms are in full flight.
These old men are disgraceful and should all be thrown out. The young MCC players are so much more respectful. It was out.
I agree, Limnac 2717: I'd like to come to the Lord's Cathedral for British dignity, not to be verbally run down by football-type hooligans and a T-20 third-world pajama-clad cricket crowd.
OK so now I finally understood what whinging is .. by grown ups!
Grown ups whinge more than kids. 😅
Never has the description whinging poms been more accurate
so we wont mention SANDPAPER GATE then, hey Bruce ? 🤣
The abuse in that Lords longroom was wild, a bit like walking out to bat against Ponting era Aussies 😂

ODI World cup 2019. Where is the spirit of game?
Thats a clear out..no doubt
I don't play cricket much but that's 10000% out.
Look up the Sammy Jones run out by WG Grace way back in 1882. That was what sparked the anger that inspired Australia to their first victory over England on English soil & thus The Ashes was born. Ironic how it was a cheeky fielding moment to dismiss a batsman who's back was turned. And now all these years later.
Its out
Reminds me of the situation where Indian team called back Ian Bell. But Australian team could 👎 do that
Why ?

Shows that wearing a suit doesn't give you class. Bairstow as a keeper should know better to wait till the ball is dead. And it's totally unacceptable for the crowd to act like a mob
England are just looking for excuses
When you can sneak in a cheeky middle finger without fuss, you know people are annoyed over the issue. LOL! 🤣
Gentlemen, be seated
What does the rule book say?
Umpire must call over to cause the ball to be out of play. The umpire did not call over and the ball remained in motion as the batsman left the crease and the bails were struck. As fair as the rulebook says its out
Refer to etiquette my boy ..... etiquette
It's out. Ball was still in play as the keeper collected it. Rookie error going walkabout like that.
Cummings black eye from stokes before the interview
I saw the punch . Cummings ran away after .....
Is that the english definition of fair play ?
At what point does the ball become 'dead ball'??
And it’s only 1 wicket, geez what a bunch of crybabies.

Lol
Penal Colony Aussie
Are there any rules that forbid these toffee noses from verbally abusing the aussie players? Did anyone break the law? If not, why is anyone complaining? It's all about rules now, if no rules were broken, then their conduct was perfectly 'fair', to use Cummins' word concerning Carey's stumping.
What would you like to have with that whine?
this is all from the UK being so bad at sport.. there is far to much inbreeding on that island
Someones a bit mad, there's a difference between "fair" and just straight up abuse champ

Well that seems out.
Remember how England won the World Cup..
At the end of the day we are all speaking English so who’s the real winner here
Big boys match turned out to be silly
The World Cup was won over his controversial bat deflection so fair game Benjamin
Make the rules simple and straightforward so that they are not abused, and a fair contest is not ruined.Get rid of rules that don't make sense. A stumping occurs only when the batsman *does not have control of the crease * at the point of time when the keeper has gathered the ball. If the batsman is out of the crease when the keeper has gathered the ball, and can't even get a toe back in behind the crease before the keeper takes the bails off then the batsman is out. In this case, what an umpire tries to decide is 'who had control of the crease the keeper or the batsman ?'. The batsman is clearly not in control of the crease. But if he has his toe in when the keeper or even a fielder gets the ball, and he has control of the crease, then he is not out. If he is out of the crease because he tries to take a run, then he is out. NOT OTHERWISE in any other circumstance. Players and teams can be expected to bend and break rules. It is impossible to make rules for every situation, but everything that can possibly happen in cricket has happened by now.Captains, keepers and fielders should not be allowed to influence decisions on the field. A crook cannot be a cop.
That's out as out can be. Let the poms whinge. They whinge all the time anyway
If The ball escapes wk gloves to reach boundary, Eng would hv taken the byes. Remember tony gregs controversial run out
And they wonder why we call em' whinging poms..... 🏏 😢
England would have done the same 🤣🤣🤣🤣 stop crying
😂😂 Whinging poms pumped again
Which finger is he resting on his cheek while complaining about being bad at cricket??
It was out for sure Bairstow should've known better!!! Ironic the only Aussie to rebuke the abuse was a guy born in Pakistan Tomorrow he will be ranting racist abuse!!!
Haha, it's so funny watching English elite and lords in their thousand pound coats and hats, booing and behaving like football hooligans. Disclaimer. I'm not English or an Aussie or even a big cricket fan. Watching from Germany as an Indian origin.
Is this simply one wicket-keeper educating another wicket-keeper?
No sticking middle finger Stokes
Definitely an out. Stop whinging 😡😡😡

Wait for the umpire to announce dead ball every ball. And over at the end of the over. 60 over days here we come.
He tapped back, umpire was disrobing. It's dead.
Any better/worse than mankad given the non-striker is at least gaining an advantage with mankad?
I don't blame the aussies. The rules are the problem. Either anything goes without spirit or make the rules fit the spirit. Right now it does neither.
