I definitely prefer b which I think is the real one. I find that real tube amps have more distortion on the low end and cleaner highs than most modeling amps which is perfect to me.
The first one to me sounded a bit better. Had more bite and clarity, an overall meaner sound... So I'm guessing it's the Fractal and B is the real amp. I don't know how they did it but Fractal models consistently sound even better to me than real amps do :P. Great video comparison btw!
I’m trying not to read other comments…the last part of B at the end sounded very crispy on the top end and little bit thin. “A” was a bit more full with less of the HF hash, but having stood in front of rectos and been “rectified” many times, I know the real deal can have hash on the top end with V30s….I used a 4x12 with 2 greenbacks and 2 v30s…..both A and B sound excellent so I really don’t know which is which…I could easily use both sounds as other have mentioned, but a I would use the real deal…..I’ve always been able to setup my Recto for something I like 😅
I understood that B is a real amplifier because you hear the distortion less. I have Both a simulator and an amplifier. The amplifier always has less accompanying noise.
@thetonezone2676 Both sounds great to be honest. Being A the Fractal it could be even closer with some tweaking so great result! Do you mind sharing the preset? I would like give it a try.
A has a lot more high frequency clarity (to use colloquial terms, it sounds more "open"), while B sounds smaller and boxier. I prefer the sound of A, but I won't make any guesses as to which is real and which is the Axe FX.
I think, A is real amp. But that is the first test with Dual Rectifier and Axe Fx in which I can't choose assuredly. I used to determine blindly correctly. I hope I guessed right again. So, A is real amp?
you can only feel the real quality of a tube amp in person, its not about how it sounds recorded, its about the organic feel, the PUNCH that feels someone is beating your chest with a hammer
In any case, this is not the measure. An amplifier that is truly an experience is standing in front of a cabinet. You will not find a substitute for that.
I understand what you are saying and I agree with you.... But this video isn't about "how does a cabinet feel when played through an axe fx vs the real amp."
@@the-tone-zone It is intresting thing. Almost always on real amps i hear characteristic organic whole comparing with various modelers, but on this clip the things are switched places
@@alexmortar Sometimes its hard to tell with modellers thats somewhat why I have created this series of videos - everything is subjective though. Definitely more an organic type sound isn't it, thanks for the comment man!
Thanks for the profile. Got this running through an ISP stealth into a Mesa OS and it sounds killer.
Happy to help if I have!!

It's crazy, isn't it? Thanks for the feedback! JP2C Vs Mark IV video coming shortly 👍🤘
Both great, i'll say B is the Fractal.. I could be wrong, i just bought an AXE FX III today and man it's a beast!
A was slightly preferred for me but I think that's down to settings. Would happily record with either of those sounds.
I’m saying B is the Boogie
These are very close but there's something a little warmer and crunchier abour B. I assum that's the real amp, though the Fractal gets really close.
Correct 👍😁
B is the Mesa I think. They both sound great.

A stands for Axe FX
B stands for Boogie
;)
The modeler is always the tighter clearer sounding one.
Great video. Straight to the point and a very well done shoot out!
Thanks for your support. Few more coming soon!!

B = Real amp 😊
@@the-tone-zone Oh no!! How could I be wrong!?
@@theVasica it's a credit to where technology has gone these days. I'm still a tube amp lover though 😁
I preferred the tone of amp A, but both sounded really good! \m/
I have the FM3, can you send me a screenshot? I think I’ll have to manually build the preset.

@@renosaltiel4171 I think it's the reference of "moving air" that is tbe common phrase, but yes I agree with you.
@@the-tone-zone yeah thats what i meant. btw i love both, i have a dual recto and will buy a fractal next year
@renosaltiel4171 fractal is so convenient. But I still like all my tube amps being around!
Did you post the Fractal preset anywhere for download?
I'll share it somewhere shortly. And I will link you

pretty close! B sounds a bit more saturated and with more low end.
Might be the power section kicking in for the B sample ;)
What settings did u use on the axe fx
If you'd like to send me a direct message on my instagram in can give you the patch @the.tone.zone
B is the real one.
I have no idea they both sounded exactly the same
B is more natural sounding, its the real deal
In any case, this is not the measure.

B souns likw the Axe fx 2
B is the amp
B was the real one, I guess...
A has more gain though... I don't know...
A sounded like the real amp
A real b profile
Other way around! A: Axe FX 3 B: Dual Rectifier 😜
A is the real amp
demo is too short.
B - real
B real amp
a has flubby low end b a bit gdifgital
A = Digital B = Tube Amp :)
b is real amp.. maybe.
B
A is amp
I think A is real amp
Incorrect! Good try though. Sometimes hard to distinguish 🤘😁

2 thousand dollar amp...with a 5 dollar circuit in front for tone? why?
Oh, VERY sorry that I don't own a Klon....
Why? Why do the same dumb questions need to be asked year after year when the answer was given 30-40 years ago.
B is better
honestly get same sounds or better with kemper
That's the beauty of interpretation and everyone having a different set of ears. I love the kemper stuff as well but never owned one.
B has more low end and sounds a little thicker
At first I thought you were going to play Ratt you think you're tough. In my opinion rectifiers are just terrible sounding amps.
