H/H match update for episode 1413: ... ~~~Today's action: Our champion was spun off as the prior episode ended. He'd won two games and $3,200. So we begin today with our new champion's debut Super-Match. *Today's (first) audience match question: "________Me In"* My thoughts: (Fill, Count, Deal) The celebs: Brett (Fill), Richard (Count), Donna via Brett (Let) The choice: Count The answers: Tuck, Count, Let - Kudos to Brett and Donna for suggesting the top answer in third position. Our new champ scores $250 in her first audience match, and, thanks to the wheel, she can now win $5,000 if she can match Charles. Stats: Charles has matched 19 of his 39 most recent attempts (48.7%), and 43 of 88 attempts overall (48.9%). This is now his 89th H/H question. Charles also holds another interesting record: He answered 7 consecutive H/H questions in episodes 707-713, which is the record for anyone not named Richard Dawson. And of course, that record is pretty safe, since with the wheel, it's highly unlikely anyone will get a streak like that, although we have seen 3 in a row (Bart Braverman, 1401-1402). *Today's H/H question: "Sporting_______"* (My first thought was Sporting "Goods," quickly following by Sporting "Chance." I'll stick with my first thought today.) It looks like Charles is writing immediately. The champ grins and nods. The champ is ready and confidently gives the same answer I selected. And once again, the crowd goes wild! Another match? Charles has a look of disappointment, but something feels stagy about it. (Maybe he's channeling Patty Duke?) Yes, indeed, Charles was ACTING! Apparently the other contender was "Life," but Charles wrote "Goods"! Charles scores his 44th H/H match! ~~~~~ A refreshingly offbeat challenger is introduced and Gene spends a long time interviewing her (among other things, she gets to punch him in the gut and explain why she didn't tuck her "men's" shirt in - she "didn't want to"), and then Daryl and Charles swap glasses (strangely, they both look better with the other's frames). But we still got a full game in! And our champion pulls off her second win. *Today's (second) audience match question: "The Wet________"* My thoughts: (Look, Blanket, Paint) The celebs: Charles (Look), Richard (Blanket), Brett (Ones) The choice: Look The answers: Look (I'm disappointed it wasn't higher), One, Blanket Our champ scores another $100, but her second H/H is postponed until next time. ~~~Until then, here's our updated leader board showing the 13 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: (An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she or he has "retired" from the show and their H/H stats are now complete.) (For tied scores, the one with the greater number of matches is considered to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.) Orson Bean - 100% (4 matches in 4 attempts). (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 matches in 4 attempts). Joyce Bulifant - 66.7% (4 matches in 6 attempts). (*)Debralee Scott - 66.7% (4 matches in 6 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 50.0% (6 matches in 12 attempts). Elaine Joyce - 50.0% (3 matches in 6 attempts). Charles - 49.4% (44 matches in 89 attempts). Fannie - 47.7% (21 matches in 44 attempts). Betty - 47.1% (24 matches in 51 attempts). (*)Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 matches in 18 attempts). (*)Richard - 42.5% (373 matches in 878 attempts). Brett - 39.8% (41 matches in 103 attempts). (*)Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 matches in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 1413, excluding the missing/damaged/unavailable episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, 645, 910, 1024, 1025, 1026, 1027, 1028, 1029, and 1030. (Note: episode 849 was never produced.) These stats do, however, include the H/H results of missing episode 968 as those results were revealed in episode 969. There was no H/H in missing episode 1035, as we learn in 1036. These stats do, however, include results of episodes 1309 through 1317, found on channels other than this one. (For missing episode 1406, the results of the second H/H have been revealed and are included in these stats, but it's unknown which celeb played the first H/H, which was not a match.)
Good Job Charles, Brett gave better answers to Donna than she gave herself..Dress Up Poker should have been a Match...At any rate,,, Will always be enjoying these Great Episodes,, I now have an Addiction!!!
Good ole Gene, showing his true chauvinistic colors again with the contestants. This one is the lady with the suit jacket on. You could tell from the second Gene walked up he starts looking her up and down and gets this certain attitude with her because she's wearing a suit jacket. In his little mind, only men should wear suit jackets and he did the whole little interview and finally at the end of it, he couldn't hold it back anymore and he had to lean over the table and say something about the way she was dressed. He only shows his ignorance, that old Dinosaur.
I was hoping that Charles would say sporting goods, never heard the term sporting life, my second choice woulda been sporting chance. I really thought I'd get at least ONE match if Cupid carried a sword. I knew the wet look was a thing back in the 60s but didn't think anyone from 79 would think of it
Sporting Life was an outdoors magazine. Glossy cover, rugged mountain shots that you might find in a doctor's office. Charles might have seen it at his Dentist's office. LoL.
Daryl's glasses really suit Charles!

I would have liked to have seen Don’t Fence Me In for the five hundred dollar response.
Yeah me too. Old folks like them, I’m surprised nobody even mentioned it.🧐
78' was the best for diverse and crazy answers IMO.
Cupid carries ... a shank
She was so shy, she played a game of Blind Man's Bluff (to not see the naked bodies).

A man's shirt, Charles Nelson Reilly and Anita Bryant.. very confusion trying to match those icons..
I’ll give you one guess as to the answer to that riddle.🤓
Flying the Pride Flag!
Did they know that the show was coming to an end at this point?
What about “Don’t fence me in”?🤔
I thought hide and seek for the shy sheila one.
How is putting it on poker not a match with cards?
Love this Match Game 79! Wonderful win Charles!
Brett half-loaded again.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Grow Up!! (but then again, at this stage in the game, it might be too late)
@@kristabrewer6736She liked a cocktail, nothing wrong with that, why do you have such a complex about Brett? She was far from perfect. Grow up!
Why does Jenna remind me of Vicki Lawrence? 🤔
The gums.
She seems very contemporary for 1979, quite different from the typical contestant (in a good way).
For those wondering about Brett's answer of "Kate Millett"...en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kate_Millett
I couldn't care less about that old hags answers. Waste of space.
the only good answer was "the wet look", because of "the".
She got disqualified because she said the person she most admired was herself
Bye!😁
scary contestant...
Gene probably went away for a week to dry out.
The lady contestant was weird and Gene was acting weirder.
Nope Gene didn't drink. He said multiple times that he had a rotten liver.
Patty’s a babe.
Ewww
I really don’t think that PATTY was funny at all with that answer. What is wrong with these people? They all act like idiots.
We do not find the BLOB funny at all
