You really are. He killed not only his entire race, but also blew up his planet. Not to mention he beat the shit out the the Leviathan (Not Calus’ ship, the one that imprisoned the worm gods)
Definitely. When the music ramps up and unleash your Super and then the gunfire, freaking epic. Bungie knows how to capture that "Hero" or "Rising" moment in my opinion.
I have not played this game, but I still love everything about this boss. His attacks, his design, his weapon, even his damn walking animation. Just everything about this guy seems so badass but also very composed.
I’m thinking that every pyramid houses a disciple, and I’m also guessing that each pyramid is a specie that the witness saved to gain their loyalty. rhulk was already powerful but the fact that there are even more powerful beings than him is scary to think about
@@roberttheronin9803 I think most are controlled by the witness with his true disciples like Rhulk getting their own. I also think that in there aren't many true disciples as the only one we've seen is Rhulk.
Nah he's an arrogant prick. He's pretty much toying with you the entire time, only on the final stand he gets serious, which is why he kills you in like 30 seconds, but by that time you've done too much damage and it's over for him.
really wanna see the speed and frequency of his attacks get increased in master mode. this type of boss is ripe for difficulty scaling without just increasing damage and health like most things
Congrats man on the clear me and my friends unfortunately made it to final boss and had to call it quits because he was slaughtering us but we were very happy to experience this raid day 1 and make it to final boss
Love that final stand with the music. Wish he did a roar like he does when its DPS. The way he raises his glaive and the darkness energy just pouring out of him was amazing! And then the Pervading Darkness and how fast it stacks just makes it that much more badass.
First off, awesome video. I love watching my husband play this raid but it's so different to watch it without all the background noise and commentary. I could really focus on the music and sound effects. Second off, thanks for taking the time (and risk) getting some close ups of Rhulk. I enjoy seeing character aesthetic as I know people worked hard to create him. Idk if this was intentional or not but either way it was appreciated.
No problem! That's why I only upload no commentary runs because I know there are lots of people who enjoy them. And no being close to Rhulk wasn't really intentional tbh but it must happen because the area where you get to where the damage phases happen is too small. And thank you I really appreciate comments like yours :)
Savathun was a badass, she was able to subdue Rhulk by exploiting his arrogance and also countering the Upended. And just like her, we used Rhulk's arrogance against him and defeated him once and for all. People say we might loose to the Witness, but hey, if Savathun and us can stop his most powerful agent, he's going to be all alone.
He's probably not gonna be alone. He went into the Traveler with a bunch of pyramid ships, we at least know about the subjugators so there could be a disciple there too.
@@jimmysuros6302The Witness is in a plane of existence outside of the physical world. He can’t do certain things so he needs his disciples to do it for him.
GGs man. My team got stuck on caretaker for a while and we had to tap out but we beat the first encounter which is the first time our clan has ever beaten a day 1 raid encounter so I'm still proud of the effort lol.
My fireteam somehow made it to the final encounter (After the CBT that was the third encounter), we gave it a try, but we lacked the damage. Still so damn proud of my team for toughing through the pain to that point, it's a damn fine feeling making it so far. Good stuff on you and your boys making it passed the first encounter c:
I think Rhulk’s power (luster) will be the final dark subclass ngl. Continuing darkness subclass being the opposite of the light one, stasis is solar, strand is arc, and luster is void
i would main luster no matter if it's bad if it looks as good as rhulk's attacks also i think that that golden-yellow-orange color would look good on the ability icons too
I’m watching this to prepare for the final raid this upcoming Friday. Bungie did EVERYTHING right with this raid boss. We can only hope they nail this next one, but I am optimistic and I believe we’re gonna get an amazing final raid

After seeing powers of both the light and darkness, it seems the light is overflowing, out of control, while the powers of darkness is fluid and never ending like with the taken you may take out 1, 2, 5, 10, even 100 but they can be replaced just as easy, even look at rhulk beams they look fluid when they blast.
I'm sad I can't raid because when I'm online, none of my clan mates are online and when I'm offline they get online. I also don't have a mic and everyone is saying that the mic is required. But I'm happy you guys successfully took down the boss in day 1.
Mic is prefered, but I've always raided with my clan and I never used mic, I have done Vault of Glass, Deep Stone Crypt, Last Wish, Garden Of Salvation and Vote of the Disciple, you can get away with 1 no mic, tho you can have 2 no mics on VoG, and even though Queenswalk was kinda tricky, my idea was to tbag when I had the heart and needed a timer extension, and when I was the last racer, they did counting for me, I have also taken some roles in the raid, so I'm not always that "clear ads" guy just because I don't have a mic
I was a day 1 destiny 1 player but dropped out some time after taken king. I really want to get back into the game after having seen how great the story progressed. I am afraid though that I will get addicted to the game. What are your experiences?
I really recommend you get back into the game. My experiences? I'm having a blast tbh, except for this season. It's a bit dry and boring but it has some of the best weapons so we have to grind for them.
As someone whose strictly plays D2 for the seasonal content now & days, I just want to say that I always look forward to videos like these. Sure. I’ve been missing out on stasis, exotics & the raiding experience since BL, but I’ve been enjoying the game without them. Especially with all the other games I’ve been playing for awhile now.
Random theory question… if the witch queen was the god of cunning & trickery. Do you think part of her plan of bringing the travelor to her thrown world was so that the guardians would defeat Rhulk? Her ghost survived so savathun could always now he revived & head back to her thrown world without Rhulk holding the hive worm gods as basically his pets?
Yeah the theme is good in the sense the longer it plays on the more it starts to progress sad we never get to hear it anymore tho due to it being an easy 2 phase

Its been said a million times but imo this is the best raid boss. The music, the atmosphere, its all perfection.
The sounds of gunfire, Supers, divinity, the boss and his kamehamehas with the music is among one of the hypest moments in Destiny on god

Lamenting my failure. After 36 hours of uninterrupted consciousness, this fight felt more difficult than it actually was on contest.
My favorite part about rhulk is that he is so well spoken, but roars like a demon

A mic helps but as long as everyone knows what to do, especially if you’re the only person without a mic it’ll be fine

That's a really good question but idk much about Destiny's lore, why would she want guardians to defeat Rhulk?
