The drums, I swear to god, nothing in the game up until this point made me feel/acknowledge how power creep hit us lore wise, but those drums alone made me feel so much emotion alone. It really instilled the sentiment of who we were dealing with, he didn't need no big introduction, he was the Witness's Right-hand man, the one who made the Hive, who we had struggled against for so long.
It is well known that the ONLY reason we defeated Rhulk in the first place is because of his ego. he could have taken us out as soon as we stepped foot in that pyramid. dude had a chip on his shoulder so big it blocked an obvious threat(and it was glowing so we shot at it hehe).
By far destinys greatest boss. Going from a composed wielder of darkness to an unrelentless monster during dps. Sent shivers when he roared while going into dps
I still prefer riven as a boss without the cheese but rhulks 100% up there. First raid boss that actually fights back during the dps as we aren’t stunning him or delaying a wipe he’s invited us to the top to deal with us personally until he can remake the shield
rhulk was also set up a lot better then most raid bosses, he remained a big mystery clear up to the raid race, these are disciples of the most powerful being in universe. fitting the first one we see was a raid boss
First raid boss to actually fight back during the dps and not just stand there. One of the best things they have done to a raid in years. It was also fitting the strongest enemy we’ve faced was the one who was first to do it. Rhulks dps isn’t stun him shoot him till it’s over. We have to take down his shield then he invites us to the top of his domain to fight us personally
The Drums were so damn powerful, I can never forget how they opened my eyes to really acknowledge who we were dealing with when I first completed the raid. sucked that it couldnt be day one though, we had dc's for 6-7 hours from the launch.
@@adamboy0559I wouldn’t say they all need to be that way. The juxtaposition of Scourge’s intro followed by the maze and race was cool, those are totally different paces. But I did like the urgency of encounter 3 quite a bit, nothing else really makes you adapt like that.
The High Action section of this track has to be one of the best pieces of music they've ever composed. I can't think of any other music in Destiny, or even video games in general that gets you hyped up with a sense of dread in the final round with the boss.
@@bepisaxe4464theoretically he could have killed us in seconds if he actually tried and took us seriously as a threat. He seen lightbarers as weak and pawns not releasing he’s definitely strong but at the same times he’s the pawn being used to enact a frozen universe

Riven legit is still better but only by a smidge, Rhulk is very, very good I agree
"My blood spilled! Bravo!"
Freaking amazing fight through and through. It always gives me chills moving into DPS
The first boss who actually fought back as well. He didn’t just stand still and let us damage him he actively hunts us down

The drums in this track are so clean. Taking rhulk out on day 1 was pretty fun with how mobile he is and how much flair they gave his attacks.

rhulk is by far one of the best raid bosses of all time

Riven phase 2 has the dread sounding part then phase 2 has the more triumphant part
"Thrilled to pick my teeth with your bones, little ones."
I'd be glad for Rhulk to use my body as dental floss.
"Don't worry, I won't kill you. I'll just stuff you with my worm friends instead!"

Rhulk's 21 minions came here to dislike this
Call me crazy, but something tells me that Rhulk was the original final boss of Vanilla D2.
Imagine if they had fit him into the Season of Arrivals end of season event as THE final boss of Pre- Beyond Light Destiny?
Rhulk was never the vanilla d2 final boss. It was always going to be ghaul to set in place the events to have rhulk in wq
You're crazy.
There is no way Rhulk was planned six years in advance and NO director used him unlike Nokris, Xol, the Black Fleet, Eramis, etc.
Fun fact: Absolutely nowhere in the entire game of Destiny is Rhulk ever referred to as The First Disciple. It's some real mandala effect stuff going on here.
Yeah but his song is called the first disciple
We can infer from the lore he was the first chronologically. Rather than looking for other clues, we can simply apply Occams Razor.
