Nice to see other pit builders using stick to weld their builds! A little suggestion if I may, on your top rib racks you may want to weld a stop to the top of the side rail to hold the rack straight and keep it from teetering downwards, spilling the contents. Great build guys!
wow!!! incredible!!!! What a beauty!!!! Looks like the rib rack was a little high, and possibly add a circular air inlet at the height of the bottom of the wood. Y'all are truly blessed!
As an ironworker, this is heaven for me. You earned my subscription and like. You also inspired me to do my own. Thanks for sharing and much love to the family bond.
Excellent work!! Last year I restored a pit my uncle gave me. Built a firebox for it and did some patch repairs on the barrel. Grant it, I did it by myself as I live states away from my folks, but I really enjoy seeing father and son bonding and working together; reminds me of my grandfather, uncle and I when I was younger. And great welds!!! Well done all around!
You guys are the ultimate professionals, your skills are extraordinary, love it, love it love it and Father & son, brings a tear to my eye. Thank you so much for sharing.
Awesome job Guys, Nice smoker. Only thing I can say to help is , should try a mig welder. No slag to deal with but a real nice smoker , Like the design!
Thank you for using the old tombstone, most of the new welders are sold a high priced multi function machine and when most of them stop welding its just sitting there. Awesome father son well spent...Congrats on your skill and I salute your father for putting that craftsman in you. Nice build.
Very awesome video, great build!!! Best part about this video is you building it with your father!!! Me and my dad have done many projects together! Nothing better that passing on his knowledge, enjoying time together and making young generations productive!!!! Would watch many more of these types of videos
I really enjoyed watching this video. I like how you made that (diy) door hinge and the way you welded it on before cutting the door out. Brilliant work guys.
The build looks to be well done. It would be helpful to have dimensions added to your explanations. Such as, how did you determine the size of the fire box opening into the tank, as well as the size of the hole to the smoke chamber. By the way....I agree with the comments about you working with your Dad.
Awesome to work on projects with dad...you guys did a great job, a lot of work wow! Great looking smoker liked the wagon pulling system 😅 nice👍 might try that some day..
Looks really nice. The main thing I would change is the grease drain maybe should be straight down. I know you were thinking about having it drain out the back, but it's probably going to get clogged and it will be more difficult to clean it out with the angle.
I love this build. Did you ever think about putting the pull around handle on a hinge welded to the bottom edge of the barrel so when not using it just swings down out of the way and easy to retrieve.
You guys do great work good to see father and son working together. But for the cost I would like to see the pull handle not just laying on the ground....every thing else is top notch work 👍👍👍👍
Love the project, going to try the same build with my sons, I'm in Australia, any chance you could supply the instructions roughly, I'll do the conversions to metric
Great looking smoker. I'm new to smoking and I working with a Char-Griller now,but I will be upgrading here soon. Love your content and enjoyed your video and did sub to yall. Great job fellows
Nice smoker, guys! One suggestion - I would bring the front wooden shelf down a bit and make the cooking chamber door handle pointing down, otherwise you burn the inside of your wrist every time, you open the door. Also not sure how the long and curved grease drain would be in the time, I guess it will clog. But you can heat it with the torch and it should be ok. I personally preffer the straight ones.
On the back axle it needs a grease zerk installed, I have one my dad built and it has rusted and locked the axle, also was always hard to turn because the axle is live and and both roll together and turning sharp was never fun when it was first built.
I like the father son bond. We need more of that in this world
You did a great job Dad, raising and teaching your son to be such a smart, hard working, go-getter. Nice work!!
I was close $3,500 to $4,000 good job guys that's quality work👍

i agree about the stops. Easier to load the rack also. Makes it so you can slide the rack out and load up them ribs. 😊
What's the advantage of stick welding?
@@bastroprealestate Its cheap but makes really dirty welds as you see in this video. MIG wire welds are much cleaner and produce better looking welds.
wow!!! incredible!!!! What a beauty!!!! Looks like the rib rack was a little high, and possibly add a circular air inlet at the height of the bottom of the wood. Y'all are truly blessed!
A Father and Son project, truly inspiring! Well done

Let’s just say that it is a good thing my livelyhood doesn’t depend on me welding stuff. Impressive to me to do it with stick. Nice build!

Solid man!! 💪 America! 😎♥️🙏🏼
I love this build. Did you ever think about putting the pull around handle on a hinge welded to the bottom edge of the barrel so when not using it just swings down out of the way and easy to retrieve.
Didn’t think about that, I’m gonna have to use it on another build!
I watched other videos, but, yall got it down to a science.
Just watched this build, awesome design and build. Where does someone buy a piece of steel pipe that large?
Beautiful work
Thank you!

That's a nice pit, my father and I build smokers 2gether also, making memories, WTG...👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Nice work! Could you make the pull trolly handle retractable? I know I wold trip over it all day long.

Great job!!! Looking to eventually build one myself..
I subscribed! Glad you guys came up in my Home Screen! Not much of a welder, but I'm willing to learn or outsource it lol
Just buy a welder and watch some videos on UA-cam! That's how we learned to weld!
What are your measurements for flow cuttings. Firebox to smoker and also the stack dimensions and placement. And links appreciated.
What is the thickness of material you used for burn bix and barrel? Great job! Thank you for reply.
Incredible Build. Profi’s for sure. I’d pay that for this Item.
Very nice good job. Heart very happy. Thanks.
I don’t love the idea of a wood rack in the front but not bad. I appreciate the work and good on ya welding stick. No wire monkeys over here!
I have subscribed and watching from Australia
Nice similar to a Franklin I like some vent holes in the smoke box door with slide adjustment

Amazing build once again maybe it's time I learn how to weld
BBQ place I used to work at would call that top rack the potato rack cause it works great for smoking spuds.
Awesome build. Great video on the construction. Just curious how much do you think it weighs?
I failed to ask how you settled on olive oil, how much did you apply and how often should it be added.
On the back axle it needs a grease zerk installed, I have one my dad built and it has rusted and locked the axle, also was always hard to turn because the axle is live and and both roll together and turning sharp was never fun when it was first built.
Awesome build. I think the coolest part is you get to spend time together doing something you both love. You can't place a value on that!!!!
That’s what our channel is all about!
Rjats an awesome build. I'm actually looking at getting soon.
