Pro-tip: You have to raise the front and put both sides on jackstands (or use a lift) and remove both tires first - if you try to do one at a time, the other tire will pull down on the swaybar and the tension on the link will prevent you from removing the nut from the swaybar link. Also: it's easier if you use pliers to hold the back of the swaybar bolt. Thanks for the video! :)
Yup
Good stuff my guy. I'm about to do my 2017 Nissan Altima. Great tutorial to help me get it done. The top bolt on my strut snapped off. Crazy!
Cool good luck!! Let me know how it went
Very helpful content!
Glad it was helpful!
Good job Man, thanks for the video
No problem 👍
Thanks for the video. Got a $920 quote for one strut and alignment, will give it a go myself. Cheers.
Oh yeah this one is simple if u but complet assemblies
I agree with RB. Do not try save even more money by buying struts only. It is not worth the safety risk of being hit by the coil. But the complete sets.
Eres bueno vato para cambiar amortiguadores aprendí bien facil con tu teoría
Sorry English please
Outfreakingstanding gentlemen. Great job for teaching me something
No problem!!!
You’re awesome, I changed my 2017 maxima SV the same way, Thank you.
Yup same
Had to cut my sway bar links off. It was locked up something serious. Cut off wheel to the rescue!!!!
Thanks for the video man!
Right on! Wish u made a video I would like to see this
@@RBTheMechanic Dang. I thought about it too, to add to my channel. Frek, I missed that opportunity.

Muy bien
Much appreciated 🙏

thanks bro!
Welcome
Your video helped out a lot and saved me some time for the most part. I said for the most part because after I was done, I took the car for a test drive. When I went to make a right turn the car started making some weird noise but only when I turned right and sometimes while driving straight. I also noticed when driving above 30mph it would pull to the right. I'm assuming the car pulling to the right means it needs a alignment done, but can not figure out what's causing the noise. I didn't touch anything else on the car besides changing the front strut assemblies and rear shocks. I can not really explain the sound all to much as it sounds like multiple to me. I've spent 2 days trying to figure it out by taking the wheels off and on multiple times checking to make sure things were tight and checking for anything leaking and haven't found anything. Am I missing something simple? Also the car was not making the noise before I started working on it.
It could be brake backing plate I would check all of my work to see anything off or touching and check brake rotor backing plate
Great fucking video. Mine snapped and had to do it and was able to with your help man. But mine was an 18mm, not 17 or 19 lol
Nice good job
You did a great job, man!! I was lucky to find this awesome video. I will have to replace the front left/right struts on my 2014 Nissan Altima. I am going to buy two complete strut assemblies for both sides and will do the job this weekend. Would it be okay if I buy them at Advance Auto Parts?
My biggest challenge could be taking out the 17mm bolt and the two bolts underneath it. I don't have a ply bar, then would it be difficult to take out that bolt without pushing? Do you think a breaker bar would be helpful to take out those bolts? What are the sizes of two bolts underneath it?
I think I show the sizes in the video u need the tools and try to get good struts kyb are good
2017 maxima, do you recommend changing the strut spring assembly or just the shocks with out replacing the spring. I need to change both sides, any brand recommendation ( Monroe) ? 172901 and 172902 is what I need. Thank you.
Your video by the way was awesome.
Do complet assembly
You are a fu**ing G ….I have to replace my .. and a learn how to do it with your video .. thank you 🙏
Glad it helped
I'm riding Altima 2017 I'm thinking about fcs strut assembly or prt strut assembly, which one is better?
I think KYB is better
Muchas gracias amigo, donde compraste los amortigüadores? Sólo cambiaste esa parte o también horquillas, tornillos, etc? saludos.
Welcome sorry idk spanish
Ahh, I meant where did you buy those springs? Did you just replace those springs or anything else?
Should I get the Oem of my 2015 Altima struts?
Yup that would be good
What size socket for bottom two strut bolts? Not the 17 mill for the stabilizers.
I think 21 I do mention it in video
What would cause the sway bar link to be way off from aligning back up?
What do u mean ?
Hey buddy I was just wondering if there is much difference between the 2015 and 2019 strut replacement. Thanks for your reply
Yeah but very similar
Thanks. Going to give it a go.
@@9767shane cool let me know how easy it was!!!
@@RBTheMechanic Just following up on my 2019 Nissan Altima strut job. It was rough. Lower ball joint on control arm refused to separate. I had to pull the entire control arm out and getting it back in and aligning the ball joint was tough. Lots of prying. The rest of the job was fairly straightforward. No more knocking and a much improved ride. Did both sides. Took me 5-6 hours per side. ( I'm an amateur). Glad I did it. Learned a lot. If you run into a 2019 or newer Nissan Altima I hope you post a video. Would love to see your tips!
@@9767shane oh maybe heat coating it up could had helped u anyways I did one like that had to pull out axle hub and arm together it was crazy
Will these instructions work for 2017 maxima?
Very much similar
What do you recommend on the struts what Brand Monroe?
I had bad experience with Monroe they don’t make them like they use to. I go with originals from dealer know. Or kyb also belstine
Thank you I appreciated it brother what about senson brand
Do you think this could be used to install coilovers too?
Not sure maybe it will not have spring seating correctly
@@RBTheMechanic what do you mean
You used the old nuts, what do the new nuts look like. Mavis did mine and the nuts look too small to me.
They r too small that’s why I used old ones they r better
@@RBTheMechanic yyyuuuuuuyyyyyyyuu
You stated, you paid $215 bucks per strut. What manufacturer makes them if you could let me know thanks.
