NEW RIDERS!!!! Watch this ➡➡➡➡➡➡ua-cam.com/video/f6697D_cbic/v-deo.html
In Europe the 701 is offered in an A2 Licence restricted power mode, the hp = 35 versus the standard 70 bhp. Does that option modulate your pov that this bike is not suitable for new riders? It's lightness, quality suspension , brakes and other components is appealing to a new rider. The WOW factor of the 701SM is also a real thing :)
I’m 38, will be 39 later this year, about to take my first motorcycle safety class in two weeks, and soon buy my first bike, never been on a bike before, and I have learned more in one week watching your videos than I have in a year researching on forums and from friends. So I want to thank you sincerely for all you do.
post videos on the bike I'll watch. tag me if u do !
I'm going to push back one one point in particular - over the last couple of years, the "just walk out" advice means you just won't get a bike in some cases. The one I wanted was backordered for MONTHS, and when it came in there were 20 guys on the waiting list behind me. Some times you just have to step up and pay if you want that particular bike. These are not, however, normal times. Generally speaking everything you said was bang on.
It all depends on the demand for the bike i.e. Tenere 700. You may be able to negotiate but reality is there is line behind you of people that are willing to pay what the dealer is asking for. In this case is a sellers market.
@lit3r4ll33 That's not how con-artists work. If a con-artist started every swindle with: "I'm about to bs you into doing something you probably wouldn't do.", nobody would get conned.
I don't think he's saying to walk out as in hopes of them calling you. I believe he's just saying walk out and do not allow yourself to get taken. Yeah, at some point years ago that "walk out" type of mentality worked for some but in terms of this video, my opinion is that he is simply saying walk out as in don't waste their time or yours if the deal is out of reach. I purchased two cars with the "technique" of "this is how much I can spend, can you make this happen." One of those times I had my loan officer on the phone and she basically said "I can send you a check for x amount right now, do you want to make the deal."
That's the entire point of walking out. You let them sell the bike because you don't want it for that price. I just told a sales guy today that I'll consider the MT-07 for 9800. He said "less than 10K OTD" a month ago. Called me this week and his offer was 10,600(roseville motorsports). He said it was because covid made prices go up, which makes no sense. I reminded him what he told me in person, and he said the lowest he could do is 10,500. I told him he can call me back when he has a brand new MT-07 for under 10k OTD. I'm going to check other places and wait. It will allow me to save for an even bigger down payment.
I know for a fact they will be able to sell it for that price, but it's not the price I want. I can wait until offseason, find a cheaper dealership, or buy used.
@@kellyrush243 Agreed. Walking out means giving up on that bike completely until you hear otherwise. It's about what you want, not about what they can do.
As a former motorcycle salesman, I’d be lucky to meet one person a year who had all of their ducks in a row. Also, 85% of people end up buying a different color, or completely different bike than intended. In my experience the vast majority of people have no clue what they want.
Do you actually sell motorcycles
You can tell a lot about a person by how they keep things, their cleanliness and organization is a big one. I always notice that stuff.
The tips in this video helped me greatly during my recent purchase of a Triumph Trident 660. It was a significant tug o war between me and the dealership. They tried to low ball me on my trade and it was really insulting. I had an envelop of cash on the table in the amount that I wanted to pay.
Sellers tried to guilt trip me about the trade, but instead I walked out. I had it in my mind that this deal was a bust and that I'd go back home with my current bike.
The salesman ran out to catch me before I left. I got the amount I wanted for the trade and the price out the door that I wanted.
Doing your research before hand, and being willing to walk away helped me snag the price I wanted. I also traveled an hour away from home because I could not find what I wanted in-town.
I couldn't agree more with having a budget and sticking to it. It may mean you have to wait awhile. It may mean you have to travel a fair distance from your home. I waited 4 months (April to July) before finally being able to purchase my 2017 Yamaha FZ-07 for MSRP ($6,100 USD) + sales tax. No freight + PDI. No license fees. No unknown fees. I contacted/visited 12 dealerships and none would meet my terms until 2 of them finally budged in August. Both dealers were outside Toronto so I chose the closer one to my home.
I'd add one more tip. You are the customer. Make them do things the way you want. I walked into a used bike dealer with $20k to buy a full dress touring bike and wasn't sure between an HD and a Vulcan. I told them I wanted a test ride on both, back to back. The sales guy told me I had to choose, only one test ride per customer. I told him to go tell his manager he was about to lose a $20k deal if that was the rule. The manager came out and told me it wouldn't be a problem. Money talks.
Lmao what a badass story
My house is a mess and my grooming needs attention but I take great care of my bikes and cars mechanically. Some people present really well but a knowingly looking to take advantage. I find with second hand sales you learn more through conversation. Lots of bikers who I know are gruff but are fastidious with their pride and joys. I think a bigger red flag is if they avoid answering questions or are rude as if you’re wasting their time. The best second hand bikes I’ve owned the sellers really seemed concerned that I was happy, not because they want the sale done but because they loved their bike and were sad to see it go. Great advice, just my little addition! Love your channel.
Never tell the salesman what you want your payment to be. Now they know how to structure the deal for them to make the most profit. Always ask for the out the door price. Never tell them you are paying cash. They make more money in the finance office then they do on the bike. There are lots of information on UA-cam on how to negotiate on buying a vehicle.
You have any advice on the finance department. I’m buying cash so how can I know I’m getting a good deal.Any advice would help
Don’t tell the you’re paying cash until after they give you a price. Let them assume you may finance.

@@SuperMegaWoofer3000 do you know how much a ninja 500 is supposed to to be in cash
Just bought a new HD Nightster 975 last week. Got a very good deal too, even better price than I wanted ! Your review help my buying decision a lot. 😊
Thanks a ton, mate! This is an eye-opener for me, especially that I'm a new bike rider.
I'm researching for my first bike and I'm really glad to have watched your video, thank you for taking the time to make this educational video.
Great video. One more thing if you are at all like me and you love Motorcycles, be careful they can be seductive and when you get in the dealership or you go over to somebody’s house that is selling the motorcycle you can lose perspective of what you really want. it’s a good idea to write it down or bring a friend to remind you. I am leave your money at home so if you really want it, you have to go back home and get it and that buys you some time to think it through.
Gonna say, most of this is great advice for buying ANY vehicle! Wish I'd know all this in my youth.
Glad to see this video come up. luckily I knew the guy at the dealership I think I over researched the 2022 Ninja 400 in I purchased in January. Great bike at a good price in Canada.
Note - Greg's advice is based upon market conditions. Don't think you're going to get a discount if the bikes are selling faster than they can get them.
Also, if you want to test drive a private seller's bike, come with cash. I never let a person test ride the bike I'm selling unless they hand over $500 cash to cover the deductible if they damage or crash it.
It's unreasonable to ask a private seller to hand over the keys before the deal is done. I don't know about the US, but here in the UK it is unlikely that the machine will be insured for this. Ergo, you do not get a test ride. By all means have someone check it over and listen to the engine, but no test ride.
I do the same, however I get all the cash in hand first. And if they drop it, it's theirs.
As a buyer I don’t test unless I think I will buy it and I tell them if I drop it, it’s sold! Hasn’t happened yet thankfully!
Awesome advice I hope tons of people read this thanks Greg.
Spot on Greg, One thing that helped me getting the bike I wanted and best bang for buck in the past was speaking to more than one dealership to see who wanted my business the most.
I’ve been in the car industry for 15yrs.. only thing I would change is your 1 for 2 and 2 for 1… everything else is the same advice I give people! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I wish in jersey we could just “walk out the dealership,” we only have the “motorcycle mall.” Everything in there is Overpriced..and that’s the only spot we have.
Everything is also negotiable on trade ins as well. I received a 2nd offer of $7000 more on a trade in, the very next day, after I walked out of the dealership. So, you should expect that the first offer won’t be what you want and that you’ll leave. Like he said, get what you want at the price you want to pay. That’s my number one rule.
As a former sales exec…I ask about the prospects budget, what’s important to them, I take a gamble to up sell, but my modus operandi is to facilitate a purchase, make sure the prospect has a good experience…I don’t do discounts because I am prepared to go above and beyond at the point of taking ownership and after sale service. If you don’t like it, you can deal with someone else. Also, I give honest opinions regarding servicing and costs associated, keeping their budget in mind. Why? Because I want referrals and repeat business.
You sound like the real estate sales lady I used for years. She was polite, honest, and efficient - and her customers kept coming back.
She died, and I still grieve her loss.
It’s a lot cheaper to buy the right bike than to get a discount on a bike that wasn’t right. So this makes sense.
I love these practical videos!
wasnt expecting these tips, thanks for that, good to know
good advise!! best tip is to walk out the door. I offered 14k for a car and wouldnt pay any more. Walked out and after they figured out I was seriously leaving, A miracle happened. lol
I like the ideas however I’ve been a salesman for a car company and the first thing they teach you is someone comes in looking for blue sell them white ( sell what you have )
Every time I go in with specifics it’s always “ back ordered, sold out or they aren’t willing to spend the time needed to get you what you want because they are there to sell you something period!
You nailed it “ they are there to sell you something “ “ they aren’t your friend “ “ they would rather talk to 10 people and sell 5 than one and sell one “
It’s completely annoying so so so annoying
Remember dealers also make a lot of money from selling you finance so saying you have the cash now isn't necessarily as important as it used to be.
But it can work well with private sellers.
Also if you do use finance to buy a bike, banks usually offer better deals than dealerships.
How do u get a bike deal from a bank trying get into motorbikes
@@ryantaylor841 Agree a loan from a bank for the amount you intend to spend, then buy the bike using the loan. Is that what you wanted to know?
Well, you can negotiate the price, without discussing a loan or any financing. And if agreed on the price, then ask for a printed offer. Once you have it you would state you want to write down a check or make a payment. The salesman would have lost the opportunity to drag you into the financing "jungle".
I bought a car new in 2017. I knew exactly the model, colour, and all the features I wanted. I went to a dealer and asked about it. The dude made the mistake to give me a printed offer with the exact car I wanted. On the offer it was also the VIN number, so it was clear they had it in stock. It was the end of the month, and they had sales target, and were eager to sell. MRSP was 17800 euros. They offered it at 15500, I left my phone number and left, and next morning they called. I went back to them and negotiated it to 13000. So, in some circunstances this tactics work.
Good advice and yes some dealerships just plain suck screwing new riders over.
I would advise anyone thinking of getting a bike to do a lot of internet research and if you are a new rider don't buy too much bike - you are much less likely to end up dead. If buying used privately your advice spot on - older people with money look after themselves as well as the stuff they own.
Good advice on buying just about anything! The most important part of that to me was DO YOUR RESEARCH! By the time I got to the dealer for my current bike I knew exactly what bike I wanted and that it fit my needs to a “T”. I also had researched MSRP, dealer costs, prices in my area, etc and knew what I should pay for the bike. Smooth process. Thanks for the videos!
Being a new rider in my 50's I think this is all obvious - but them I'm reminded there are a lot of twenty-somethings who don't know this stuff. You're doing good work man!
I walked in to Broward Motorsports in South Florida in 2017 right after I got my Motorcycle endorsement from Harley Davidson. With the instructor who was my "friend". My "friend" took me there to check out used bikes as I had a budget of 5k USD at the time. They started showing me all the brand new bikes and that they would give me a great deal. When I was about to walk away because of downpayment on 2016 R6,they told me they didn't need the downpayment and they could deliver the bike same day. I got excited and agreed to all,I paid 10k for 2016 R6 when 2017 new look was out, paid all the fees. Bike got delivered the same night and that was it. Stolen from my building after 10 days as I couldn't afford to insure it. Full insurance for a new rider on 600cc sports bike was $1000 a month..
Why does it matter how much the suspension was loaded to? You can always readjust it.
Is there a difference in price if you buy a motorcycle in the dead season, when it's cold and rainy. And do dealers give discounts for Christmas? Thank you for the invaluable answers.
I just bought my new 2023 MT-07 and I can't wait for it to arrive! The thing is in my country unlike the US the prices are tipically non-negociable for new bikes only for the used ones so that's a bummer.
I live in Ireland and in 2020 i bought my first bike - MT-07 as well. The price back then was 8400 euro, but because I was a new rider I wanted a jacket I chose earlier (Alpinestars T-Jaws v3), so I asked to get it for free and they agreed. In two different dealer shops they didn’t even wanted to hear about it, lol. I remember that in 2020 MT-07 was selling like hot cakes ;)
There's really nothing to negotiate on. Especially on such a popular bike as the MT07.
In that case the best you can do is try to get stuff included like the comment above stated but even then you're pushing it.
I got freaked out by the ghost doing dishes in my kitchen lol. Great info thanks buddy!
I don't like wasting time going to dealerships for negotiations so I recommend from experience for those who already know which bike you want, just do your research on the bike, then email the sales people from your dealer of choice. It'll be back & forth communication, although sometimes you may need to wait longer to hear back, it allows you more time to think about making serious offers or not.
Good idea.
Great advice most people Will just pay the price that's advertised and won't even ask for a discount 👍
My house/garage and yard is a mess but I keep my vehicles immaculate and well serviced.
Me too! I answer all questions and don’t mislead buyers!
Great Great advice!
You nail it. One important thing that you don't mention is that at whatever age are, if you are new to motorcycling you have to choose a bike that allows you to learn. Just like in every other sport. You start learning surfing on a longer board.
I have never, ever, answered the question 'what budget are you looking at?'.
They're there to show me bikes that fit me with the features I need (or - to some extent - want).
MSRP is just a starting point. That is manufacturers SUGGESTED starting price. Ask for the invoice price. That is what the dealership paid. Ask about rebates.(check on line) hold backs on same bikes.
2019 used Ninja 650 7.5k miles. ($6,415). Thoughts?
4:46 very true. If their property or self isn’t in order, neither are their machines.
Simply....fantastic advice...👍🇬🇧😎
Just say, I want an R1M do you have them? The answer, "No, we can't get them." Great video Greg!
Appreciate the advice brotha!
you're welcome
Just another tip... buy a bike from a dealership close to your home. Under consumer law (Australia) its the retail dealer who has right of repair for warranties or defects - that could mean other dealers do not want to touch it and if its broken down you'll have transport it, often at your own cost, especially if it's an exotic bike.
Whilst on warranties (Australia) - don't pay for extended warranty. Australian Consumer Law protects the product for reasonable expected duration/durability. Catastrophic engine failure on a 3 year old motorcycle should be covered by the manufacture, even if it's 2nd hand... threaten legal action and they'll back down, they know their obligations.
It would definitely help to understand what baseline or "realistic" deal you're going to get from a dealership. Is MSRP possible? Is below MSRP possible? Can we negotiate freight / prep down to $0? What is realistic when trying to determine what I want to pay for a bike?
Del Amo does not negotiate with buying on a loan. Only if you’re buying with cash 100%. Had this experience last year with them, webt to fun bike center instead and they were willing to negotiate. Del Amo guy said price was firm, especially the markups. Walked out after spending 30 minutes trying to get the guy to budge
A lot of dealers won't budge on the Freight Surcharge and Destination Fee because manufacturers force dealerships to pay these fees. The only good news is that some manufacturers clearly list these fees on their websites.
Honda for example charges a destination fee of $400 and a freight surcharge of $200, totaling $600. With this information, you know that if a dealership in the USA is trying to make these more? They're actively trying to scam you because they're increasing the fees. These two fees are the same for every dealer in the USA when it comes to Honda bikes.
In my country you can forget all about negotiating the price..price is the same and firm at all dealerships. You can maybe get a discount wenn buying gear at the same time.
In my country there is plenty of bikes to get mt07. T7 and Grom’s dealerships is full of them.
Rebel 1100 manuals have been impossible to find for the last 2 years. When one pops up randomly there is no room for negotiations cause someone literally 5 states away will come with a trailer and pick it up. I was on a waiting list for 10 months, but saw one pop-up 5 states away at a smaller mom/pop dealership. Same day unloaded from truck & deposit. Next day took a trailer and drove 6 hours through the last really bad snow storm Mass. had. My buddy has a deposit down on his and is @ 13 months waiting. Some bikes are so in demand that the dealer doesn't even waste their breath.
Funny, I went to a Honda dealer recently to order my new Hornet, and they had like 20 Rebels just standing there. Guess it doesn’t sell as well in Europe
Never ever ask a salesman "what is your best price?" And then disagree with them. Know what your looking for. If it a 1st year newest and greatest, you are not getting a deal. Hold over bikes are where it's at for deals. There is NO ordering from the factory. Motocycle dealerships are run on an allotment system. So what they get in a particular model is what they get for the year, all at once.
Yes. The key to negotiation is always being willing to walk.
That's a two way street. I had a guy come to buy a bike and spent an hour telling me what was wrong with it in an attempt to knock me down. I ended up refusing to sell it to him. I sold it to a guy who rocked up, paid the going rate and didn't waste my time.
@@markellott5620 100%
Excellent points.
That beanie…throwback
I had a salesman me that the price was only good for the day. I told him if it wasn’t good tomorrow it wasn’t good today and I will never returned. Thanks for another great video 👍 👍
There are internet prices and floor prices on the same vehicle. Many dealerships sell more bikes on line vs floor. I shop on line for the best deal country wide and have it shipped especially if it’s new or have mechanic check it. If I buy in the same city what is the best out the door price. No phone calls needed until you accept a deal. Never buy an extended warranty on a new bike. Wait a year or two to decide. Sadly, buying a vehicle is the worse part when it should be an exciting experience. That is why shopping on line avoids the salespeople shenanigans. Pay cash if you can. Never finance anything longer than 3 years as depreciating liability. If you can not own a vehicle after 2-3 years then over spending. Credit debt not good.
How much markup is typical at moto dealerships?
Yesterday I walked into a Ducati dealer with the intention of buying a Ducati Diavel V4 almost a 30K bike, salesperson barely got up his seat and he was like “why are you here leave me alone” kinda attitude. He showed zero effort to sell me the bike, I even told him give me your sales pitch sell me the bike, but nope. He didn’t have the bike and he was gonna order it and I guess he didn’t want to. So I left, I decided to skip buying a new bike this year. I usually buy a new bike every 3-4 years. But today’s salespersons are so bad, no wonder motorcycles industry is dying and no one talks about how bad these people who work at these dealers.
As a private seller I am more than happy for a mechanic to check out the bike - however, no you don't come into my garage and poke about and no, you don't get to ride the bike. I am not insured for this like a dealer is. And my price is right for the year, condition and mileage - if the tyres need replacing, I will have already done this (see also, brake pads, chain/sprockets etc). I don't negotiate on price.
I don’t know what to do I’m going to look at one tomorrow a r125 and it’s 2017 6k miles but me and my dad are going both can’t test ride it because we can’t ride yet. I have watched loads of videos what to do but should I check it and hope there’s no problems? It’s £2350 ish mot until late September. Recently had new breaks chain and sprocket. Starts on the button no issues at all.
Any thoughts or tips will help!!
And another suggestion, don’t finance it. Pay for it. If you can’t pay for it you can’t afford it. If you can’t afford it too bad. Save up enough money to pay for it. Stay out of debt.
And build equity with something more expensive??? It sounds like uve been financially traumatized and we’re here for you.
You don't have a single lick of credit do you lol 😂 you sound broke saying that and unreliable on payments honestly
This the type of guy who thinks "Capitalist" is a slur. Lmao
@@davidlangston7489he’s not completely wrong. As far as bike insurance goes, if you finance a bike you will have to get comprehensive and collision which can be upwards of 1k a year. If you own the bike then you can just get liability and that’s only about 200 a year. Do the math and see which one is better in the long run
@@alexstepp5602 you’re proving my point more than before lol if you’re broke don’t ride if I have to pay 1k as an adult, annually then so be it if I have collision and comprehensive insurance then when I totally my bike insurance pays for it lol that’s called adulting and life AKA maturity and money
Yep so true! Walk out and go to the next dealer. It’s difficult to get a good deal on some bikes as some vehicles are still hard to get and are on back order. Just yesterday I went to try and get a brand new gsxr 750 and the guy was giving me outrageous prices on all their bikes. $18,000 for a gsxr 750 and $14,000 for a Yamaha R7 out the door. I just walked out. I’ll typically be ok paying 12% over sticker price at most when Im buying the new year bike at the beginning of the year because sales tax and dealer fee or whatever but I have paid sticker price or lower out the door for old new stock bikes.
Good luck with finding a seller that knows all of what u said and answer them
Any thoughts on financing through the dealership verses a bank? I always find it annoying that one of the first things they will ask you once you start talking price is will you be financing through the dealership (or for an auto if you will lease it). Like why does it matter? The price should be the price. I like to negotiate on the price.
Also, if I remember correctly, the interest rate through the dealership is always extremely high. Like if car loans are 6%, the dealership will finance the bike for like 18% or higher citing higher defaults blah blah blah.
It's probably a good idea to finance through a 3rd party bank.
I always finance via dealership and ensure there isn't an early payoff penalty. After first month I just refinance with my normal lender.
I just bought a bike through a Honda dealership, their Tier 1 rate is 7.9%, unless you have an 800+ credit score, you're probably not going to qualify for that rate. I ended up going through my credit union and got a 7.6% rate my credit score is in the mid 700's. My recommendation is to check your local banks first starting with any credit unions.
Like when I bought my rebel 500. I did all my research before hand and decided that bike would be perfect for what I was looking for. High gas mileage and enough power for the hills I have here. I could have got something bigger but why. I have rode many bikes and don’t really care if it’s fast or not as long as it has 2 wheels I like. BTW I’m looking for parts for a 1961 Honda C110 super cub. Anyone know where I can find them reasonably priced. It’s been sitting in my basement for 30 some years and I’ve been painfully trying to find parts for it.
Parts for the Supercub? Go on holiday to Thailand... or try Webike

How Ironic. Yesterday I went to a Harley Dealership and they were trying to sell me the bike i wanted, but I stuck with my guns and said I will consider. I m just Focused on getting my M1 License. Great Tips!
this was so helpful for sure thank you so much!
great video. just be assertive and say no if you dont like it, dont let anyone persuade you to buy something that you really dont want, you feel like in your mind that you might hurt their feelings, fuck their feelings.
There’s a lot of dealerships out there that will take your money for the price you want. Just like women 😂 ask Charlie Sheen about it.
How do you find out how much a dealer actually pays for a new motorcycle, as opposed to msrp?
I’ve met salesmen who know less about their product than I do. Sad. Also, I bought a brand new bike (xsr900) last month for msrp out the door. No prep, delivery or doc fees. Plus a free 600 mile oil change. They will take your money if you left them. If you walk in tipping your hand and showing your excitement. You’re an easy target! Also, these are toys. Pay cash.
Sorry to hijack this video with an unrelated comment. I’ve just bought my first bike, brand new Yamaha 125 from a dealer and everything was great, delivered yesterday. I’m in the U.K. and I passed my CBT over one month ago on their learner 125 bike, first time I’ve ridden a motorbike and by the end of the course I was out on the road with 60% confidence. To cut a long story short, I got on my new bike today and my confidence has fallen to roughly 40%. I only rode down the road and I was nervous to put it into 2nd gear. My bike feels a lot more tighter and snappy, probably because it’s new. I know it’s a case of practice and muscle memory, but would it be good to take refresher learner course with an instructor to go through everything again?
Practice practice practice go in a empty parking lot or if you live in a neighborhood with hardly any traffic. Just practice get used to shifting get used to stopping and accelerating from stops. Get your turning radius, adjust your brake levers so your not giving it throttle when your trying to stop. Also mirrors being able to see behind you. You will get there just keep practicing.
It's always good to take training courses. I think that you're also suffering the same thing that I am. I took the MSF course (here in the US) and even though am a new rider I felt confident because the bike that was using wasn't mine and it was outfitted with crash protection. I just got my new bike yesterday and I get anxious, just going up and down my driveway, let alone out on the neighborhood streets. Might feel a little better on it once I get the engine guards installed on it. Good luck with your new bike!
Same back when.
Did some parking lot stuff and two hour laps, slowly get more and more comfortable and took alternate routes. You have the same thing with any break in riding. More accidents happen in Spring.
When you say the price is always negotiable, approximately how many % of the otd cost can you negotiate? Im really curious.. i looked at a bike that was some 13k+ and the otd cost was 17k+.
In my head i was like “damn that was a huge increase. So now im researching what’s a reasonable otd price but cant find a good article about it

What do you think about going to the dealership knowing you’re not going to get the bike yet but plan on it, would I be waisting their time? Like you mentioned I want to get a cashiers Check from my bank I’m just not willing to finance with dealers because I know how sneaky they can be. I’m not sure anyone would be willing to throw otd numbers my way because of how young I am. I’m 22
You gotta do what’s best for you. Just don’t be a jerk.
Pay for it with credit card and lose 95% of interest fees. Paid of my motorcycle balance in full with credit card a few years ago. 11k total, transferred to another card interest fee for 18 months, had one time minimal balance transfer fee. Repeated the process at the end of 18 months, as I can’t afford to pay it off within the first cycle, 36 months almost every dollar went toward the bike. Play the system.
Most dealerships don’t let you do that
Stability control and IMU is important. 2012 all new cars mandated stability control. That will happen to motorcycles
Tell you what. I’m new to the motorcycles (first month after buying one),but i’ve seen a tonns of people that would not care how their backyard looks like, but the car or truck gets more attention and care then their wifes. Not all,but a lot. Just a thought to consider.
#6 never listen to a self proclaimed internet motorcycle expert 😂
What about the dealer fees, doc fees etc do you pay those or get them waived?
If you know a dealer that will wave those fees, but from them.
Watch out for Delamo, 20-25% "ADM" fees on your dream bike.
direct, concise and informative. thank you. my most common reason for leaving any vid is getting to the 3rd minute and still have no useful info. subbed.
Motorcycle/Car Dealers are your enemy and they should be treated that way. When see the price on the bike it will be $2500.00 more than the tag price. Buy private. You have more buying power. Cash is King in the private sales. Dealers can get higher prices because they finance.
This is the best video on this topic I've ever seen. Great job.
depends where you are right now and the bike you want... some have long waiting lists and people will not even look at the bike before buying it... a Dealer just got an unclaimed Honda CRF300L Rally in? Good luck haggling... the dealer will laugh at you and then call one of the people he has on a 6 month waiting list... or throw it up for auction at this point.
Technically speaking, if you have the ability to buy something you can afford it regardless of any other details
Great info..another tip is stay away from used bikes that say adult owned.. like you just said a 25 year and a 50 year are both adults
Dude, seeing that in an ad is not necessarily a red flag. I always say that in my ads because I actually maintain my bikes like an adult. You still need to do your due diligence of course, there are always scammers, but I'm being truthful when I say it. My bikes are my babies, they get treated well.
@@mollygrubber that's true.. I clean my bikes after every ride..even if they are not even dirty..also if sell one I don't need to put in adult owned lol
Wrong, adult owned is good thing , your logic is insane
@@guins99 that's your opinion..like I said earlier it's not always a good thing because evey bike is adult owned as you have be an adult to buy one
I feel like motojitsu's relationship with that dealership ended :(
Went there yesterday. $2900 ADM fees for a $11,500 bike +TTL.
@@mdigicayI’ve been looking online and that place has crazy prices on ADM fees. I will stick to no ADM fees or dealerships with out the door prices. F- those dealerships trying to screw people over like RideNow dealerships. Bunch of crooks they give you the run around. Tell you to come in we can run numbers. I’m like nope you are not running my credit report. Than they do the surprise we added 2000 extra for some B.S. dealer fees.
My salesman didn't even go over the dash on my new 24 ninja. As soon as sat down with finance he was gone! She snuck in a 2k lifetime warranty that I didn't want.
Excellent tips!! 🎉👍
These sales people would not survive selling cars. They just talk themselves out of a sale. They are too busy, someone else wants it, they get worried if you request a test ride to sell their own stuff. They don't negotiate prices either. One place wants a non refundable deposit. Hell no.
"One day APR special for service members"
Sssoooo 22% instead of 25%?
If you're selling a bike, how do you decide whether to let a prospective buyer ride it. I did that once, and the guy smashed it up on me.
Take the cash in hand, if he drops it he buys it
Sales people take advantage of ignorance especially if your young or sound inexperienced. There is a difference when you walk into a Toyota or Chevy dealership vs Mercedes dealership. Toyota/Chevy type dealership more shenanigans. MB most salespeople know you probably have a college degree and offer a fair trade in first time. No shenanigans.
Good video. Man, I need to make some changes myself!
Pay what you want? I’d love to live in that world. Unless it’s a bike that’s waaaay beyond its sell-by date (the dealer has been making payments to the mfr for a year, for example), there is a minimum they’ll sell the bike for, and usually, they’ll wait for the buyer who’ll pay the asking price. Why should they sell that $10k bike today for $9k when tomorrow, someone else will gladly pay the $10k or more? You said it yourself: salesmen are there to make money, not do you favors. And I say this as a buyer who has seen the incredible deals on last year’s bikes; they simply weren’t the bikes I wanted. And when I’ve tried to get a better price on a bike I did want, someone else swooped in and paid full price.
I agree, especially if it’s a brand new current model year bike that’s in high demand. They’ll just wait for someone else to pay full retail. For example, there’s going to be little to no negotiating with the dealership on a brand new Yamaha MT-09 SP. That’s if you’re able to find one.
If you go in to the dealer to buy a 600cc sportbike, and they talk you into a 1000cc sportbike... they did you a huge favor.
You will thank them later! 😆
