I’ve tried normal vs sports and found almost no difference. Yes sports mode used more battery but it also got there faster. I think I’d have to get both several times in exact wind conditions. But I did test same location twice and found no difference
Use Cruise Control. 10% and and below: you can still keep it up, you just have to keep pushing up on the joystick. 0% and at least 1 minute: before it will come down regardless.
Billy Kyle's post was a responsible one of how to do a longe range test. Over flat desert, not Queensland, Australian jungle, with spotters along the flight route, situated to monitor the drone's progress & its safe retrieval. This one was a real, novice, amateur job. Seemed proud of his ignorance of the RC's optimum antenae positioning & ignoring flight manuals. A potential recipe for disaster.
Fantastic! Thanks for the video! I had the mini 3 pro but I sold it several months ago and now I’m itching to get another drone. I’m seriously considering this drone over the Mavic 3 classic. I did hear of some issues with the RC two controller with some users not being able to recharge it. Have you had any of those type of issues at all?
Hi there mate . That was sensational to see the extra distance you got after tilting the antenna’s up ways . But also upsetting for the loss of the drone. I think I’m more upset than you are 😮. Was it possible to retrieve the drone I was just wondering . And if not do you have care refresh . Besides all said that was amazing video 👍
@@Sonymoviemasters did it land In bushes or somewhere visible to spot out . I thought you lost it because I didn’t see you retrieve it back . But the good news is that it’s in one piece and safely back in your hands . I’ve learned quite a bit from your long range test . Although I’ve got a Mini 4 pro which is a big difference than your drone . Your battery has more flying time 👍
@@Sonymoviemasters reviewed the last part of the vid.. that was really close.. with 3% bat and 2 mins + remaining flight time ..unhealthy for the bat.. but at least youve set a diatance record of 8.8km
So what lesson did we learn..? What did you do wrong? This drone apparently sucks because it advertised 20 miles! But it can only go 16 kilometers which is only 10 miles! Samething with my dji mini 4 pro where it cam only go for 4 kilometers where it also advertised at 20 miles! Maybe thats because it has rc2 control?! Not so impressive.
I think that is dependent on OPTIMAL conditions, so if there was NO interference, NO Wind, NO Obstacles in its way.. then maybe... but yes, it does over advertise.
This guy doesn't know very much about flying that drone. I get over 9,000m all the time with my Air 3. I don't fly out where I have to fly back against the wind. He was going about 21 m/sec on the way out and 7.1 m/sec when he turned around. He flew in sports mode while recording and he didn't even attempt to get his drone home when the forced landing began. He said you don't have control under 10% battery, that's completely false. Very poor video.
@@Sonymoviemasters yeah. Going back obviously. I'm just saying you had everything set to minimize the range you could achieve. It was a range test for flying as inefficient as possible.. if that's the goal, awesome job!
To do a real range test and save battery:
1.Turn off obstacle avoidance sensors
2.use cruise control
3.use normal mode (n)

Are you flying in a hurricane? I can go little over 9km and back with still over 10% batt on landing.
Salt flat video was Billy Kyle and he was in Utah. That’s a great video too.

Of course I've done that some time ago 😁
8km with Mini 3 pro and the plus battery
What kind of scenario did you get the 8kms from? similar to where i flew it? out in the forest/desert area on top a hill?
@@Sonymoviemasters top of a hill over a valley and a coulpe of villages bellow with little interference
no use of cruise control, flown in sport mode, and using 4K 60fps, bizzare. at least it shows performance when flown in the worst possible way
Exactly.
Sir you were going 21 meters/sec. That's about 47mph.
Try it on a beach. You can always safely land in case of any issues without any signal problems.
why is one antenna facing the other way??????????

No issues recharging at all. Really love it. Quality, distance, flight time, safety, very impressed
Good video testing. Can you tell where the country of this test (so we can know if FCC ou CE mode)? And what is the firmware version of the drone?
Far North Queensland, Australia. I believe the latest firmware.
His accent is a dead giveaway, plus the warbling tones nearby of an Australian magpie at one point on the soundtrack.
13m/s Best Speed Range =46,8km/h / Never test range at windy day . Wind must be 0.
It’s meters per second. Not miles per hour. It’s about 75kilometers per hour
oh wow, thats alot faster than I thought.

47 mph (not 21)
Why was the video cut when landing on the homepoint? Did you really make it home? 😂
For dramatic effect my friend. I did make it, with literally a second to spare. Not one or less

Technically it was 16000 return, going back the weather changed (can't beat mother nature). It was simply a test. Let's see your video
