- The closest thing we have to a Super hero RPG
I recommend the GOG version (Stay away from the steam version) - www.gog.com/ga...
From GOG " From a distant corner of the galaxy, an evil alien race sets in motion a sinister plan to conquer the Earth. They unleash a powerful catalyst - Energy X - that imbues the planet's worst miscreants with super-powers to bring the planet to its knees. Now Earth's only hope lies with a new breed of heroes... The Freedom Force!
Command a squad of comic book heroes in the defense of Patriot City. Choose from over a dozen heroes or create your own comic champions.
Fight for freedom in over 20 action-packed missions.
Restore order in a completely interactive 3D world."
This and it'an sequel "Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich" are some of the very best excellent superhero games ever made. So impressive at the time and the way the game works is so unique, I have never seen anything like it since.
Yes I was feeling quite nostalgic for this. Can't think of anything like the 2 FF games today
Possibly one of the most underrated games ever.
I know this is an old post. But i have to agree. I got it when it was new. One of the best games i played back then. Now i have it on GoG. I haven't played it yet. But I know this is one of the funniest games i have ever played. I didnt like the 2nd game as much. But it was still fun. Shame Marvel brought suit against them.
What a wonderful, underrated game
Agreed
A genuine cult classic indeed. Some great mods for FF exist with characters and stories from D.C, Marvel, Image and much more, even to this day!
Anything similar on Android?
i cant believe i played this game when I was 7 years old almost 17 years ago...man good times I adores these characters
This was MY FAVOURITE GAME for like 5 years... I would sell my soul for a new version of this in MMO form... orr in any form really
While it is possible to create a ridiculously overpowered character, people overlook the fact that the only way you'll be able to play them is through the use of cheats. Adding custom characters to your party roster costs points; and the more powerful the hero is, the more expensive they are.
I played this as a kid and for years I couldn't remember the name of the game. I tried explaining it to a friend and he thought I was making it up! The nostalgia watching this is great.
Play
MAN! u have the only Review video in youtube about this game! i actually searched a review of freedom force and wow u r the only one who reviewd this! man this game is the most underrated of alltime! even in youtube you cant find this game's subject except some lets plays and walkthroughs! it was literally one of the most moddable games back in the day and i played the shit out of it for like 10 years! overwhelmingly underrated! and there is rly no game like it even now!
A masterpiece!! I've played this game through so many times. Too bad we weren't able to get a third one!!!!!
I wish we get like a big AAA superhero RPG in the future
I'm kinda surprised we haven't gotten a huge open world superhero RPG with plenty of customization .. With the popularity of superhero movies and things like the MCU movies making a ton of money .. I thought someone would put lots of money behind that type of game by now
@@RetrospectiveGaming like I'd would imagine something like three Factions Heros, Villains and Antiheroes
I loved this game when it came out, and it still owns. Thank heavens for GOG. The original retail and Steam versions absolutely do not work on PCs not running Windows XP.
Indeed. I bought this game and it's sequel for a grand total of three dollars from GOG. I love a good deal.
As a TBS games fan! I loved this game so much at his time, and my age!
Thank you for the review! We played the original Marvel Super Heroes tabletop RPG. This game captured the comics and good times we had as kids. Dang it I need to get this game and sequel again ♡
You actually did it!!! Grabbing some popcorn for this one, Che!!
Thanks for the recommendation... I'm getting back into the groove of reviewing non fallout games and this was a great choice
"Your evil is unwanted here!! " I loved these games
truly a hidden gem
Nice review, but some of the language would definitely not be approved by the Comics Code Authority!
I made a busted hero to beat the last boss, didn't know he would be that busted, I saved all my pretige and "hero" points throughout the game and just put everthing into him
I remember this one, whoa it was amazing, I still remember the powers, the character and the plot twist in the second game that one or our heroes turns into a villain, Whoa I just loved every minute of it.
Yessir
Just such a shame that a third game was neer made.
One of my favorite games of all time
This game and this review both deserve more views and attention
Anything similar to this on Android?
Oh shit, didn't think you'd know this game
Loved it, and the sequel when i was a kid
I still do play it once in a while, making my own character with crazy powers
or multiple, and put them against each other in rumble mode. Good shit
So many damn mods...gonna import Dr doom and x men for sure...I hope there is a Watchmen pack ...there is a rumble mode? Well god damn I can squeeze more hours out of FF then ..nice
@@RetrospectiveGaming i know the sequel has one for sure. It has all characters from 1st game in it.
Great Video! if you like turn based strategy you should check out silent storm
This was my first "real" pc game I ever played also how I was introduced to mods for pc games
Nice I remember playing this one. Will you ever do a Divinity Original Sin Review? Or maybe the second one? They are truly great games, a wonderful mix of classic Crpg design and modern technology.
Also after watching your videos I decided to finally try Fallout 1 and 2. They are great. I had a blast. I was never a fan of crpgs (did not even try them, thought that they are not for me) but these two games changed my mind.
Thanks for that :D
One of the reasons why I'm building a new computer ..so I can play all the new crpg releases without lag :)
Hidden gem!
I loved this game as a kid 😍
Hell yeah
You should review Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. It’s impressive for a 2006 game.
I love the explosion power just blowing up all buildings within the radius....I maxed it out and just started going nukeYAlur
Hi any plans on reviewing Pillars of eternity 1/2, Divinity original sins 1/2, Torment: Tides of Numenera & Tyranny? Thanks :)
Loved this game back on 2002
Cheers & thanks for the subscription! Interesting retro gaming channel you got here!
You should do the 2nd one! Freedom Force VS The Third Reich!!!
Have you ever tried a game called “ I have no mouth and I must scream” I think it might be right up your alley
One of my personal favorites
@@Someguy-xu3oy indeed it’s really interesting
i loved this game
Great review. I loved this game, but none of my friends ever wanted to play it! :D
Hey Brother, hows the channel coming?
Going great! ...getting back into making reviews.. I'm more motivated to make vids now
Nice
This is a great game
You keep saying the game is real time but it's not ..... it's actually turn based ....it makes a really big difference .....
No, it's not turn based. There are no "turns". Just because you can pause at any time to issue orders doesn't make it turn based, all the action happens in real time.
Thought you can build a character on your own...
As I said in the review...you can ..it's just easy to make them op and I didn't want to make the game easy
thank you for he answer..,its a great review...
@@ravelitschimo Thank you for watching
Ah, I bought this game some time ago I haven't played through it yet.
fun game :)
Still waiting for you to post audio covers from Fallout 1 and 2 :)
I think you have perfect voice to pull that off.
Nothing special. Just the intros for the OG Fallout games.
I haven't forgot about that ..won't spoil the surprise but I might use then as an intro ( maybe ending too) in a future video about a certain fallout game that came out 10 years ago ...well I'm sure that Is a good hint hah ..kinda wanna do more with them than just a separate video
never played the original... i did have a copy for ff vs the third reich... and that one was way easier than the original (from what i have heared) :D
Anything similar to this on Android?
So its shit
Heh i member pirating this game
First. Lel!
If someone else has trouble runnin the game in win10, add a -w to the executable name (fforce-w.exe)
