- A scientist is on the verge of inventing a time travel machine. Things were going just great before his one bad habit turns out to be his end.
This is a short film about time travel and the paradox associated with it. Watch the film and comment if you like.

My first thought was, he's smart enough to master temporal quantum teleportation and stupid enough to smoke. That really bugged me until I saw the ending. Perfect.
I'm no film critic, but for something done on a zero budget it seems to have turned out great.

I’m no doctor but I tend to agree.
This is one of those shorts where you read the comments and go straight to the end because everyone says it's fantastic but you don't understand it because you never saw the beginning so you go back to the beginning anyway and wished you hadn't read the comments first. Loved it.
"This is definitely my last one" - yeah how many times have I said that!? LOL

wow i just now quit again then i was sitting here and saw a time travel film when he said he was gonna quit if it worked i laughed but everytime i want one im gonna remember this film and hopefully i have had my last one thank you a million times over great work

This was actually better than a good chunk of mainstream Hollywood shyte, what I liked most about it were the unexpected moments----never expected him to be shrunk (I expected a time travel short) and never expected his demise by cigarette lol.

Great twist ending. Worthy of Tales From the Crypt
This isn't a paradox. He goes back in time a few minutes and ends up small because he ignored the computer's inability to compensate or correct the decrease of mass; then his pre-TT self kills post-TT-little-self. He just created a time loop that will never end, but no paraoxes.

Low budget stories with good content are the best because clutter doesn't distract you from a cool central idea. As they say in art, less is more.
After smoking that many cigarettes, you don’t need to time travel, only place you are going to travel is hell.
Good concept of an ultimate time paradox bummer. I assume the large version of the guy will go back through the portal to find himself small again and again and again...
Moral of the story is don't smoke if you plan to jump through any weird portals.

Started watching Shorts on Dust and other short film channels because I've given up on Hollywood cop outs and trash reboots or garbage woke films.
Sci fi films and great shorts like this are a wonderful example that creativity and film can still be refreshing and new with no big budget to make it tacky.

Schrödinger's Time traveler.
Scientist creates a time loop(box) where he is now neither dead or alive, until someone outside can interact and stop it.
And he traveled in time, then accidently killed himself in the present - unsolvable crime, he vanished and no one is ever likely to figure out what happened to him.
Not true, they only need to come into the room and watch the goings on for the 11minutes that we did. Problem solved !!!
But he's still there, as his full-sized self. Forever.

Proves that you don't need a mega budget to produce quality.
Of course, the ending is hilarious and unexpected.

I just got finished complaining about how ill conceived some of the shorts are on the channel "Dust". This is superior in every way, despite the obvious budget constraints. Thanks for sharing.

That would be a little better than being burned alive at the stake. He was crushed by about a 2,000 pound cigarette, to scale, and killed him quite quickly at least. 😆
So if he is shrunk and kicked back five minutes in the past... into a time where he already exists in normal size, is there a paradox present? Is this an alternate dimension?

The bad habit is to hesitate before doing something necessary. Don't procrastinate!
My theory about time traveling: you can open a window in space fabric using huge amounts of energy something more powerful than nuclear,maybe fusion,the cons....you can't cross over,you can't interact in that dimension,because you will get killed instant for so much energy trying to keep the gate open,you only can see random events every time you open that gate in space,sadly the view of events won't be that crisp,you will see blurry ,like looking inside water,but is not possible with our present technology,in another 150 years yes.
Clever, nice writing. Way better than most such films. Keep at it. Recommended.
Ok first things first..you find a way to open portals and the first thing you do is risking your arm like that?who else just had the scary thought "what if it stops working while the arm is in"?

I was thinking along the lines of "He may suddenly get cancer", and "He may accidentally set himself or his workshop on fire". That was an unexpected ending there.

Great film loved it. I do not know how many of you realize he is now stuck in an eternally repeating closed paradox loop. He travels back in time, is killed by his future self who travels back in time only to be killed by his future self who travels back in time only to be killed by his future self who travels back in time only to be killed...…..eternally to be snuffed out by a cigarette.
