The rightsholders for Michael Jackson's music when SEGA was developing Sonic Origins:
SEGA wasn't the developper for Sonic Origins
they kinda were, whilest headcannon tried to do the sonic 3 remake, everything ealse was segas shotty porting job, the sonic 3 remake wasnt evan finished compleatly, they were forced to send in an unfinished build for the deadline and sega threw in the shitty prototype "remixes"
Sonic 3 fans explaining how the insta-shield was actually Sonic's best ability:
but it is >:)
@@supperwolf i never said it wasn't
They ain't lying
i still think its hilarious that they renamed the double spin attack the instashield.
I think it's the worst ngl Drop Dash is way better. Leave the "Instashielding" to Amy.
0:58 always get excited whenever I see there are visuals for the INDUSTRY BABY rips for some epic slander
I probably would’ve clicked off of the video if I hadn’t seen this comment, so thank you
Spoiler >:(
"average Hydrocity fan"
"average Hydrocity enjoyer"
Perfect, no notes
LMAO DIDNT EVEN GET IT AT FIRST, this is comedy gold
Hydrocity Fan Vs Hydro City Enjoyer
That split second of “Doilus Stage” was probably the highlight of the slander.
Explaining the visuals despite literally noone asking:
0:58 - The plot of Sonic 3 involves Eggman tricking Knuckles into thinking that Sonic is the villain, because Knuckles's lack of exposure to the outside world means he wouldn't have any reason to believe that Eggman is dishonest... or anyone, for that matter.
1:01 - This refers to the Insta-Shield/Double Spin Attack mechanic, which extends Sonic's hitbox slightly when pressing the jump button in midair without a shield. With precise timing, it allows him to defeat enemies that would normally damage him, as well as passing through (original)/deflecting (Origins) projectiles.
1:04 - Tails's variant of the Marble Garden Act 2 boss fight is considered to be one of the most difficult boss fights in the game. Unlike Sonic, he's forced into a flying state throughout the fight. He has to fly upwards into the bottom of Eggman's Egg Mobile to damage it, and Eggman occasionally points the drill that's attached to it downwards. Combine this with Tails's inertia, and it makes the fight considerably more difficult, especially if you're unable to get in some early hits at the beginning of the fight.
1:06 - Angel Island Zone is set on fire in the middle of the first act.
1:08 - If you have enough rings after activating a checkpoint, a ring of sparkles will appear above it that takes you to a bonus stage; this is the same method used to get to special stages in the second game. If you have 20-34 rings and have & Knuckles, this takes you to a stage reminiscent of Sonic 1's rotating special stages, with a Casino Night-esque slot machine in the center. Three Eggmans = lose 100 rings.
1:11 - Carnival Night Zone is filled with large spinning cylindrical barrels, most of which move automatically... except a single one in Act 2, which inexplicably requires you to alternate between holding up and down to move it. This is required to progress through Sonic and Tails's route, and is known within the community as the "Barrel of Doom".
1:13 - Just look up a playthrough and go to the end of Carnival Night Act 2, after the score tally. You'll see why.
1:15 - Sandopolis Act 2 has a mechanic where the stage will become darker over time, attracting a group of ghosts called Hyduros that Sonic/Tails unwittingly released earlier in the level. If the stage gets dark enough, the ghosts will swoop down and try to attack you.
1:17 - Nobody plays Competition Mode. Competition Mode uses a zoomed-out perspective, has much looser physics than the base game and simple, extremely short looping stages with a few obstacles scattered about and no rings or damaging hazards. That's not to say it isn't fun, but there are better versus modes in the series (i.e. Sonic 2's).
1:19 - Sonic & Knuckles has another cartridge port on its cartridge, mainly intended for Sonic 3 so you can experience the full game as intended (3 was released unfinished). If you use any game that isn't Sonic 2 or 3, it'll create a seed using (iirc) data in the cartridge header and generate a unique Special Stage using chunks of existing level design. Locking onto Sonic 1 allows you to use any seed, and goes through each possible combination in sequence. There's over 128 million unique combinations, though they very unsurprisingly start to feel same-y after a while.
1:22 - The Hot Mobile is the boss of Lava Reef Act 2 in Sonic and Tails's stories, and it's a literal waiting game. There's no way for you to damage it yourself, even with a Super transformation.
1:24 - Knuckles's story mode in Sonic 3 & Knuckles takes place after Sonic's ending, and it opens with an Eggrobo (offscreen) dropping a bomb in front of Knuckles. And that's not the only time it drops one.
1:26 - Mecha Sonic Mk. II isn't considered very difficult, but he's gained a lot of fans in spite of that thsnks to his design, what happens during the fight against him in Knuckles's story (which I won't spoil), and of course, SMBX. "I'll crush you!"
1:28 - In Sonic 3 & Knuckles, after gaining all seven Chaos Emeralds and reaching the & Knuckles stages, you can complete a second set of special stages to obtain the Super Emeralds, upgraded Chaos Emeralds that grant the ability to use the more powerful Hyper Sonic and Hyper Knuckles transformations, as well as Tails' super form in the pre-Origins versions and Hyper Tails in Origins. This is not considered canon by Sega.
1:30 - Divine Sealing is a bootleg Mega Drive sh'mup that's best known for... how do I put it without it getting caught in the filter? Nudity, at least.
1:33 - Self-explanatory.
1:35 - Due to an oversight, the final boss of standalone Sonic 3, Big Arms, has an attack that can damage Super Sonic. This was patched in & Knuckles and Origins, though.
1:37 - Doomsday Zone is a Super/Hyper Sonic-only zone where the final boss of Sonic & Knuckles (and 3K) is fought, and it's easy to crash into things.
1:39 - There's a common myth that Michael Jackson and his team left Sonic 3's development because he didn't like the sound of the Genesis/Mega Drive's sound hardware.
1:41 - The Act 1 boss theme in Sonic 3's original release was contributed by Michael Jackson's sound team, and uses a lot of prerecorded audio samples ("*glass shatter* woo!", "hey!", "come on!", etc.) and... yeah, they tend to be used a lot in other Genesis/Mega Drive and MD-esque covers.
1:43 - Could be referencing the great Hydrocity debate, where nobody can settle on a consistent pronunciation. Or maybe referencing people [over]analyzing why Hydrocity's considered a good water level.
1:50 - doilus stage (read: there's a visual bug which causes the title card for the "gumball machine" bonus stage shown here to bug out if you access it from the stage select and hit normal "completion" conditions. doilus stage)
If you catch a mistake, let me know!
Thank you for this expert analysis

SMBZ fans in disappointment when Mecha Sonic Mk. 2 doesn't beat them to death DBZ style
It sucks that some Sonic fanboys have a reputation of slandering on the design of Sonic all the time.
Nobody hates SEGA more than a SEGA fan
ok well, I get why
older games it's fine, but I'm afraid for the new games and how that'll look with the current 3d sonic design if nothing changes in the future
Sonic fanboys tend to say more than their mouth can.
Prototype fanatics starting their third beta recreation project this month
Marble Garden haters trying to find their way in the most linear map imaginable (they got lost)
Sonic Fans when a Classic Sonic game doesn't have Green Hill Zone:
When I first heard this in Sonic 3, I burst into tears of joy. So glad history is being preserved here.
Doomsday zone with Daffy Duck killed me lmao

A Sonic slander without a single mention about Yuji Naka committing tax fraud and assorted scams? For shame
Sonic fans trying to be grateful for 0.0001 seconds:
I am!
1:03 you didn't have to remind us of the marble garden 2 boss, but thanks anyways
Another excellent rip from the Silvagunner team. Not only was the music high quality, but the added shitposts made for an enjoyable viewing experience.

Another banger going to my playlist
Me getting home from -hell- school in 1994:
Well yeah, mecha sonic is pretty easy, but it is also cool. I mean, i say easy, it's easy like any sonic boss, if you don't care about keeping high rings, I'd say it's fairly troubling to jump all around and about it, keeping vigilant, if you get some bad attacks. Still very fun, though, regardless of if it's easy or not.
Me vibing to the Sonic 3 OST:

Micheal Jackson being sampled for STH3 was so slanderous that it was struck from public memory...
I'd be a bit impressed if we could get this for the Kirby Super Star Arena music.
1:46 it took me a while to get it, but that’s really clever.
Remember when for the first boss of Sonic 3 Robotnik danced shirtless in a pink jumpsuit?
Oh thank god there are visuals this time. Thought I'd have to make up my own slander again.
