    That switch and keycap combo turned out really nice sounding. Plus, that pcb was so beautiful to look at I could bear-ly contain myself!

    So nice! I actually like the alu/bean mount plate foam only sound! Surprising. I usually prefer the softness on the fr4. Beautiful board. I would love a 75 knob version too

      I was so surprised to find out a I prefer the alu plate in this board - I've tried only a handful of alu plates, but they were too pingy for my taste.. But this one is more like high-pitched creamy(if that makes sense?)

    That´s a great board and build. I really like that the ball catch system is becoming more popular nowadays, I hope it becomes the standard, even on budget boards. One thing that always gets my attention is when people say that they found their ¨endgame¨board. Why would you want to reach the end of a hobby? I don´t get that. Besides, how do you know that in the future, something better won´t be released by someone? In my case case I would say, ¨my favorite board so far.¨ But anyway, that´s just me.

    • @thoccnology
      @thoccnology  3 місяці тому +1

      I totally agree, I've literally never used the 'endgame' phrase before (and believe me, I won't use it in the future either :D). It's just that I personally prefer 75% keyboards, and only occasionally use TKLs (I more like prefer them to their looks). Of course I will review more TKLs in the future, it's not that I'm not interested in them. It's more like this keyboard features a combination that perfectly fits my taste (the color, the sound profile, the weight, the backplate design, the keycaps I used, etc.) and I voted this keyboard to be 'MY DEDICATED TKL'. Like with one's boyfriend/girlfriend - you might get to know prettier, nicer people in the future, but why change every time if the current one is already perfect for you. :)

    • @TheBigGiant_SpaceChiken
      @TheBigGiant_SpaceChiken 3 місяці тому

      @@thoccnology I understand you. If it´s perfect for you, then it´s perfect for you! But you never know, in the future some other board might come out that is more perfect for you.
      That´s been my case anyway. Whenever I think that something I like won´t be topped, bam it happenes LOL.

      @@TheBigGiant_SpaceChiken That's true. :) Anyway, I hate the word 'endgame'. :D It's my precious, ferocious crimson keyboard, with the very special place in my heart, that's for sure ^^

    You have been buying so many keyboards recently. I can't wait for you to host a big givewaway?
    Also I noticed that you wrote that the keycaps are double-shot but on the website it says they are dye-sub pbt.
    Dye-sub mostly gives a slightly deeper sound if I understand correctly?

    • @thoccnology
      @thoccnology  3 місяці тому

      Oh, damn, I mistyped it, sorry! As you say, it's dye-sub!
      Hm, I think the material thickness has a bigger impact on the sound, but yeah, maybe the complete uniformity of the material results in a deeper sound.

    i love it :D The Theme is super cute and it looks very quality. I like the sound generally on all the versions, i recently found that i dont like the sound of most spacebars tho? i think ill experiment with some dampened switches for my keebs spacebar when ever i get it ( still waiting for my ND75 🥲). Having a heavy keyboard is likely my preference so seeing that this one was 2.4kg is awesome, i always like when my tech feels substantial, Metal and weight just makes it feel more premium ^^ Also was that clipper the one included with the ender 3 👀? I got an ender 3 v2 so just couldnt stop thinking about it x) Thanks for the review

      Haha, OK, that's enough.. you know me too well! It's indeed from the Ender 3! :D
      I can say that spacebar sound preference causes the biggest difference from person to person, and what is the most difficult to perfect. Oh, maybe some silent switches with heavy springs for your spacebar? :0

    Is there a reason you could measure the 2.4hz mode?

    • @thoccnology
      @thoccnology  3 місяці тому

      I've come across recently with multiple PCBs that were not working in 2.4G mode. I found several threads on DC servers where people complain about the bad quality of 2.4G connections. (I feel they all feature the same wireless unit, at least the dongles are identical) It's said that recent keyboards feature a cca. 15-20% fault rate.
      It's something that factories and sellers can easily solve by sending replacements though, so not a huge issue.

    • @thoccnology
      @thoccnology  3 місяці тому

      @@Prss0161 Hm, it's hard to say - I've seen very bad and very good latency results coming from a brand's different keyboards, which might be the situation with GMK boards too. But the tendency is that brands now get access to better PCBs for a cheaper price so they have no reason to 'cheap out' on it anymore. So there's a chance that the GMK81 is better now.
