In my honest opinion this would be the best time to implement kreate a fighter considering all the "variants" and multiversal clashing would kind of (going with the now seemingly timeline lore stuff) all the different variants would be "our kreated" characters when i seen the mk1 story bringing in the Armageddon pyramid and all the diffrent timeline characters. Just saying IF YA GONNA DO IT WOULD BE THE RIGHT TIME WHILE ITS STILL A POINT IF NOT REASON TO DO IT.

They could totally go the generic fatality route where there could be a list of fatalities to choose from. It's hard to believe those guys over at Netherealm Studios haven't thought of this. It's sucks how we can get that stuff out of Tekken and Street Fighter but not MK. Idk why they can't add Test Your Might, Test Your Sight and Test Your Luck to the game when especially with Test Your Might And Test Your Luck we have the mechanics and modifiers right there.
I feel the best way to go about kreate-a-fighter would be, like you said, being able to select character movesets and selecting from a few pre-made movesets that don't belong to anyone which might suffer a bit from being more generic but it's something. They could do the same thing with fatalities, "X-rays", and walk-ins. There might be a bit a hurdle with intro dialogue but they could just have a generic "stare and growl" sort of thing that any and all characters do when there's a kreated fighter in the mix.
It’s one of the big reasons I can’t stand Ed Boon he’s so ignorant and annoying. Drahmin has a good size fanbase and Ed Boon doesn’t like that at all he’s just being a complete A-Hole he always has been. 🤷🏻♂️

Changing Shao into a horned devil with a battle ax, that even still has similar combos & attacks, plus all of the mash-up type of characters makes me think they are trying to tell us that create-a-character is coming. They typically do not come right out & tell us what's coming very much. Boon let it out that Animalities were back before the game dropped & that was surprising. Out of character for Ed.

Watched it on youtube, I really love the graphics, music, and some of the story at least. Power Scaling kind of dumb, a lot of plot holes was there, and the ending could of been a lot better. At least this was a lot better than the live action movies that we got, I still hold MK 1 Live action Movie in my heart. All I want is another Shaloin Monks Game with the cinematic treatment
It's a travesty that Hotaru wasn't in the game, you have Havik in the game and as the main big bad of the dlc expansion but not his main adversary. BS! I feel like Kreate-a-fighter would be so simple to make these days. Give the moveset of one the characters on the roster, and then maybe pick a different character's X-ray and Fatalities. I think they just don't want to do it or make the effort, same with Tag-Team.
Also, this day in age, with all the technology and money that netherrealm has made, there's no reason they can't make an amazing kreate a fighter for us! That would give the games new breath. I feel like, with the last several games, I grow bored after the first like two weeks after release.
How about a whole konquest game. Instead of making it a background feature make it a game. Open world. Story based similar to Last of Us. Possibilities are endless.
About Hotaru and Drahmin "we talked about how they could be Kameo's" and then instead they went with something like Janet Cage, lol, Boon really has a dirty taste in characters... Dominic (the worst writer in the history of mankind) said he couldn't make something up for Order and Hotaru, that's why they leave him out, they can't make up good stories for Order-based powers and characters because you need INTELLIGENCE to write a good story about that, you see what they did with chaos, that ain't chaos, that is stupid.
Create-a-character had it's limitations. Everything that you had at your disposal, as far as basic attacks, combos, throws & special moves went, all of it was taken from the other characters in the game. You could not just put shit together willy-nilly however the fvck you wanted to. You had a certain amount of choices that you could put together. You are correct about just giving your characters the pre-existing ones but I _do_ think it's coming. Their excuse before was always that WB Games didn't want to invest the time involved in creating the mode & this would be a good time for them to do it with 4 years of service coming to this game.
What’s so interesting about this game is that the art, gameplay, and vision are all there. But on the business an content side it can’t hold the model. It’s the best playing and artistically peak yet it’s incomplete
The reason for not putting in Kreate-a-khatacter is easily solved. Add a create a fatality. Boom, done. Do it step by step whise. Like when you choose a specific first step, you can only choose other options to fit into the first option. Beginning, middle, end (finish off). First step, kick balls, so he is on his knees. Then for example, rip off both arms. Then as a finisher, either choose an option to still use the arms, or throw them away and finish him of with ripping off his head or something.
Kreate-A-fighter is what everyone needs back considering a lot of a new fighting games are having character creators like streetfighter six with the world tour mode so it would make sense for Mortal Kombat to have it as well.

The best way to do the Kreate a Fighter would be the wrestling system. They kinda had this in mk11 with custom fighters to use in towers. You choose specific moves, intro's, fatalities, and animalities, from a list of each that's already in the game and maybe add a few custom one's from the nrs team specifically for Kreate a Fighter. Then you have a list of intro's, moves, fatalities, animalities, and outro's that the players could add to their created fighter. Then if they decide to sell extra Kreate a Fighter fatalities in the store, I don't think people would be mad about it like they were with the holiday fatalities. It's a win win! This is something people have been wanting forever. It's not a hard thing to do. For God sakes between mk11 and mk1 with the purchasable holiday fatalities this has already been done but without custom characters. The holiday fatalities weren't remade for every single character in the game. It was made once and the characters are replaced in the animation. I use unreal engine and I know how easy it is to do this. Rendering out scenes in real-time is one thing that makes unreal engine stand out from any other game engine and since mk vs dcu they've been using unreal engine
Kreate a fighter would fit in so perfect here. Each custom fighter would be a Shujinko variant . Especially if we follow the rules of pasting other fighters moves into the custom fighters move set
I always figured we'd get something relating to kreate a fighter because all the randomized enemies in story mode and invasions. Also because of the extra character slot on the roster.
They could just have a standard kustom fighter move-set with fatalities that all kustom fighters use no matter what they look like. There are a few different ways they could do it. Definitely a cop out answer...
to be fair, mortal kombat as a series has a unique issue where their biggest gimmick (blood and gore) make it so that they have to put exponentially more thought and effort into each character interaction. for example, they cant just add in a character thats a different size since that would fundamentally change the way the fatalities and the fatal blows will work on that character. youll have a character like shujinko doing his heart exploding fatality on someones lower abs or something. this is why every single kitbashed character in invasions just explodes into gore when you beat them rather than letting you do a brutality or other finisher. since fatalities and xrays are such an important part of the mortal kombat brand, i dont see them sacrificing it anytime soon.
Do you understand the appeal of a custom character? Even if they have no original moves, being able to just go crazy and make whatever you want and play it is the appeal. Otherwise, people would never play created characters in Soul Calibur.
@kazueglassheardt7185 I get where your coming from but this game works is that everyone’s kit is designed around them and them alone, they are made for the soul purpose of functioning with that one character alone which gives the characters very clear strengths and weaknesses and diverse playstyles. You take that away and every kustom character is either beyond overpowered or borderline unplayable with little to no in between, and it just ends up being a boring mess where you just do whatever you want, which sounds awesome but is really damn boring it’s either onesided or a sluggish stalemate

I think it would be cool to have a kreate a fighter type mode based on the end of the story. You would have one base character and then add on a couple special moves or strings from a different character on the roster. I think you could put together a pretty fun game mode with that
They could also try to do what Epic Games did and incorporate a sort of Creative Versus Mode where you can customize your own fighter and Kameo partner before you jump in. You can even select whichever move sets spark your interest, whichever brutalities/fatalities are your favorites, and then test them out in both online or local versus modes
Drahmin and Hotaru need to comeback as charcters. NOT KAMEOS. forget these repeated legacy charcaters, give them a rest already. And tehse guest charcaters need to go!
What I would have done with Armageddon, is I would have just given everyone their previous fatalities from Deception and Deadly Alliance, and the only new fatalities they would have to do is for the characters we hadn’t seen since before the 3D Era, and maybe add one new one for the Deadly Alliance characters that weren’t in Deception. Would be cool if you could just assign existing fatalities to create a characters… in Armageddon or a modern game.
That makes a lot of sense, though I would be willing to wait the extra years it would take to make it happen the way Ed Boon describes. I'd also be down for Dynasty's idea of modeling it after Soul Calibur and having the characters use the moves from the regular MK characters. I also agree that it would also be cool if there were fatalities that you could pick from that are exclusive to the Kreate-a-Fighter characters. I'm a writer and martial arts is my genre, so being able to make my OCs in Mortal Kombat again. A lot of my characters are not as brutal as MK characters though, so I would be concerned with them ripping people apart. Ideally, I'd want the exclusive fatality idea for this, especially if they had options that were significantly less brutal than others.
I mean they can literally give the option to choose any 2 fatalitys that we have unlocked from any character in the game to put on The Kreate A Fighter. simple , there lazy
With the technology of AI coming out, it should be no problem having different fatalities for a creative fighter soon enough. The Al could create various fatalities based on whatever you wanted
KAF should use classic cheap fatalities from mk-mk3 like JC’s head pop, torso rip, scorpions double cut, subzeros spine rip, lui kings spinning kick. Clothes from mk1-mk7. Special moves from mk-mk7. Create own bio. Snap a photo for character portrait and towers. Then as a new mk game comes out, update the same KAF to add the new mk games items.
I'd rather they just improve on the next game. Give us multiplayer how we have it now (without kameos) and improve the story mode. Allow kreate a fighter and run it more like Elder Scrolls. Even with controls being two different schemes, fans won't have troubles learning it as most are already adept at the multiplayer controls.
Hotaru & Drahmin are pretty much the last two 3D era characters that have potential. Hopefully if they don’t make the cut for MK1 we can get them in the sequel.

We must have create a fighter and konquest back in mortal kombat. One way they can fix it is by letting us choose which finisher from the fighters we want to use it’s still the same as the normal fighter so that can save some time there. We also need the mini games back like chess Kombat I really liked that one. Once IJ3 trailers start showing up we should be content with that game for a while until the trailers for MK2 start dropping around 2029-30 maybe also if AI is advanced enough by that time maybe it can help them with game production and get the flaws ironed out sooner and being able to release the game quicker.
I mean you could create the fighter based on a mix of scorpion and reptile and give it a fatality from each of those characters, give it 2 of the existing fatalities in the game.

I could see Kreate a Fighter being brought over to Injustice in some form. Injustice doesn't use finishers, so it would just be focused on creating movesets.
They could do a create a Karachter by the clan you put them in. (for example: Brotherhood of Shadow) and have them have Quan Chi's/Noob's special moves and fatality system
Create a character doesn’t work for fighting games because it takes away from the actual cast of characters… Why bother picking Scorpion when I can just give my own made up character his moves.. it happens all the time in wrestling games but it also works for those games just given the nature of the sport. Tekken has the right idea with its insane character customization system. You can make Jin look like Leon Kennedy but it’s still Jin.
Just make it so that if you wanna use Kreate a Fighter online that it's only in private matches or it's own mode then that way you don't have to play against it in Kombat league. Street Fighter 6 lets you fight with your characters in the lobby but in the actucal online matches you can't.

As far as KREATE A FIGHTER: Why can’t they take a page out of MASS EFFECT’S book and have a story mode starring our created fighter (with set moves) and after we beat the game, we can play with them in the main roster
If the support for this game actually lasts longer than previous games, they should bring kreate a fighter back. But if they’re gonna cut it short like MK11, I don’t think it’s even worth it in my opinion. And fingers crossed that we get a shaolin monks/ Armageddon type of game next. Please NRS 🤞
Kreate-a-Fighter could still be very do-able. Have an improved version of the Armageddon fatality system where there are a bunch of different things to do on a fatality timeline or something, strung together similar to the current fatal blows between kameo and main character. Intros could probably be left out (was the case in launch-day ranked and most towers), win screens could be similar to MK11 customization or also left out entirely. These little cinematics really aren't necessary for such a mode.

Nah just like how they did the new story mode how main roster characters had a universal fatal blow as a kameo in the chaos reign story mode. And how the invasion characters that are half and half of other characters could have been applied to a create a fighter mode and either assign the fatalities and movesets based on the fighter we chose as are based form to build from.
This has been my argument for Kreate-a-fighter from the beginning. Nobody wants to see other character's fatalities, and the fatality system in Armageddon was horrendous. The only logical way to do it is have multiple fatalities in the creation mode, but then you have the issues of whether your character has weapons and what type. It's just a lot to try and do in this game.
The simplest way to do Kreate-a-fighter would be to copy story mode/invasions. Choose 2 fighters to mash together e.g Sub Zero and Omni-Man. If you select Sub Zero first, you get mostly his moveset and his fatalities, whereas you pick Omni-Man first you get mainly his moves/fatalities. Sort of a Primary/Secondary fighter, one in each slot. They've proved countless times it works in Story and Invasions so why not put in a little more effort and add it to the game? It's a simple answer to a feature players want.
IMO, id rather them have the Kreate a fighter in MK2/13 and possibly have the kharacter play a part in the story. I mean you gotta think about it: They just brought back Animalities, something we havent seen since MK3, friendships in 11, brutalities in X, and etc. i would love it for it to come back but thats too much in one game, eventho its gonna be around for a while. if NRS do KAC in this game, what are they gonna do in MK2/13?

Watched it on youtube, I really love the graphics, music, and some of the story at least. Power Scaling kind of dumb, a lot of plot holes was there, and the ending could of been a lot better. At least this was a lot better than the live action movies that we got, I still hold MK 1 Live action Movie in my heart. All I want is another Shaloin Monks Game with the cinematic treatment

I feel like Kreate-a-fighter would be so simple to make these days. Give the moveset of one the characters on the roster, and then maybe pick a different character's X-ray and Fatalities. I think they just don't want to do it or make the effort, same with Tag-Team.
Also, this day in age, with all the technology and money that netherrealm has made, there's no reason they can't make an amazing kreate a fighter for us! That would give the games new breath. I feel like, with the last several games, I grow bored after the first like two weeks after release.

Create-a-character had it's limitations. Everything that you had at your disposal, as far as basic attacks, combos, throws & special moves went, all of it was taken from the other characters in the game. You could not just put shit together willy-nilly however the fvck you wanted to. You had a certain amount of choices that you could put together. You are correct about just giving your characters the pre-existing ones but I _do_ think it's coming. Their excuse before was always that WB Games didn't want to invest the time involved in creating the mode & this would be a good time for them to do it with 4 years of service coming to this game.

The reason for not putting in Kreate-a-khatacter is easily solved. Add a create a fatality. Boom, done. Do it step by step whise. Like when you choose a specific first step, you can only choose other options to fit into the first option.
Beginning, middle, end (finish off).
First step, kick balls, so he is on his knees. Then for example, rip off both arms. Then as a finisher, either choose an option to still use the arms, or throw them away and finish him of with ripping off his head or something.
Kreate-A-fighter is what everyone needs back considering a lot of a new fighting games are having character creators like streetfighter six with the world tour mode so it would make sense for Mortal Kombat to have it as well.

The best way to do the Kreate a Fighter would be the wrestling system. They kinda had this in mk11 with custom fighters to use in towers. You choose specific moves, intro's, fatalities, and animalities, from a list of each that's already in the game and maybe add a few custom one's from the nrs team specifically for Kreate a Fighter. Then you have a list of intro's, moves, fatalities, animalities, and outro's that the players could add to their created fighter. Then if they decide to sell extra Kreate a Fighter fatalities in the store, I don't think people would be mad about it like they were with the holiday fatalities. It's a win win! This is something people have been wanting forever. It's not a hard thing to do. For God sakes between mk11 and mk1 with the purchasable holiday fatalities this has already been done but without custom characters. The holiday fatalities weren't remade for every single character in the game. It was made once and the characters are replaced in the animation. I use unreal engine and I know how easy it is to do this. Rendering out scenes in real-time is one thing that makes unreal engine stand out from any other game engine and since mk vs dcu they've been using unreal engine
Create a fatality mode where all the exclusive fatalities are and you get to mix and match the best lethal blows for it.
Kreate a fighter would fit in so perfect here. Each custom fighter would be a Shujinko variant . Especially if we follow the rules of pasting other fighters moves into the custom fighters move set
I always figured we'd get something relating to kreate a fighter because all the randomized enemies in story mode and invasions. Also because of the extra character slot on the roster.
They could just have a standard kustom fighter move-set with fatalities that all kustom fighters use no matter what they look like. There are a few different ways they could do it. Definitely a cop out answer...

to be fair, mortal kombat as a series has a unique issue where their biggest gimmick (blood and gore) make it so that they have to put exponentially more thought and effort into each character interaction. for example, they cant just add in a character thats a different size since that would fundamentally change the way the fatalities and the fatal blows will work on that character. youll have a character like shujinko doing his heart exploding fatality on someones lower abs or something. this is why every single kitbashed character in invasions just explodes into gore when you beat them rather than letting you do a brutality or other finisher. since fatalities and xrays are such an important part of the mortal kombat brand, i dont see them sacrificing it anytime soon.

Do you understand the appeal of a custom character? Even if they have no original moves, being able to just go crazy and make whatever you want and play it is the appeal. Otherwise, people would never play created characters in Soul Calibur.
@kazueglassheardt7185 I get where your coming from but this game works is that everyone’s kit is designed around them and them alone, they are made for the soul purpose of functioning with that one character alone which gives the characters very clear strengths and weaknesses and diverse playstyles. You take that away and every kustom character is either beyond overpowered or borderline unplayable with little to no in between, and it just ends up being a boring mess where you just do whatever you want, which sounds awesome but is really damn boring it’s either onesided or a sluggish stalemate

I think it would be cool to have a kreate a fighter type mode based on the end of the story. You would have one base character and then add on a couple special moves or strings from a different character on the roster. I think you could put together a pretty fun game mode with that

If Create A Fighter is put in, this will be my favorite MK again. Right now Armageddon is.
They could also try to do what Epic Games did and incorporate a sort of Creative Versus Mode where you can customize your own fighter and Kameo partner before you jump in. You can even select whichever move sets spark your interest, whichever brutalities/fatalities are your favorites, and then test them out in both online or local versus modes
I thoroughly believe theyre going for Soul Calibur 6s character creation system, with all the hybrids were getting and all.

What I would have done with Armageddon, is I would have just given everyone their previous fatalities from Deception and Deadly Alliance, and the only new fatalities they would have to do is for the characters we hadn’t seen since before the 3D Era, and maybe add one new one for the Deadly Alliance characters that weren’t in Deception.
Would be cool if you could just assign existing fatalities to create a characters… in Armageddon or a modern game.
That makes a lot of sense, though I would be willing to wait the extra years it would take to make it happen the way Ed Boon describes. I'd also be down for Dynasty's idea of modeling it after Soul Calibur and having the characters use the moves from the regular MK characters. I also agree that it would also be cool if there were fatalities that you could pick from that are exclusive to the Kreate-a-Fighter characters. I'm a writer and martial arts is my genre, so being able to make my OCs in Mortal Kombat again. A lot of my characters are not as brutal as MK characters though, so I would be concerned with them ripping people apart. Ideally, I'd want the exclusive fatality idea for this, especially if they had options that were significantly less brutal than others.
I mean they can literally give the option to choose any 2 fatalitys that we have unlocked from any character in the game to put on The Kreate A Fighter. simple , there lazy
With the technology of AI coming out, it should be no problem having different fatalities for a creative fighter soon enough. The Al could create various fatalities based on whatever you wanted
Creating our own character from the looks and abilities of the established roster would legit save this game for me.
KAF should use classic cheap fatalities from mk-mk3 like JC’s head pop, torso rip, scorpions double cut, subzeros spine rip, lui kings spinning kick. Clothes from mk1-mk7. Special moves from mk-mk7. Create own bio. Snap a photo for character portrait and towers. Then as a new mk game comes out, update the same KAF to add the new mk games items.
I'd rather they just improve on the next game. Give us multiplayer how we have it now (without kameos) and improve the story mode. Allow kreate a fighter and run it more like Elder Scrolls. Even with controls being two different schemes, fans won't have troubles learning it as most are already adept at the multiplayer controls.
Hotaru & Drahmin are pretty much the last two 3D era characters that have potential. Hopefully if they don’t make the cut for MK1 we can get them in the sequel.

They could do so much with Hotaru and Drahmin… but ESPECIALLY Hotaru. I say this as a nightwolf main but if you can do cool stuff with a generic native with spirit abilities- you can do the same thing with other worldly characters

We must have create a fighter and konquest back in mortal kombat. One way they can fix it is by letting us choose which finisher from the fighters we want to use it’s still the same as the normal fighter so that can save some time there. We also need the mini games back like chess Kombat I really liked that one. Once IJ3 trailers start showing up we should be content with that game for a while until the trailers for MK2 start dropping around 2029-30 maybe also if AI is advanced enough by that time maybe it can help them with game production and get the flaws ironed out sooner and being able to release the game quicker.
I mean you could create the fighter based on a mix of scorpion and reptile and give it a fatality from each of those characters, give it 2 of the existing fatalities in the game.

I could see Kreate a Fighter being brought over to Injustice in some form. Injustice doesn't use finishers, so it would just be focused on creating movesets.
They could do a create a Karachter by the clan you put them in. (for example: Brotherhood of Shadow) and have them have Quan Chi's/Noob's special moves and fatality system

Create a character doesn’t work for fighting games because it takes away from the actual cast of characters… Why bother picking Scorpion when I can just give my own made up character his moves.. it happens all the time in wrestling games but it also works for those games just given the nature of the sport.
Tekken has the right idea with its insane character customization system. You can make Jin look like Leon Kennedy but it’s still Jin.
Just make it so that if you wanna use Kreate a Fighter online that it's only in private matches or it's own mode then that way you don't have to play against it in Kombat league. Street Fighter 6 lets you fight with your characters in the lobby but in the actucal online matches you can't.

As far as KREATE A FIGHTER: Why can’t they take a page out of MASS EFFECT’S book and have a story mode starring our created fighter (with set moves) and after we beat the game, we can play with them in the main roster
They could also just create a few fatalities that function like “faction kills.”
They should do splice a character where you chose a combo between 2 characters and then you get their finishers and move set.
In Soucalibur III, Create a Fighter had their own fighting styles
If the support for this game actually lasts longer than previous games, they should bring kreate a fighter back. But if they’re gonna cut it short like MK11, I don’t think it’s even worth it in my opinion. And fingers crossed that we get a shaolin monks/ Armageddon type of game next. Please NRS 🤞

Kreate-a-Fighter could still be very do-able. Have an improved version of the Armageddon fatality system where there are a bunch of different things to do on a fatality timeline or something, strung together similar to the current fatal blows between kameo and main character. Intros could probably be left out (was the case in launch-day ranked and most towers), win screens could be similar to MK11 customization or also left out entirely. These little cinematics really aren't necessary for such a mode.

Nah just like how they did the new story mode how main roster characters had a universal fatal blow as a kameo in the chaos reign story mode. And how the invasion characters that are half and half of other characters could have been applied to a create a fighter mode and either assign the fatalities and movesets based on the fighter we chose as are based form to build from.

This has been my argument for Kreate-a-fighter from the beginning. Nobody wants to see other character's fatalities, and the fatality system in Armageddon was horrendous. The only logical way to do it is have multiple fatalities in the creation mode, but then you have the issues of whether your character has weapons and what type. It's just a lot to try and do in this game.
The simplest way to do Kreate-a-fighter would be to copy story mode/invasions. Choose 2 fighters to mash together e.g Sub Zero and Omni-Man. If you select Sub Zero first, you get mostly his moveset and his fatalities, whereas you pick Omni-Man first you get mainly his moves/fatalities. Sort of a Primary/Secondary fighter, one in each slot. They've proved countless times it works in Story and Invasions so why not put in a little more effort and add it to the game? It's a simple answer to a feature players want.
