Eh, like the other commentator said, DLC’s are almost always cut content. Fromsoft for example always adds cut content from their main games into their DLC’s.

Things I wanted to see: 1) Answers to questions from the base MK1 story. I was kind of expecting Titan Havik to be the mastermind behind Tarkat and Jerrod's death since those mysteries were never resolved. 2. A little more insight to this Emperor Yin. His dragon army really served no purpose in the MK1 base, but we get some backstory in which he led Outworld in a conflict against Earth Realm. 3. The other realms represented. Again, we get another Mortal Kombat without seeing how anything other than how decisions affect Earth Realm and Outworld. We got Chaos realm to a degree, but it still just looked like a screwed up version of Outworld. What's going on with Order Realm, Nether Realm, the Nexus, etc. 3. Something consequential happening like losing a major character or even losing an entire realm. The fights in Havik's coliseum presented the perfect opportunity for this. Like Kung Lao, Raiden, and Johnny Cage should have all ended up in the Coliseum fighting for their lives, realm, and timeline. 5. Empress Mileena has an escaped General Shao mounting a rebellion that we don't really see. This could've been an opportunity to show the parallels between Liu Lang and Titan Havik's timeline: chaos has even reached Liu Kang's timeline before Havik even arrives. 6. Titan Havik made more of a boss than Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, whom I feel like they wasted both. Why is NR Studios so obsessed with turning MK villains into mad scientists. These are Titans. They already turned Shang Tsung into a somewhat harmless alchemist (aside from killing Reptile's family) and Quan Chi has some sorcery, but is nowehere near as ruthless as he once was. 7. Noob Saibot was the best thing to happen to Khaos Reigns. Only thing they could've did better was show us the transformation from Sub Zero to Noob Saibot. 8. I wished they didn't waste story on Emperor Rain and Empress Tanya. There's so much they could've done with base Rain and Tanya. Rain killing the people of Order Realm at Havik's request in his ending was boss. His remorse after having done it added layers to him. Having him join Liu Kang to bring Havik down would've further built on his story. Maybe he becomes Emperor in Chaos Realm after Havik's defeat. With Tanya, maybe she also travels to Chaos Realm and in doing so unlocks the full potential of her power, which include allowing her to communicate with dragons. Maybe the end credits show her with Onaga, and she successfully tames him unknowingly to the benefit of General Shao who plans to unleash him on the realms.
The entire DLC honestly felt pointless. The final battle was very underwhelming. They hyped it up to the point where you would think “Oh shit! Someone is gonna die!” Nobody important does. On the plus side atleast. Noob, Cyrax, and Sektor are the most fun they ever were. Love playing Sektor especially.
I mean... Technically Bi-Han DID die. But Havik resurrected him as Noob Saibot. So, aside from Emporer Rain, no one of any real consequence died. I really feel disappointed about the current state of MK's story telling. Compare this to MK 9, X, hell even 11 had some major consequences that were felt from character deaths. MK 1 just feels too... Safe. It did a great job in re-imagining the characters of the fighting game franchise and making us care about them. But there's no stakes, all of the characters more or less are still alive, and there is no real story intrigue outside of what was presented in the beginning. The Netherrealm Trilogy just did a better job with its story telling and character plotlines.
I feel like their trying to set up multiple DLC’s first havoc, eventually shao and the rebels. Hell even hotaru might show up but they simply dropped the ball on khaos reigns which left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth now WB might scrap the whole project entirely.
Doubling down on the timeline/multiverse stuff was the worst choice they could've made when writing MK1. Now the fans have no reason to give a shit about any of the characters or events when a new version can just replace them if they die. On top of the actual plot, they've had a problem with the story mode fights amd who wins or loses since MK9. Hopefully the just take a break and reboot again (as nitty as it would be, it might be the best choice) or they find a good way to end the multiverse shit right away in the next game and establish way more conflict and stop turning bad guys into good guys.

Dynasty, look up the ladder endings for Noob cyrax and sektor, it follows after the events of the story. Also look up Sektor’s ending first as Noob’s ending follows immediately after Sektor’s and it’s weird without that context
Anyone else notice how bad the audio mixing was for the first chapters. Loving the new score though, but I couldn’t continue the story bc of how unbalanced the mix was.
First one ill be holding off til a discount arrives. Been enjoying Space Marine 2 and the free updates for MK1 w/animalities have kept me satiated until i decide to pull trigger. I tried all 3 kharacters, noob is cool. Them aint my cyrax and sektor😅

Khaos Reigns was mid, actually a bit less than mid. There were some parts I enjoyed and again Cyrax and Sektor worked well here, but other than that, it was pretty underwhelming

Honestly what I would do is release another dlc expansion that’s Khaos Reigns Part 2 where we see Titan Havik come back and we get the stakes raised and more of an explanation on the kamidogu and essentially give us what we were expecting/wanting in Khaos Reigns. There’s still a lot of questions the dlc set up without answers
I felt like I was like excited while playing the dlc and found it very intriguing but then it just stops and I got no answers to the things that were intriguing me. Just felt pointless. It’s like nrs was just teasing me the whole time. It’s feels like foreplay for part 2.
i think it was bad and short and diss like the whole DLC is full price game, a mini story and 2 characters and 3 on post-launch . The main game is still there from before. at least the post-launch characters should been there NOW. cuz right now i payed for cyrax and sector only, for my use of the game. The single player part is not something u do the next 5 years vs pvp and gameplay mechanics or more moves.
On another note I feel like they should’ve shown a bit of a back story of the cybernetic Lin-Kuei and the fall of the recent grandmaster and how Cyrus and sector was chosen. So far Kano, Jax, Sonya and plenty of other characters are not really characters in the time line. And they NEVER shown the GREAT KUNG LAO and how him and lui-kang met. I just feel as if they’re missing a lot of story and back story
There is absolutely nothing good about this writing. No power consistency with even a titan losing to weak characters, of course the new black female character beats everyone no problem, many Deus ex machina moments, no lore and logic consistency, Havik only talks and does nothing, its pointless nothing moves forward.
The story looked rushed and sped up, nothing had time to breathe. All the opponents are variant henchmen which makes this feel like story filler. Pretty much a story based on invasions mode. I feel sorry for the people who paid for this.

The Mileena vs Kotal storyline, and the Sub-Zero reforming the Lin Kuei storyline were way more interesting. They deserved more screen time than the corny kombat kids.
Kronika needs to come back and reset this whole ass timeline. Half serious with that, but to be really honest? This whole timeline is ass and we really need to go back to the basics. It was pretty bad tbh , MK1s story was already pretty rushed and trash I had slight hope maybe the DLC will fill in what was clearly lacking but nope , the dialog was cringe and writing was rather bad , I also did not like cyrax at all from her awful accent and annoying character ugh. Idk for 50$ there isn’t much there , not a lot of rewards , sure towers at back but there literally just towers removed form invasions nothing more and I also think this was by far the weakest introduction to noob too. Idk I do not see this expansion extending the life for long and especially not at 50$.
It was alright. Noob is fun to play. Mixed feelings on Cyrax and Sektor. While they are fun to play, I just don't see them as Cyrax and Sektor. They feel like completely new characters who both use power armors. I don't know why they didn't just make them their own unique thing.

Sektor is not faithful to the gameplay of male version,in the other hand this Cyrax is like the twin of the one From MK9.That is what I liked about Cyrax

I would like Bi-Han to have his pesonality from Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub-Zero. There he was somehow honorable, he shown compasion and mercy to Sareena and after Raiden explained him that what he did was extremely wrong regarding Shinnok's amulet he goes back to the Neatherrealm, face Shinnok, managing to survive him and retrieve the amulet to Raiden. Also in MK 11, I remember that in Noob Saibot's interactions with Fujin, they talked about the events from Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub-Zero so that Noob Saibot was the Bi-Han from that game. Also, it would have been nice having Sareena (the one from MK X) trying to somehow make Noob Saibot get cleansed of the evil which corrupted him by Quan Chi and not converting a character's gender for the sake of puting Noob Saibot in a some sort of a relationship with that character. I would love to see some sort of an ,,Anti-hero" Noob Saibot, making a great character in the story. That's my point of view.
The dlc was all charcters that never had any playable chapters in any Mortal Kombat Game before except Cyrax. A theme I noticed for most of the MK1 base story which is the main thing I appreciate about the WHOLE game.

I’m really glad I didn’t pay for the dlc and just watched it. I was super disappointed with how they hyped up noob and he gets handled by the crew easily (the “fight” with scorpion was lame af) then all of a sudden he has titan destroying powers by the end of the next chapter? HUH?! Super wack and disappointing.
Biggest gripes were the final battle, the characters we were forced to play Rain and Tanya (they're nowhere near OG MK characters), the opponents we fought in the last few scenes were released early in Kombat league so were not surprising. Poor use of kamidogu as well, even a slight teaser of the return of Onaga would've been enough to save the story from mediocrity
Sektor role should have been for Sareena or Frost who are Kameos they gender swap the male Sektor for nothing and she was getting on my nerves being in love and so obsessed with Bi-han.
The story wasn't horrible for me personally but i'm so tired of all the different variants of characters. who gives a hell about fighting scorpion number 560 with this costume or li mei 428 with that costume. Please after this game, DROP all the multiverse garbage to make things meaningful again.
It was ok. The cast of characters is a 100% downgrade from the main story so that right there is a huge miss. Sektor is almost as unlikable as Bi Han. Scorpion does nothing outside being an escort on this yellow school bus field trip. I wish the Johnny they used was the younger one from MK11 as he was funny but I do think they only reason WWII Johnny is in this game is to say that Hitler line so not only they can pat themselves on the back but brainrot twitter users can pat them on the back before taking them inside through the back entrance. Anyway, it was ok. Nice to see MK11 Raiden.

I mean, this the worst story out of all the MKs. I don't like how this timeline all the characters are weaker versions of their OG selves. And honestly the other games had more moves and just more for the characters. MK1 has good graphics. But story and lore wise just absolutely mediocre and overused timeline crap.
They could've easily added an extra hour of cutscenes and gameplay if they decided to do a smoke side plot. So this is the way I see it, the Lin kuei attack the wedding and in the ambush sektor and bihan escape while they kidnap harumi and smoke. Cyrax still goes against the Lin kuei and joins scorpion in the beginning to help aid against bihan and help harumi and smoke. Next, we would see smoke being dragged to a testing facility added by sektor and the new cyber initiative. Here we see him and harumi imprisoned and awaiting testing on prototype suits for the cyber Lin kuei, guinea pigs pretty much. Smoke is unfortunate even with his best efforts he can't beat the enhancements the suit gives sektor. His smoke powers just aren't enough as sektor can easily detect where he is and can easily use the suits weapons against him. He is then "killed" and used to fit the suit prototype, which is the classic cyber smoke suit and classic cyber ninja skins. Cyrax, scorpion, along with liu kang and with the help of kitana and a small army break into the facility and witness what they've done to him and what they'll do to harumi, quick fight with cyber smoke and you confront sektor and bihan fight them and capture them for their crimes and save harumi and smoke. Cyrax is able to help smoke in a way by restoring his memory and break free from their control but he can never be turned back fully into himself since all that's really left is inside the prototype suit and without it he's dead and useless (At least for now). It would then go into the next part with the whole havik storyline.
After the DLC was finished, I was like wait, that’s it? I didn’t spend my $50 for nothing, not regretting the new players would like to unlock more of them.
Wasted my money preordering just for them to have the skins in the shop anyway, should’ve waited for a sale and watched it on UA-cam. Worst story they’ve ever done, no surprise villian, stupid ending. I’m never buying another netherrealm game day one. I’ll just wait for the ultimate edition. I’m sad too because i used to be a die hard fan but I’m so over it. Elden ring gave us basically a sequel for $40 and we got this for $50, insane.

This is why I don't look at leaks. My expectations don't get ruined, although I agree this was an underwhelming expansion. The story in Khaos Reigns makes MK 11 Aftermath seem like a masterpiece. Although to MK 11 Aftermath's credit, that was a good story expansion for a fighting game. This story was rushed. Somehow Titan Havik managed to seem like a jobber compared to MK 1's Titan Shang Tsung and extremely weak compared to both Kronika and the boss fight in MK 11 Aftermath, whether you chose to use Liu Kang or Shang Tsung. On the bright side, I'm enjoying the RE-USED Towers of Time being back (ridiculous by the way) and starting to get the stuff I hadn't gotten yet for each character. Unfortunately, paying $50 for content that for the most part I have completed the majority of the best of doesn't feel good. Invasions Mode took about as long as the story, that's disappointing. The gameplay and other stuff was good at least. I guess I will do the repetitive Towers of Time to get the main roster and Kameo roster mastery for each character done. That's about the only thing I have to complete that's left.
It’s insane how NRS brought “RNG mechanics” into the actual “story”. Let’s be real “RNG” is the only way Tanya beat Noob lol! Also they finally made Noob an actual “noob” by getting his “shit pushed in” by Tanya of all people. Apparently Havik decided to not carry over Bi-Han’s fight prowess to Noob. Which actually could’ve been a decent story beat due to Havik not wanting Noob to be able to “Black Noir from The Boys comics” his ass, which he then ironically and ultimately failed in preventing.
I remember watching ur video about the leaked script last year but totally Forgot everything about it and the only thing that sounded familiar while watching the story was Jonathan Cage lol

Anyone else notice how bad the audio mixing was for the first chapters. Loving the new score though, but I couldn’t continue the story bc of how unbalanced the mix was.

With all the backlash mk1 has gotten since launch I'd be surprised if nobody gets fired at nrs honestly. Little too much like a marvel movie for my liking.
Khaos Reigns was mid, actually a bit less than mid. There were some parts I enjoyed and again Cyrax and Sektor worked well here, but other than that, it was pretty underwhelming

Honestly what I would do is release another dlc expansion that’s Khaos Reigns Part 2 where we see Titan Havik come back and we get the stakes raised and more of an explanation on the kamidogu and essentially give us what we were expecting/wanting in Khaos Reigns. There’s still a lot of questions the dlc set up without answers
I felt like I was like excited while playing the dlc and found it very intriguing but then it just stops and I got no answers to the things that were intriguing me. Just felt pointless. It’s like nrs was just teasing me the whole time. It’s feels like foreplay for part 2.

i think it was bad and short and diss like the whole DLC is full price game, a mini story and 2 characters and 3 on post-launch . The main game is still there from before. at least the post-launch characters should been there NOW. cuz right now i payed for cyrax and sector only, for my use of the game. The single player part is not something u do the next 5 years vs pvp and gameplay mechanics or more moves.

The story had a good premise, but a poor execution, and as others have said, it ended way too abruptly and weird.
On another note I feel like they should’ve shown a bit of a back story of the cybernetic Lin-Kuei and the fall of the recent grandmaster and how Cyrus and sector was chosen. So far Kano, Jax, Sonya and plenty of other characters are not really characters in the time line. And they NEVER shown the GREAT KUNG LAO and how him and lui-kang met. I just feel as if they’re missing a lot of story and back story
There is absolutely nothing good about this writing. No power consistency with even a titan losing to weak characters, of course the new black female character beats everyone no problem, many Deus ex machina moments, no lore and logic consistency, Havik only talks and does nothing, its pointless nothing moves forward.
I hear chaos and anarchy 10 times throughout the DLC 😂
I like that they added challenges to earn crystals and retry option on the difficult towers

The story looked rushed and sped up, nothing had time to breathe. All the opponents are variant henchmen which makes this feel like story filler. Pretty much a story based on invasions mode. I feel sorry for the people who paid for this.
The Armageddon style climax in the first story wayyyy more chaotic vs the coliseum and maze I can see Shang Tsung doing

The Mileena vs Kotal storyline, and the Sub-Zero reforming the Lin Kuei storyline were way more interesting.

This should not have costed $50. The story was okay but felt like wasted potential. And the ending felt rushed to me with Havik being defeated and not knowing what happened to him afterwards. Once again, wasted potential.

Nothing major happens in this story it's like what's the point? We don't even know what happened to Titan Havik the story should picked up after all the characters canon endings from the first story.
The DLC wasn't great. the story felt rushed and there was not enough time to progress our prime universe characters. Where the vanilla campaign was paced well enough, the dlc was way too rushed and we just go on a roller coaster of scene to scene: the forest, the reused cyber initiative room, the wedding, edenia and the alt-universe chaos realm. Geras again was wasted, bro is just there to collect a paycheck lol, i kinda wish we had his mk11 version, cause that one at least did some things. Is it taboo to talk about the cyber ninjas? idk but i dont care for em, man or woman they dont do jack sh*t in any timeline.

Story mode for khaos Reigns was shitty and way to short. Nothing made sense. Everything felt rushed smdh. And to top it off no ending after the ending credits lmao looks like we all got scammed for $50. Was not worth it but hey hopefully NR can get it together for pt 3 if there is one lmao.
It was pretty bad tbh , MK1s story was already pretty rushed and trash I had slight hope maybe the DLC will fill in what was clearly lacking but nope , the dialog was cringe and writing was rather bad , I also did not like cyrax at all from her awful accent and annoying character ugh. Idk for 50$ there isn’t much there , not a lot of rewards , sure towers at back but there literally just towers removed form invasions nothing more and I also think this was by far the weakest introduction to noob too. Idk I do not see this expansion extending the life for long and especially not at 50$.
It was alright. Noob is fun to play. Mixed feelings on Cyrax and Sektor. While they are fun to play, I just don't see them as Cyrax and Sektor. They feel like completely new characters who both use power armors. I don't know why they didn't just make them their own unique thing.

I would like Bi-Han to have his pesonality from Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub-Zero. There he was somehow honorable, he shown compasion and mercy to Sareena and after Raiden explained him that what he did was extremely wrong regarding Shinnok's amulet he goes back to the Neatherrealm, face Shinnok, managing to survive him and retrieve the amulet to Raiden.
Also in MK 11, I remember that in Noob Saibot's interactions with Fujin, they talked about the events from Mortal Kombat Mythologies Sub-Zero so that Noob Saibot was the Bi-Han from that game.
Also, it would have been nice having Sareena (the one from MK X) trying to somehow make Noob Saibot get cleansed of the evil which corrupted him by Quan Chi and not converting a character's gender for the sake of puting Noob Saibot in a some sort of a relationship with that character.
I would love to see some sort of an ,,Anti-hero" Noob Saibot, making a great character in the story.

The dlc was all charcters that never had any playable chapters in any Mortal Kombat Game before except Cyrax. A theme I noticed for most of the MK1 base story which is the main thing I appreciate about the WHOLE game.
We should all boycott the game until we get another expansion because this was way to underwhelming all the money they have made and all the new technology available and this is all we got I’m just pissed at the result we received

I was super disappointed with how they hyped up noob and he gets handled by the crew easily (the “fight” with scorpion was lame af) then all of a sudden he has titan destroying powers by the end of the next chapter? HUH?! Super wack and disappointing.

Biggest gripes were the final battle, the characters we were forced to play Rain and Tanya (they're nowhere near OG MK characters), the opponents we fought in the last few scenes were released early in Kombat league so were not surprising. Poor use of kamidogu as well, even a slight teaser of the return of Onaga would've been enough to save the story from mediocrity
Sektor role should have been for Sareena or Frost who are Kameos they gender swap the male Sektor for nothing and she was getting on my nerves being in love and so obsessed with Bi-han.

The story wasn't horrible for me personally but i'm so tired of all the different variants of characters. who gives a hell about fighting scorpion number 560 with this costume or li mei 428 with that costume. Please after this game, DROP all the multiverse garbage to make things meaningful again.
It was ok. The cast of characters is a 100% downgrade from the main story so that right there is a huge miss. Sektor is almost as unlikable as Bi Han. Scorpion does nothing outside being an escort on this yellow school bus field trip. I wish the Johnny they used was the younger one from MK11 as he was funny but I do think they only reason WWII Johnny is in this game is to say that Hitler line so not only they can pat themselves on the back but brainrot twitter users can pat them on the back before taking them inside through the back entrance. Anyway, it was ok. Nice to see MK11 Raiden.
It’s a dope game. I really don’t understand all of the hate from tons of people. Great cinematic. Great story. It’s a video game not a 10/10 movie production, give the MK team a break. Look how good all of gameplay and graphics are.

I mean, this the worst story out of all the MKs. I don't like how this timeline all the characters are weaker versions of their OG selves. And honestly the other games had more moves and just more for the characters. MK1 has good graphics. But story and lore wise just absolutely mediocre and overused timeline crap.

So glad I never bought the game. It looks great…just everything else seems frustrating
They could've easily added an extra hour of cutscenes and gameplay if they decided to do a smoke side plot. So this is the way I see it, the Lin kuei attack the wedding and in the ambush sektor and bihan escape while they kidnap harumi and smoke. Cyrax still goes against the Lin kuei and joins scorpion in the beginning to help aid against bihan and help harumi and smoke. Next, we would see smoke being dragged to a testing facility added by sektor and the new cyber initiative. Here we see him and harumi imprisoned and awaiting testing on prototype suits for the cyber Lin kuei, guinea pigs pretty much. Smoke is unfortunate even with his best efforts he can't beat the enhancements the suit gives sektor. His smoke powers just aren't enough as sektor can easily detect where he is and can easily use the suits weapons against him. He is then "killed" and used to fit the suit prototype, which is the classic cyber smoke suit and classic cyber ninja skins. Cyrax, scorpion, along with liu kang and with the help of kitana and a small army break into the facility and witness what they've done to him and what they'll do to harumi, quick fight with cyber smoke and you confront sektor and bihan fight them and capture them for their crimes and save harumi and smoke. Cyrax is able to help smoke in a way by restoring his memory and break free from their control but he can never be turned back fully into himself since all that's really left is inside the prototype suit and without it he's dead and useless (At least for now). It would then go into the next part with the whole havik storyline.
After the DLC was finished, I was like wait, that’s it? I didn’t spend my $50 for nothing, not regretting the new players would like to unlock more of them.

This is why I don't look at leaks. My expectations don't get ruined, although I agree this was an underwhelming expansion. The story in Khaos Reigns makes MK 11 Aftermath seem like a masterpiece. Although to MK 11 Aftermath's credit, that was a good story expansion for a fighting game. This story was rushed. Somehow Titan Havik managed to seem like a jobber compared to MK 1's Titan Shang Tsung and extremely weak compared to both Kronika and the boss fight in MK 11 Aftermath, whether you chose to use Liu Kang or Shang Tsung. On the bright side, I'm enjoying the RE-USED Towers of Time being back (ridiculous by the way) and starting to get the stuff I hadn't gotten yet for each character. Unfortunately, paying $50 for content that for the most part I have completed the majority of the best of doesn't feel good. Invasions Mode took about as long as the story, that's disappointing. The gameplay and other stuff was good at least. I guess I will do the repetitive Towers of Time to get the main roster and Kameo roster mastery for each character done. That's about the only thing I have to complete that's left.

Also they finally made Noob an actual “noob” by getting his “shit pushed in” by Tanya of all people. Apparently Havik decided to not carry over Bi-Han’s fight prowess to Noob. Which actually could’ve been a decent story beat due to Havik not wanting Noob to be able to “Black Noir from The Boys comics” his ass, which he then ironically and ultimately failed in preventing.
The story wasn’t all that good but I’m still hyped for the guest characters and enjoy playing as Noob again
