I was surprised too, so one day i looked up his studio and called in pretending to be a journalist. I got to him after one secretary and he really is how he is in his show. I panicked and just said i was a fan and we went back and forth for a min or two then said goodbye. Weird human, but Nice guy 😂

Crowder claimed to know nothing about Sam but yet in the span on 7 minutes he said that Sam was a failed stand up comedian who had no live shows online, so obviously Crowder has searched thoroughly throughout the internet trying to find Sam’s stand up, he claimed the majority report hasn’t done anything funny or entertaining so he’s obviously watched a lot in order for him to know that, and he knew that Sam ended his show early last Friday in order to go on Ethan’s to debate him so he was monitoring Sam’s show because he was terrified of having to talk to him. Sounds like Crowder knows a lot about Sam to me.

@@keithfilibeck2390 I’m a big MMA fan and this reminds me of when people say a fighter is scared of someone. It’s not that they are scared to do what they do all the time. There just isn’t an upside. Nothing to gain. Crowder has had debates on his show and his change my mind segment routinely puts him at odds with all kinds of people. Some smart and some not so much. I doubt he is scared but rather doesn’t see the upside in debating a known grifter who is trying to piggyback of Crowders name and popularity.

He engages in debates all the time in his "change my mind" segment (yes they are debates, no matter what he says) which have only the upside of him having an obvious advantage over random unprepared college kids so he can make himself look good (no matter how smart a college kid might be, there is a big advantage afforded to Crowder by his control of the mic and having all the opportunity to prep vs others having zero prep).
Yeah I guess you could argue that debating someone who he has no chance of embarrassing like he does a freshman doesn't have an upside, but it sort of belies his whole shtick about being about engagement with the ideas, entering the arena and so on.
Also there's no way you could actually watch Crowder stammering through that, clenching his fists, having the camera duck away from him, listening the quavering in his voice and think he wasn't absolutely panicked lol.
Sam is too irrelevant to debate but random 19 year old college students are worthy opponents. Uh-huh.

Especially considering he never debated anyone high profile. If he just said “this is bad faith and I don’t engage in bad faith debate, have a good day.” That would have been a good response.

I believe, Steven* did it because, Ethan was also hiding himself behind Sam Seder. Not sure, though. I came to find both sides quite immature and emotional.

Ethan also agreed to a one on one man to man talk with crowder without any gotchas or anything of the sort. I found out about this drama from aba and preach and watched both sides and crowder was the only one to back up his claims with dm’s. Everything Ethan and Sam were saying were just pointless insults that didn’t have any factual basis.

I don't think there is anything Crowder could have done to make it look worse to be honest. He should have just acted like an adult, done the debate, taken the L and then have his audience say he won and had the moral high ground anyway because of the ambush. I think the criticism towards Crowder is a little unfair.
Obviously it's kinda sad that he won't debate Seder, but I totally understand not wanting to debate someone who acts in bad faith. And I would consider ambushing someone during a pre-planned event is bad faith. H3H3 and Seder both acted in bad faith by planning this "ambush".

he actually had heart problems at this time that eventually led to needing surgery. The problem caused him to have shortness of breath and points where he couldn't speak. He was not making it public knowledge at the time but months later explained why he had been short of breath in several episodes and that was also why he was bringing in more hosts so he could take a break from talking all the time while he caught his breath.

It doesn't reflect well on anyone that makes those types of comments. But Destiny cut off Crowder's show before Crowder showed the emails explicitly agreeing to things like "one on one" and "no tricks or gimmicks" and agreeing to talk to the agreed topics with Ethan. There is something to be said about refusing to entertain a situation created on false pretenses. Could Crowder be hiding behind that to avoid a conversation with Seder? Of course, but imo it doesn't reflect poorly on crowder to not have a conversation with Seder under a bait and switch. On the other hand the types of comments he made did all the heavy lifting in defining the character of Crowder.

Well that's a reference to a stereotype of beady eyes. I think the reason that this was brought up is because Sam is kinda doing himself a disfavor by confirming he was complicit in lying and being unprofessional for his own personal gain. If you're going to lie, act dishonestly and act in bad faith then people are going to point that out. Beady eyes are a strong reference to malice, dishonesty and hostility. To support people who are liars, manipulators and bad faith actors in genuine debate is really what the joke is here, eugh, kinda gross, I think left learning people can do better quite frankly.
