He's absolutely right about the water damage analogy. I do it for a living too and have done it for years with multiple restoration companies. We go way further for insurance claims than private jobs because the insurance companies have years of experience working with us and know what standards to hold us to. They act very much like a regulatory body in that sense. Private work we do base level work for. Not necessarily to be shady and do half assed work intentionally though. It is because our services are not cheap. The hourly rate for technicians is about $60-65/h. The dehumidifiers and fans we charge a daily rental fee for. 1 DH is about $120/day. Air movers (fans) are about $35/day. With insurance companies we stuff as much equipment in as possible because we can bill for it. On a private job we will try to manage the total cost and keep it more reasonable for the client. The problem is with private jobs we are more likely to miss something that could lead to further more expensive problems down the road. With insurance companies if we miss something they will act as a regulatory body and come back to us demanding we make things right at our expense. A client on a private job could attempt to do the same but because insurance companies have preferred vendor lists that restoration companies battle to get onto, we always put up less of a fight with insurance companies. They are our "cash cow" relatively speaking so we really try not to upset them.
Dude I hate that Dave Rubin CLEARLY read some Ayn Rand, and instead of taking away the individualism, personal responsibility, self actualization, and standing up for your principles, he just wants to take away building codes and food labels. It's like a true 90 IQ take on a 1-deminsional view on capitalism.
But that is the take away every Rand fan seems to have... almost like it's the real main message (arbitrary hierarchies that are "just" simply by existing so using any method to climb them is circularly justified in the end by the higher position on the ladder, just a central part of conservative thought).
i mean ayn rand would 100% support him in taking away building codes and food labels. she was out of her mind, and spent her last year on social security which in her ideal society wouldnt exist as she would be dying on the street.

What I don't get is why people think building inspectors would cease to exist without government or regulations. Like, suddenly people just don't want a 3rd party to verify their home is safe and their investment won't collapse? The main example given why it would be a bad thing was 3rd world countries... Bad example as the entire premise of a country being 3rd world is that their economy and society is really shitty and undeveloped. 3rd world countries that do have regulations and laws often aren't followed or enforced, while in 1st world countries they are. Isn't it pretty obvious why that's the case? But the argument is essentially that regulations alone are what make the difference between a 1st world and 3rd world country. They just need a little more government, guys!
Why would anyone on the right try to use “the villain in most movies are x”, as some kind of talking point? More movies probably portray a businessman or a capitalist as the villain, so shouldn’t that make Tim Pool hate capitalism?

@@michaeldromes3948 Calling M4A a garbage healthcare policy in a country with the worst healthcare outcomes (commonwealth fund study) and the most expensive cost in the developed world seems rather short sighted. Also M4A doesn't ban private insurance. Private insurance still exists for the more supplementary and non-essential forms of medicine not covered by Medicare for all. This isn't unlike other developed countries. For example France's universal single payer healthcare covers 75% of all healthcare costs but also offers supplementary medicine, known as the "private version". Except it's not private in the way people in the US think about it. It is required by law to be a nonforprofit mutual, which returns any extra money back to those who are policyholders. There are no stockholders, they are strictly regulated by the government, for most situations they exist to cover the leftover prices - the 45% of elective medication costs not covered by the sociale, certain optic surgeries, advanced dental work, or if you want elective doctor visits that would not be covered by the rest. It is completely different to the idea of US private system in that the US private system is for profit and the French private system is non profit. This is just one example of a European country to give an example. Finally, a vast majority of the EU private options grew OUT of the already existing public healthcare services, rather than the U.S.'s attempt to do the reverse. This is a a major point in why many people have issues with private insurance currently, its stranglehold on the market and pricing is deeply intrenched in a completely unique way.

Exactly. If a professional engineer's duty to the public's safety is to be upheld at all, it requires something like tort law or disciplinary action by a self-regulated association of engineers. Both of those require setting out a clear description of the duty of care, meaning both are basically regulated therein. What lefty doesn't think that markets aren't real or that they don't work? Did I miss something here? 🤨
@@pizzasteve9503 Reread my statement. Markets can exist in leftist movements. There's entire encyclopedias on this school of thought. Within leftist, anarchist, socialist and even communist ideologies markets can exist. Idk why ppl keep making this error.
There should be a nuanced take on the market. The market is great for the common man when the market booms. Its when the market busts that a wage worker is laid off; followed by a market failure wherein a wage worker will face lower wage or higher price.
I'm glad Destiny is focusing some on right wingers. I would add to his statements that markets only work when there's competition and capitalism naturally leads to monopolies that over time become more and more effective at killing competition. And it's generally through anti-competitive tactics and not via offering a better product for less money. To other comments there is such a thing as market socialism. Many leftists think there are pros and cons to markets and think that the next step forward won't be to abolish markets, but to change how businesses are operated so that they are more democratic.

There is something culty about people like Rubin and Candace Owens because they are so dogmatic and ride the cock of any ideology full force

But that is the take away every Rand fan seems to have... almost like it's the real main message (arbitrary hierarchies that are "just" simply by existing so using any method to climb them is circularly justified in the end by the higher position on the ladder, just a central part of conservative thought).

@@michaeldromes3948 but he ran on M4A last time also? Pretty sure he didn't lose cause of M4A?

Destiny says real life is like league of legends, but really its like warzone because Dan carries everyone to victory.
When I watched he had atleast 10 kills on the board. Dan's that special unlockable character of the streaming world.
I'm ironically in the process of trying to get some water damage restoration done in my basement. Didn't come for that information but sure was helpful! 😂
I came for the reality check, I stayed for the introduction to carpet cleaning logistics
The League and StarCraft comparison was spot on 🤌🏻
Candace and Rubin are the worst offenders in this compilation (to me). You can tell they really don't have a grasp on their stance. Candace is so much worse because she's so unapologetic about it, and so full on. Rubin, only on select issues, and he at least tries to keep his garden clean.
But dave rubin is more intelligent than candace owens
@@accountnotfound4209 for sure
@@accountnotfound4209 That's not saying much. A lobotomized dog is smarter than Candace.
The example you explained about water damage was something I'm pretty familiar with. I did that kind of work for about a year and yeah, insurance involvement means you definitely charge for as much as you can justify. The person who mentioned that insurance jobs can be shitty because of people trying to get paid without doing the work is frankly the difference between good companies who want to do honest work and shitty companies that don't give a shit one way or the other as long as they get paid.
It’s nice to see you learning and sharing that knowledge about taxes and the effects and purposes of tax law
What lefty doesn't think that markets aren't real or that they don't work? Isn't the lefty critique that markets, if they should exist, need to be prosocial instead of anti social and a reallocation of the means of production from a private system to a more public, federated or communal system. Did I miss something here? 🤨
you're describing socdems and like...some lefties. most leftists just want to abolish markets and the commodity form and shit.
Many leftists think there are pros and cons to markets and think that the next step forward won't be to abolish markets, but to change how businesses are operated so that they are more democratic.
my basic rule of thumb is markets work with regulation for the companies and support systems for the people
Aw yeah, this one’s gonna be good.
my mate smoked out driving is a menace. Driving 140km/h, overtaking aggressively while smiling and not giving a fuck
This is what I needed right in my FEEEED.
Darryl seems like a bloke you can have a drink with......and get it thrown all over you for disagreeing that it's not quite as good as another beer 🍻
Def need that on a bumper sticker -- Life is like LoL
hope whoever runs this channel sees this but what is the intro song ive looked up the title and tried a bunch of different things. would appreciate ty.,
I clear sign of dishonest debate is when the person says they agree with your point that rebuts something they said, but want to move on from that point without ever addressing how your original point is now bunk.
