Yes, I wear the the brown scapular faithfully through prayer and observance of my baptism and love for Christ and His Mother. Yes, I have encountered a protection from Mary, Queen of my Heart and Carmel from my birth to NEW LIFE! She has been a Mother to me most DEFINITELY! lifeofcatholicgirl.blogspot.com/2022/05/she-is-my-mother-in-heaven.html
no, a priest made me interview to be enrolled in it and then denied me. He said he doesnt want mass enrollment in it and also that he doesnt want anyone joining for the benefits of it. Im really sad about it. Thats the 2nd priest who turned me away.
When I felt lost, I wrote my diary with what Mary had showed me or intercede for me. I was really surprised I dulled the diary up so quickly. Our Holy Mother is helping and bringing me to the love of Our Lord
Great addition to my formation. I was aware of Simon Stock contribution to the Brown Scapular. This however takes it to another level. Thank You and God Bless!
Educational and inspirational. Thanks. Blessings for all Carmelites. May many through their efforts and prayer come to know and embrace the path of Carmel...Come let us climb the mountain of the Lord and be instructed in His ways.
Fr Michael Joseph My son's name is Michael Joseph. He's 7 years old and he's has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. There is no cure. Would you please pray for a cure for my Michael Joseph? 🙏 Thank you. God bless
Actually looking to start wearing the Brown scapular, currently I wear the black one for Our Lady of Seven Sorrows. Very informative thank you for this video!
I have recently been considering getting enrolled in the brown scapular devotion. It’s been difficult to find anywhere that specifically lists which prayers are to be said daily. This video is one of the only places that I found even a brief mention. (Thank you)… Is there a website or something that specifically lists the duties/requirements of what you’re ‘signing up for’ in regards to daily participation in this devotion once enrolled? I want to be adequately prepared before I make my commitment so as to fulfill it diligently and properly. Thank you! 🌹
Hi Father, I get conflicting infos., please clarify. 1.Does the scapular medal carries all the same promises as the cloth/wool scapular? 2. Is it true that we shouldn’t replace the cloth scapular without a valid reason? 3. Does the scapular still needs to be made of 100% woven wool or that has changed? 4. Is it true that the scapular cord shouldn’t have a break of material such that of a necklace clamp/closure? 5. Do we still need the permission of a priest to pray the rosaty instead of the Divine office? Thank you!!!!
Hello, in response to your questions: 1. Yes, it carries the same promises 2. Whatever reason a person might have is okay, this is the point for the medal, a person should not have a scruple about wearing it instead. 3. No, this is not necessary 4. This does not matter, usually, it wouldn’t even be an issue 5. None of that is necessary for the scapular devotion, what you mention is in regards to the Sabbatine privilege, and you can pray the rosary in place of the Divine office (which actually was not the Divine office per se, but the little office of the Blessed Virgin Mary) and do not need permission from a priest. A priest, though, should do the investiture of the scapular. ICS Publications Thank you soooo, soooo much I have been searching for these answers online for a long long time... it’s either lay people argue on catholic forums, or we get infos from carmelite sisters who are not with the church (schism?), or from super traditional scrupulous sites......thank you for the clarifications...God bless you more!!!!
Hi Geoffrey! Thanks for your question. Yes, anyone can wear a scapular, even if they are not yet baptized. However, you cannot be formally enrolled in the scapular until you are baptized since the scapular is a deepening of the promises made at baptism. Praying that your baptism is in the near future!
Pretty bad when they fire a happy priest like you! Lol...or maybe it is pretty sad! I see you take it in good humor. It was probably a test! Made you a better man! Thanks for bring so pleasant to watch!
Maybe we could make an episode on this topic in the future. For now, here's a resource that talks about the Brigittine Rosary: patroncatholicsaints.blogspot.com/p/how-to-pray-brigittine-and-carmelite.html
Hello, can a deacon bless a scapular? Because the deacon in who i have bless the scapular with will become a priest in the next few months, from that is it a valid blessing? Thank you very much.
Why jp2 is mentioned so many times. His name is mentioned all over the catholic sites. I think they are instructed to mention his name by Rome. What happens to our saints throughout the centuries. He uttered many heresies. He led the meetings of assisi. From their fruits you know them. Our churches are empty and loss of faith etc..
Early Carmelites often interpreted the small cloud Elijah saw on Mount Carmel in 1 Kings 18 to symbolize the Blessed Virgin Mary, appearing to bring the long expected rain of God's love (Jesus), bringing an end to the great drought of sin.
Institution of the First Monks is not on the ICS website. I’ll google it. Also just tried sending an email thru the ICS email and it came back undelivered. So I’ll ask those next 2 questions here. Uh oh. Maybe 3. Sorry! 1. Do you all recite the 6 decade rosary in the manner of St Teresa? 2. Is there recorded the prayers she would have used at each decade? Is there a Carmel focused recitation of the rosary? I’ve been leaning on Louis de Montfort’s version. 3. Ah, nuts! I forgot 3. I am so grateful to you and ICS for offering these podcasts!!!
*THE IMMUTABLE LAW OF GOD* *I* I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me. *II* You shall not make for yourself a carved image-any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. *III* You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. *IV* Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. *V* Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you. *VI* You shall not murder. *VII* You shall not commit adultery. *VIII* You shall not steal. *IX* You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. *X* You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s. Exodus 20:2-17
Nothing takes away from the sacrifice of Christ. And nothing adds to it. The promise on the scapular reads WHOSOEVER DIES IN THIS GARMENT SHALL NOT SUFFER ETERNAL FIRE.” dead man comes back from the dead and said I have been saved through the most powerful queen and the habit of the blessed man. Sounds like he is taking away from Christ. It is through the blood of Christ we are saved not by a powerful queen and a piece of wool. Promises to those who wear it (according to pope John 22) The Blessed Virgin Mary promised to save those who wear the brown scapular from hell. She promised protect them from trials and temptations of the devil. Protection from trials and temptations of the devil. God does not even promise that. Are you free from temptations and trials of the devil? This promise renders the Lord's Prayer null and void. Why ask Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil? Takes away from the sacrifice of Christ. She also promised to shorten their stay in purgatory. She said that on Saturday after their death whosoever she founds on purgatory, she shall free and lead them to the holy mountain of life everlasting. There is no time in Eternity. Therefore there are no days of the week, there are no Saturdays. Lead to the holy mountain of life? After all this do you really believe the scapular does not take away from the sacrifice of Christ
This is really lovely.BUT where was Mary's protection for the Israelis massacred by Hamas's and the Gazans massacred by the Israelis. We dont know. So we can only walk in faith in God and not get bogged down in dare I say superstition. Still if it works for you
Do you wear a brown scapular? Have you ever had any experiences of Our Lady's protection and grace through this beautiful sacramental?

Our Lady of Mt Carmel Pray for us. I love you dear Mother, beauty of Carmel!🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️
This has been worthwhile for me to learn more about Mary, origin of the brown scapular, sacred protection and grace. Thank you.

A beautiful program about the Brown Scapular. Particularly interesting to learn more about the history of the early Carmelites. Thanks and God bless!

Not familiar with what you said about Elijah 'seeing' the Virgin Mary ... what?
Early Carmelites often interpreted the small cloud Elijah saw on Mount Carmel in 1 Kings 18 to symbolize the Blessed Virgin Mary, appearing to bring the long expected rain of God's love (Jesus), bringing an end to the great drought of sin.
@@ICSPublications Wow. That will take some pondering on my part. Thanks for the info!
@@abassage655 You can read about this in The Institution of the First Monks (or Book of the First Monks), an important book in Carmelite tradition.
The brown scapular, a visible reminder ... , but we (OCDS) wear it INvisibly under our clothes .
