Fr. Grennon was our Regional Assistant years ago and visited our Cincinnati OCDS Community for a Day of Recollection. He made himself always available for us and gave wise direction. I could tell he was genuinely interested in the Secular Order and its spritual and physical growth.
Very inspiring episode. I had the pleasure of meeting Fr. Kieran Kavanaugh at a Carmelite Conference in Bakersfield, Calf. I have had the pleasure of studying his writings for many years and still do on John of the Cross and Theresa of Avila.
Today is Sunday, which the SoIenmity falls on this year.....is it still celebrated today? I am isolated from any Carmelites as I now live in Pensacola Florida.
Great question, Michael. All Carmelite Saints is categorized as a feast day, not a solemnity, which means the Sunday takes precedence over its observance. However, even though it's not celebrated liturgically, it can still be remembered and celebrated in other ways as we honor the Carmelite Saints!
