despite what the movies have been showing you the mutant struggle in X-Men was not inspired by the plight of the lbgt community. the characters of Professor X and Magneto are based on Dr. Martin Luther King and Malcolm X the entire struggle is a reflection of the Civil Rights Movement. this was said by Stan Lee himself. While the XMen are a beacon for all marginalized people it doesn’t feel right to overshadow the relevance of the source material’s original inspiration. It may not have been intentional but from my perspective it prioritizes one marginalized groups struggle over another.
I don't see how most of these examples are considered subliminal, they're more like allegorical themes. Subliminal messaging usually requires the filmmakers or advertisers burying an idea or message so it's picked up subconsciously.
Subliminal Messages are a single frame of a word or image that appear throughout the movie. Friedkin did quite a bit of it in The Exorcist and other of his films.
+Ryan Huff It's both. Generally speaking it's about the opressed, outcast and misunderstood. This fits several groups and individuals for different reasons...
+Harry Sampson IV you can't say African American anymore.. not all black ppl have African origins in their lineage. so they're just black ppl. PC is soooooo exhausting.

In the winter soldier, the theme of government becoming corrupt & using its power to create a totalitarian state wasn't subliminal. Like at all!!! The premise was spoon feed so heavy handed that a four year old could understand it.
True, the broader theke wasn'y, but the direct illuminati parallel kinda is. The trick is that subliminal messaging ceases to be subliminal when the viewer is conscious of it.
+Styles Bitchley the comic, cartoons and movies are bass off the way black people have been mistreated over the years. Anyone who say differently is a jackass. There was a plot in the comic and the 90's toon where muntans where treated like slaves, just like black people where treated like slaves in the past. Sure LGBT people had it rough but they were never slaves as far I know.
The comics are about civil rights, the movies are about gay rights. When the movies came out, racial tensions had been for the most part, pushed aside. The next frontier would be gay rights. There is also the fact that the actors playing magneto and professor x are both gay as well as the director mentioned in the vid
+Duncan Munro He also said "aw-cult" which was a bit unnerving, but maybe that's just me. Screen Rant (probably just this one guy) mispronounces so many things you'd think they'd make a video about it
Bitch please, Marvel comics even has a group called Illuminati which consists of Iron man, Black panther, Mr. fantastic, Prof. X, Namor, Black bolt, and Doctor Strange.
+duel4ever2012 well you do have to create comics for money but if you think that's the reason they made the team and called them the illuminati the I know your not a comic book fan or did your research before commenting.
The Lion King. Although Simba was tricked to leave the land he went to a place where he found peace trying to forget his past. Just to be found by Nala who escaped from Pride Rock, who basically said the Lion Kingdom need your help. Eventually he returned to free the Lions from the persecution of Scar. This is like the Exodus of Egypt from the bible. Moses kicked out of the land to return to set Gods people free. Not exact, but there is enough there to understand it.
Spare us the Christian allegory in Star Wars! It is well known that George Lucas based a lot of the story elements on universal mythological concepts found in hero journeys which he had read about in books by Joseph Campbell . The Jesus story contains many elements of mythology well established before Christianity which goes to show it follows an already established pattern.
My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, "If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately." Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- "Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because this video gave me cancer anyway.
It's not the director of the x-men movies who came up with the idea of mutants coming iut to their parents. This was also shown in the cartoon series and most probably in the original comic books.
This was actually a pretty well put together video Screen Rant I want you guys to try and do this more often lately you guys don't seem to be putting to much effort in your videos which is what made me subscribe.
X-Men was about the Civil Rights Movement: MLK Jr wanted harmony between all races = Professor X wanted harmony between humans & mutants; Malcolm X believed blacks should be self-sufficient = Magneto wanted mutants separate from regular humans

O k denominations were called religions because they were man made and are a division between man, God and the Gospel. True Christianity has nothing of the true meaning of religion which really means "doing good deeds to get to heaven". Also remember God called religious people whores and Jesus called them vipers or snakes which was the most offensive thing you could say back then as well as condemned it. On X-MEN : Moreover you can read the film like a metaphor of civil rights in 60's-70's America with Magneto/Malcolm X and Xavier/MLK, as Xavier defends cohabitation between humans and mutants and Magneto defends confrontation
Lucas was most influenced by Joseph Campbell, who wrote about comparative religion and mythology. He basically said all religions are based on myths, but that myths are a good and useful thing.

every artists work is informed by the world around them. theyre not subliminal messages. just because you see simililarities to the bible doesn't mean they were trying to put forth a christian message

Yeah full of cap that old man was
Exactly it's about Black ppl struggle
No it's about lbgtq
I thought everybody knew it was about the civil rights movement
🙄 Jeeze
Is the illuminati real??? Comment below!
yes it is I am the illuminati
+CringeOverload chill
No
Probally
I love videos on this topic
I don't see how most of these examples are considered subliminal, they're more like allegorical themes. Subliminal messaging usually requires the filmmakers or advertisers burying an idea or message so it's picked up subconsciously.
Subliminal Messages are a single frame of a word or image that appear throughout the movie. Friedkin did quite a bit of it in The Exorcist and other of his films.
X Men is civil rights movement. Magneto is Malcolm X. Professor X is Martin Luther King
yep
It's changed over the years. In the early 2000's it's been shifted.
Fun fact . The director is actually gay
+Kevin Swagg exactly
+ChanelDarkSide we already knew that and so is ian mckellan
You really missed the x-men point. The comic books and the resulting movies were written about race. Not gay rights
+Ryan Huff i'm happy you said it.
+Ryan Huff the part in x2 where ice man reveals himself as a mutant to his parents was written to directly mirror coming out the closet
+AmazingJoe96 fact. but that's not what xmen is solely, subliminally about, as this explanation suggests.
+Ryan Huff It's both. Generally speaking it's about the opressed, outcast and misunderstood. This fits several groups and individuals for different reasons...
Exactly it's the mutant race not mutant sexuality
2 Peter 3:3 ...."This first understand, that there shall come in the Last Days, Mockers, which will walk after their lusts."
Well the real idea behind X-Men is that Professor X represents Martin Luther King Jr, and that Magneto represents Malcolm X.
Yeah the X-men storyline waaaaaaay predates the whole LGB movement. Sure there are similarities, but it definitely wasn't based off that.
it's in movies, not the comics :^)
bucky !! So... lol
I was about to say that because it was inspired by MLK and Malcolm X.
+Harry Sampson IV you can't say African American anymore.. not all black ppl have African origins in their lineage. so they're just black ppl. PC is soooooo exhausting.
I think I've seen this video somewhere... oh yeah. here
ha lol

I thought the x men were a symbolism of the african Americans civil rights movement, with professor x being MLK and magneto being Malcolm X.
+Chris Naing Thats what Stan lee said in a interview, i dont know where they got it being about all of this lgbt stuff.
+birdman408 They say that to get views and so people argue about something.
+Chris Naing That's in the comics. This list is about the X-Men movies which do draw parallels to LGBT more than than the Civil Rights movement.
Director Forest
Actually no. The movies have been about civil rights for mutants. It's even pretty obvious in X-men the last stand.
duel4ever2012 Well there is no way in hell I'm going to watch the last stand again so I'll take your word for it
This video should really just be called messages in films. Seriously, almost none of these are subliminal.
Lol
What about now?
In the winter soldier, the theme of government becoming corrupt & using its power to create a totalitarian state wasn't subliminal. Like at all!!! The premise was spoon feed so heavy handed that a four year old could understand it.
+Cory Taylor In fact, my four year old cousin did understand it. No really.
this guy clearly doesnt know what subliminal meams lol
True, the broader theke wasn'y, but the direct illuminati parallel kinda is. The trick is that subliminal messaging ceases to be subliminal when the viewer is conscious of it.
lol soooo the winter soldier is about the eu?!
I thought it odd that those people where protesting the Wizard of Oz for having the idea of strength coming from within
4:59 The Matrix Reloaded is the greatest story ever told? WHAT!?
Not sure if purely joking, but the bible is often referred to as "The Greatest Story Ever Told"
Yeah, how did "Hollows" make it into the final cut of this?
Ok this is the 6th hidden message video from what I can tell.
+Oxi at least there wasnt an overload of disney films
+Pulse Fel Yeah. Disney has a TON of subliminal messages.
Harry Potter and the Deathly HALLOWS not 'Hollows'...
Yes!!!
I'd say weasly got Deathly Hollowed
+BloodRedRain72 Lol!!!!!! I get that reference
came to comments to say this lol
+Angellus Black if that is your crested gecko he / she is awesome!!!!
I'm fine with ads,
I'm fine with buffering,
But when ads buffer
I suffer
I don't think you know the definition of "subliminal message." Half of these are allusions or fan theories.
Star wars is the opposite of christian.
Yoda is literally a serpent witch doctor.
X-men part, NOT ABOUT GAYS, its about civil rights not gay rights....
Ask Brian Singer...
Y'know? The director! He straight up said it.
Jag.
+INFERNO95 I'm aware of X-Men lore...
Singer's X2 in particular was an alegory about homosexuality.
He's outright said it on multiple occasions.
+INFERNO95 the movies are based on gay prejudice but the comics are based on racial prejudice.
The comics are about civil rights, the movies are about gay rights. When the movies came out, racial tensions had been for the most part, pushed aside. The next frontier would be gay rights. There is also the fact that the actors playing magneto and professor x are both gay as well as the director mentioned in the vid
1:31 - "if you break it down..." *starts dancing*
D GENERATION X
hey man, I just want to say you make great videos. Keep it up!!! Great great videos.
Sorry, but it's "Hallows" not "Hollows"
ikr
I know, but I like calling it "Hollows" better. I don't know why, I just want to call it "Hollows" XD
wgaf?
+Duncan Munro He also said "aw-cult" which was a bit unnerving, but maybe that's just me. Screen Rant (probably just this one guy) mispronounces so many things you'd think they'd make a video about it
Hi
Thank you so much make more 💯💯
what's the purpose of these Hidden Subliminal Messages?
Too give people the chance to look for a deeper meaning in movies.
+It's Over 9000 Productions and make hundreds of youtube videos on them
EkzoVirus HD Gotta get them youtube views.
To glorify God or to brainwash you with government agendas.
Good one on star wars. Also The departed is an awesome movie.
The heaven scene in Harry Potter made me burst out laughing at the otherwise quiet theater, out of sheer irony.
@414 earthling Because he's a witch...
But can captain America melt steel beams?
He can deadweight a helicopter so probably
+Samsul Hoque mmmmmmmgfxddfdfr
Bitch please, Marvel comics even has a group called Illuminati which consists of Iron man, Black panther, Mr. fantastic, Prof. X, Namor, Black bolt, and Doctor Strange.
+Zach Fuderanan They must have been desperate for more money and fame to actually name a group that in the comics.
+duel4ever2012 your an idiot if you think that.
john jones
Oh really? If you can't make the connection, what does that make you?
+duel4ever2012 well you do have to create comics for money but if you think that's the reason they made the team and called them the illuminati the I know your not a comic book fan or did your research before commenting.
+Big Keef how
"Jk. Rowling turned to, The Greatest Story Ever Told."
And then he shows the Bible. LOVE that part hehe.
I'm a follower of the Old World Order. To bring back the days of kings and lords, where guns have been forsaken and swords are the weapon of choice.
The Lion King. Although Simba was tricked to leave the land he went to a place where he found peace trying to forget his past. +richardathome65 THANK YOU SO MUCH. I hate Christians taking stories their story was based on and saying it was theirs.
Wut?
Not only in the movies ... but it is present in video games and animation, and even in our daily lives ...⛅
hey guys... not every story where a hero is the chosen one, faces hardship, then wins is based on the Bible.... stop it....
Yeah, I got a really sanctimonious feeling from this.
Pretty sure x-men is about mlk(prof x) and Malcolm x's(magneto) fight and different views on civil rights.
Is subliminal is from devil work
Some of those theories were mighty thin.

and ends at 7:26 thank me now
+Hanz Elizabeth Ruth Forshaw thank you
+Green machine 27 and you said thank you thank me tonight
+xlou No need young padawan
+Josyah Lavina-Maldonado and u sau ty thank me later
X-Men was about the Civil Rights Movement: MLK Jr wanted harmony between all races = Professor X wanted harmony between humans & mutants; Malcolm X believed blacks should be self-sufficient = Magneto wanted mutants separate from regular humans
These aren't subliminal messages, these are just neat references.
5:50 imagine how you would feel, once you figured out, its not just a movie. what if i told you, the earth you live on. is flat? sounds silly, until it isnt
The Matrix made me question everything
Wizard of Oz is actually about the Fed Reserve and the switch from Gold backed money to fiat currency (the current dollar)
Its also about the overall economy. Steel workers have no heart, farmers have no brain and I forget the rest.
The bible isn't the greatest story ever told
+FieldGar The resurrection of Jesus he meant and his time on earth. Its inspired hundreds if not thousands of stories and writers.
+FieldGar True. But it is known as "The greatest story ever told"
When people say that, most of the time they're talking about Jesus' life.
In terms of historical and cultural importance it's probably the greatest and if you believe it to be true it's certainly the most important.
+FieldGar Yeah man, it would be cooler with sick fight scenes and telekinesis battles. n shit lmao
yes it is
+FieldGar In the eyes of a Christian it might be, I'm not Christian.
Wow after watching the Truman show I find this video and it makes so much sense
As a Christian, I'm not convinced a bit of the Star Wars one :P
+Drewbie Yeah they got that one completely wrong. It's actually based more on Taoism and eastern religion. The concept of balance between light/dark like the Yin Yang. Sure, they borrowed some from Christianity with the whole "immaculate conception" thing, but still, way more eastern influences.
The immaculate conception refers to Mary, not the virgin birth.
Well actually it's true a fight light and dark. That's what happens when you've got christians producing the movie
+Cougaraphics They're both eastern and western influence in Star Wars, yes which does include a lot of Christianity.
+Drewbie Well, you don't speak for all Christians.
ill add... in the shining, showing Jacks new years picture, he is gesturing "as above, so below" as in Baphomet.
the wizard of oz is a representation of the hidden hand in government.
There used to be a team named NWO ( New World Order) from WWE
FYI the Wizard of Oz is an allegory for the election of 1896, tackling issues such as tariffs and the gold standard.
That is one of the worst screen rant thumbnails I've ever seen
X files theme plays
+The Apax Predetor and they keep doing that shit
Every time I look at it I get more angry
just a question: why was it so bad?
The entire Wizard of Oz movie has dozens of subliminals.
worst screen rant video ive ever seen...
Brian Singer. Where have we heard his name???
JESUS loves y’all! GOD bless y’all! John 3:16!
Amen 💕
That The Departed one was pretty trippy
pro Christian much?
+James Duffy for basically everything
+Doruk Evcim all 2
+Doruk Evcim What wrong with be Christian I find it funny how we have to accept we every else's way of life but no one accept's ours totally not fair
ok i see now
+Julian Gamboa It seems that way, but if you really take notice, most, nearly all videos (in a similar fashion, if that makes sense) are about agnostic and atheistic themes, it just becomes more evident here because Christianity is not the norm
That moment when Screen Rant doesn't know the difference between July 4th and Columbus Day
The commentator appears to be forcing religion upon viewers. Which of course is extremely unethical and the video should be removed.
+Jack Jackson It should crucified no wait stoned to death wait hang on ritualistic sacrificed to a none existent being, no sorry that's what religions would do.
+Jack Jackson OH MY GOD YOU'RE RIGHT I AM CHRISTIAN NOW.
+kibordpengin A lot of young kids are that easily influenced, believe it or not. Why do you think the whole shipping them off to church at a really young age dynamic works so well?
It's so fucking annoying
How is it unethical?
cop: what is you're name?
man: my name is jafar
cop: where do you come from?
man: I come from afar
cop: what's that in you're car?
man: there's a bomb in my car
cop: get out of the car and put you're hands up!!!
man: alahakbar
Wizard of oz: really when it's a religion like Christianity or Jewish nobody complains but when it's atheism it's soooo bad bullshit if you ask me
Have you ever looked at any UA-cam comments? Anytime a video mentions Christianity there are literally hundreds of athiests attacking them relentlessly. I have seen much, MUCH less for athiesm
+Nik Cruz Well ok you got a point but just to be clear i am an atheist but i respect others religion
Yuck religion. It's weird you mentioned Christianity and religion when they are two different entities.
EVANGELIST Daniel Torres What do you mean by that?
O k denominations were called religions because they were man made and are a division between man, God and the Gospel. True Christianity has nothing of the true meaning of religion which really means "doing good deeds to get to heaven". "The greatest *story* ever told" 😉
There’s a lot movies but this is a good list

On X-MEN : Moreover you can read the film like a metaphor of civil rights in 60's-70's America with Magneto/Malcolm X and Xavier/MLK, as Xavier defends cohabitation between humans and mutants and Magneto defends confrontation
star wars based on christianity? ummmm... close but no cigar
+Sam Riberi Christianity/Buddhism actually
+Bleach Nazism, Samurai, Taoism such as Ying-Yang aka The darkside and the light. Lucas got his ideas from everywhere.
Lucas was most influenced by Joseph Campbell, who wrote about comparative religion and mythology. He basically said all religions are based on myths, but that myths are a good and useful thing.
+Sam Riberi Nah, bugs.
The Wizard of Oz is allegory about the switch from the gold standard
This guy seems to enjoy mispronouncing words....
When considering a movie that changed my perspective (or rather, affirmed it), then I have to consider a French language film titled “13 Tzameti”. Something like that.
the greatest story ever told? hahahahahahahahahahaha
hi everyone
+Superior 19 If they made a film about the bible it would be called the most cliche boring story of them all. And probably get 23% on rotten tomatoes.
+Superior 19 Ehmmm.... let's test that. A whole bunch of people once took inspiration (and later on a lot more were forced to take inspiration from) a little book written by a little man... he was a great artist, great painter, but his book was rubbish and got a lot of people a one-way ticket to the pearly gates (or that basement with the overheating boiler, if they happened to not be welcome at the pearly gates).

It’s in everything, you can look at any super popular movies or music videos and there will be a black and white checkerboard floor!
Well, these videos are starting to get out of hand.
I already watched Gods of Egypt even though it hadn't came out yet. I watched it on showbox. It's for free

The illuminati one is stupid. Every superhero movie with an evil organization has them say something like "tear down the world and start a new empire"
Of course, everything is linked to the Bible! Great video! Haha
please stop making them

X-men: Magneto wasn't fighting for "mutant pride", he was fighting for the dominance of his race over the rest of humanity. He sees mutants as the next step of human evolution, and mutants as the rightful inheritors of the Earth.
+djhutchison interesting thought.... lol
That was the tragedy of the character. He became the thing he hated. He came to believe his race (mutants) was naturally superior, and that the rest of humanity should step aside. Ironic for a Holocaust survivor.
Ed Harris was also the godlike character in snow piercer
Anyone knows the song that plays behind the Departed?
I know this isn't a Marvel video, but this channel has turned into more of a marvel fan channel
Screen rant and star wars, still a better love story than twilight 😉
In the original wizard of oz movie there is a scene in a forest area where 1 of the munchkin actors committed suicide by hanging them self in the distant background. It was later edited out.
