Alfie ... what memories this song evokes for me. The young boy that I was then. Becoming a man yet afraid. I hope my son has found his way. Thank you Linda.
Your home looks so loved, (which includes your animal family, of course!) and all the plants look beautiful. I'll bet you're looking forward to the young ones "leaping". Listening to you talk and sing tonight is so therapeutic. "Alfie" sounds beautiful, and your tone is so pure. On a side note, Burt Bacharach actually asked my mother out right after Angie Dickinson and he broke up, but she said no, as her marriage to my dad wasn't quite over. I'm sure he was just taken by her beauty. ;) "Simply The Best" sounds great too, and I could totally hear it playing on the radio. It had almost a Bonnie Raitt feel to it. Thanks for sharing another piece of life with us!
Aways enjoyed the music of Burt Bacharach, especially Alfie. That is by far the best rendition I have ever heard. Can't blame the bird for not wanting to leave. He knows who takes great care of him. Thanks for the entertaining vlogs. We see a little of everything-music, nature, weather.,animals. Well done!
Growing up my neighbor had a starling that she often fed crickets. Eventually he began to mimic the sound of the crickets all the time. He sang and sang! He lived to be almost 20 years old! So glad Mozart has added a new layer to your life on the farm!
Yes, I will have to start buying crickets from the pet store for the winter months when Mozart can't go outside to hunt for bugs. They love their bugs!
Thank you Linda for covering "Alfie" & "You're The Best"! Burt & Tina would be blown away to hear you sing their iconic songs, both of which are on my all-time favorites list. Always appreciate the various Metaphor Farm family updates, including the latest member, Mozart. He is quite a character! Be well & stay safe. 🎵💖🎶
Summer at Metaphor Farm! What could be more lovely. Thank you for inviting us to enjoy it with you. Flowers. Beautiful! Garden. Delicious! Songs. Exceptional! Rain. Torrential! Mozart. Priceless. LE. Remarkable! Blessings. You are Loved.
Your property is absolutely gorgeous and your gardens are flourishing! I didn’t get around to any yard work yet this year, but I’m hoping to revamp all of my landscaping in the fall. I love the relationship you have developed with little Mozart! She/he clearly adores you! I’m so glad you see you relaxing and enjoying your summer with all of your farm family. Looking forward to seeing you on the road in the fall!
That is one intelligent bird! #1: Mozart selected you as his/her Mom knowing what a generous heart you have. #2: To repay your generosity, Mozart tries to steal Post-it notes to do what, keep track of everything you do for him/her? #3: He/she commandeers your computer keyboard to hunt-and-peck deals on bird seed? That little critter is no bird brain.
Beautiful as always. I'm new to gardening myself. I follow Laura at Garden Answer, you will love her and her family, I learned alot. Come back to Illinois soon. We love you. Lots of Love and Light ❤
God your georgeus as ever. I've been watching a young singer Lucy Thomas. She reminded me of you and took me back about 20 years ago when I first saw you perform and instantly fell in love. I search You Tube and here you are. What a wonderful surprise.
Truly loved this video. You do a great job of putting a bunch of miscellaneous video into a very entertaining vlog. I laughed out loud on several occasions. I love your gardens - fruits, flowers and vegetables - you’ve got it all. And who couldn’t love your little Mozart; so much personality. Thank you for sharing your favorite times with us. Looking forward to seeing you in January. ❤️ from Louisiana
Little Mozart is a hoot!! How quickly he bonded with you!! Such a lucky bird!! Alfie, first time i ever really liked the song! Best tho, your flowers and the bees, so nice to see them alive and well! Enjoy the rest of summer!
Your garden is amazing! Mozart is very lucky you have such a loving heart for animals…other than snapping turtles…can’t blame you at all on that one! By the way… you did cover Tina Turner’s “We Don’t Need Another Hero”. I was listening to it the other night! 😉 But, your cover of “Simply the Best” was simply the best! 😊
Thanks again for the vlog! Loving the update on Mozart. It’s truly sad we have lost Tina and Tony! I’ve been so hoping you would add each to your tribute show! Can not wait to hear both at your concert at The Barns!! See you there, Daffy Duck!! You are so funny! Love ya and have a great day.
I'm thinking Mozart likes to stand next to the laptop screen because it looks similar to a real window to the great outdoors. The laptop screen is rectangular like a window to the outdoors, often with large bright areas similar to views of the sky he sees from his cage.
Wow..your garden is so green! "A garden is the slowest of the perming arts"..true quote. It's never done. And if it grows fast, that's another chore to move it or prune it. That rain river shot reminds me of Palm Desert 2019 but not as quite the flash flood.😮Tina Turner...she was a WOW! Actually, it is your fault that I got to see her once in 2019! I was ready to go to Vegas to see all three of your shows at the SunCoast and the show got dropped from your concert list Tina was playing local for the first time that I recall and I got this ticket in a weird corner spot that I had to literally crawl over 20 people to get to! Imagine my surprise when later in the show, Tina is up on a crane at my eye level belting out Nutbush City Limits! It was amazing! But even better your show got reinstated, I came and I heard what I swear is the best-ever rendition you have ever done of Gold! Double -win! Looks like being a bird-mama has gotten a little more fun. Loved the Alfie...one of the songs in my favorite piano book...sounds great! We miss you out here in California!
As much as you didn't want another bird, you seem to be really enjoying him/her. I'm surprised that it doesn't want to fly the coop already. Linda 'The Bird Lady' Eder. 😉
Wow! Your garden is truly amazing..so beautiful and lots of work! Thanks for sharing your shows..as always...and your animal family...as always! It is so fun to see your real life and how much it keeps you smiling! Take care..❤
So enjoyed this I've watched it twice already. I love the quote about a new garden: sleeps, creeps & leaps. In my case it's more like: sleeps, peeps & goes back to sleep. I don't seem to have very green fingers, but I'm trying. Mozart is so funny: when he popped out from under your hair with his mouth open ...! Like he was playing a joke and enjoying himself. 'Alfie' is such a hard song but you do it so well, ... your last 2 notes ... gorgeous! Thank you for this. And your sunhat ... !! I bet it's very efficient though! Thank you for sharing all these bits of your life, very generous.
Hi Linda, wow, wow, wow. All my favorite bits. Horsies, birdie, flowers, frui, and songs. Oh yes, almost left off the beautiful green. Current mid afternoon temp here is 103°. Kiddo, that’s cool for us. Would you believe I so wished you might sing a Tina Turner song, and you did! Always have been a big fan. Thanks for this terrific vlog. Sunny and HOT in Scottsdale 🍋
Oh, regarding Mozart, more insects in her diet would be good. "Soft bills" (insect eaters, as opposed to "hard bills", who eat seeds) need the exoskeletons of bugs to move food through their guts. It's their version of "fiber", and for the calcium. Cutting back on the cat food will encourage more foraging. Or, you can hand-feed crickets.
Hello Linda. Will you be coming around the Philadelphia area. I saw you in New Jersey the last time. You had just gotten there. Your son apparently was 15 at the time. I hope to see you again in the very near future. Love you Linda. ❤
Pebbles! Cute reference! Regarding Mozart (leaving aside the irony of feeding a bird cat food...), I wonder if she has, or will, eat the kind of wild bird seed you put in your tray feeder. I also guess "she" because Mozart's affinity for standing on your head might be a nesting instinct (on high ground, and with nesting material).
Love to hear you sing....yes I'd love to hear tribute to Tony Bennett....I've been including Orange Colored Sky in my performances, it's the song Lady Gaga dang when he first heard her!
Interesting that Mozart uses his beak to "open" the slit in the paper towel (from underneath, then from above). I have always have thought of a bird's beak as being used to grasp things, by closing down. But I suppose if it's your only tool, you do other things with it.
Alfie ... what memories this song evokes for me. The young boy that I was then. Becoming a man yet afraid. I hope my son has found his way. Thank you Linda.

I’m coming back as one of your pets.
Mozart is too funny! Does it react when it hears other birds? Your gardens are lovely. So enjoyed this video - it's peaceful and happy, Thank you!
Looking forward to seeing you in September
Mozart is so adorable!!!
Oh and I’ll have some of those Seckel pears! My fav fall fruit! 😆

Mozart is so lucky to be living with the Bird Lady of New York! Another winning vlog sharing your life with us! Love You Lady!💖🐤 🐕 🐎

Yes! I forgot all a bout that. I don't think I even have a recording of it.
This is all exquisite
Life is so beautiful where you are
And I'm so happy you're singing Alfie
My b/p came down a bunch after watching and listening to this! So calming. Good to see you.
Best,
Ken

Keep Alfie for your December concert please. 🙏

Looking forward to an homage to Tony Bennett. Mozart has you well-trained.

Great. Loved the inverse B&W silhouette from Vinegar Hill. Striking!
Oh my gosh, that burgundy Coleus is fabulous!
Have you been to any horse shows this summer? Thanks for taking us along.

Thank you for the info! He ( I think now it is a" he" is finding a lot of bugs but this will really help for winter when he can't go outside to hunt!
I love the hyssop/agastache, and you certainly have plenty of them! 😊
Hello Linda. Will you be coming around the Philadelphia area. I saw you in New Jersey the last time. You had just gotten there. Your son apparently was 15 at the time. I hope to see you again in the very near future. Love you Linda. ❤
Mozart is too funny!. Playing in your hair. 😄
Cooling down here in New Hampshire have a great day 😊

found out males start the nest and then the female finishes it... so now I am back to thinking Mozart is a male.
From the transcript: “I mean it’s crazy when you see the two cages side-by-side…“. La Cage Aux Folles on Google translate: “The Crazy Cage”. 😊
Loved the concert! And the newer song added in "Simply the Best." Mozart is getting so big. He/she looks maybe full grown now?
Not sure if Mo will get bigger or not. the adult feathers are coming in now.
Love to hear you sing....yes I'd love to hear tribute to Tony Bennett....I've been including Orange Colored Sky in my performances, it's the song Lady Gaga dang when he first heard her!
OMG! I love the grounds and the video!
Beautiful guitar! Did Mozart pick that out?
Great vlog! Thank you!
Seems like everything she touches grows.

Starlings put their beaks into the earth or grass and then open their beaks wide to dig for bugs. Mozart has been doing this from very early on.
@@lindaederofficialyoutube Aha! Makes sense.
Would love to see a duet with you and Barbra ❤️🫂🎼🗣️
Me too but unfortunately that ship has sailed. The last time Barbra recorded new music was in 2018.
What kind of bird is Mozart? Great vlog❤
European Starling
The new cage was just $96?!?! That's a great deal!
Can the horses have a fan? Is that a thing?
That guitar music reminds me of Simon and Garfunkel. Have you ever covered a song of theirs?
There are three fans running for the horses. That is the humming you hear in the background.
@@robertaj4815Love them! I recorded Bridge Over Troubled Water.
Where are the pumpkins?
Linda I got a laugh from Mozart poking his/her head between the holes in the paper towel!. ♡🐦🧻😄
