I have been hitting with this new RF for about a week..agree with your opinions and analysis.. this is an excellent racquet especially for those of us who love that pro staff “feel” 👌🏻
Everything you said is true! I played the Pro Staff RF97 series for a long time. Firstly because I'm a fan of Roger, but also because I love the feeling, the brutal stability that the Pro Staffs display when they go through the ball like butter. Of course, that also meant immensely perfect timing. And that in turn meant absolute footwork and fitness. Hardly any player, let alone a tournament player, can tame the RF 97. Not even Federer, as we have learnt. Too much spin, too fast balls these days, but then the Pro Staff X v14 came onto the market. Larger head, no longer 340 g unstrung, but 315 g. This was already a decent compromise after I couldn't make friends with Aero, VCore, Ezone and so on. Now, with this one, I have found my racket. But it has to be said that this racket in the Pro version with 320 g requires a fully developed and advanced technique. The timing also has to be right. All in all, this racket demands a lot from a player. But then it really rewards the player like no other. It is a very good compromise to the Pro Staff RF97, although these two rackets play quite differently. But you notice and feel the DNA behind it. You realize that nothing is damped to death. The RF01 Pro does not overpower. I can hardly wait for my two new favourites to arrive after intensive testing.
Thanks for the kind words. No, Wilson no longer uses Kevlar in their racquets. Kevlar is strong, but not as stiff as graphite, so it would reduce the power and stability of the frame.
@RacquetGuys - I use the KBlade 98 18X20 as my main racket along with the Blade CV 18X20 as the back up. In terms of weight and the String Pattern (16X19) would I be able to adjust to the RF 01 Pro? Thanks!
That's a good question, but can probably only be answered by testing a demo of the RF 01 Pro. Your Blade has a similar swingweight to the RF 01 Pro. However the Blade is lighter and not as head-light. Racquets with similar swingweights will feel different when swung if the weight and balance are not also similar. It's a personal preference and depends on your game style. If you like to go to the net a lot, you may like the more head-light balance of the RF 01 Pro. I should also mention that the RF 01 Pro is also stiffer than the Blade, so should be a little more powerful. Hope this helps, but again, the best way to know is to demo the racquets. Have fun out there!
@@troywr9378 Thanks. The kblade is perfect, I just wanna be able to have that same setup with the plow through of a prostaff. Also, this new line isn’t a direct descendent of the prostaff. They’ve changed way to much.
@@troywr9378 Also, I love the setup and the feel of the KBlade 98 - the CV version has a very muted feel. The one thing I want to add to my KBlade is the Plow Through that comes with the Prostaff. How do I do that?
We were testing with Alu Rough at 51 lbs as most of our staff use a full bed of copoly. However, this racquet is extremely versatile and the string set-up will depend more on the individual. Players looking for a little more power and softer feel may want to try a copoly-multifilament or copoly-gut hybrid of their choice.
Today's rackets are no longer as heavy as they used to be. 320g for the current rackets is on the heavier side, but the swing weight is more important anyway.
@@piner74 is swing weight, obviously exactly what it sounds like, but the effect is a lighter racquet with a heavy swing gives the same effect as a heavier racquet with the same swing rate?
Thanks for the question. Personally, I would go with the RF 01 because I found the swingweight of the Pro to be a bit high for me. If I was 10 years younger when I was stronger and faster, I would go for the Pro. The Future (lightest model), is designed for players who aren't as strong and who aren't dealing with too heavy of an incoming ball. It would be a great choice for a high-level junior who isn't fully developed physically. Hope this helps :)
Good point! :) However, the swingweight of the demo we were testing came in at 332 whereas my Prestige Pro has a sw of 323. Not a huge difference, but enough that it affected timing a bit. I'm also a little out of practice ;) Thanks for watching.
Great review, Troy should do more of these. Super insightful and articulate on his explanations I almost feel like I demoed it.
Troy is a great presenter! Thank you for the review 🙏

Great review by Troy and thank you RG for the video. Seems like a great racquet for higher end players for sure.
Cheers,

Great review. Very detailed and thorough from a player’s pov.
I’m very impressed with Troy. He’s very articulate with his reviews - up there with Chris Edwards/TW and Jonas/Tennisnerd.
RF for life 💪🏽💯
RF for life is the Wilson Pro Staff RF97 Autograph , feeling , control and stability are amazing My racket of playing and teaching
Really well done...informative and concise review. Keep up the amazing work!
Just watched the normal RF01 review and thought “wish these guys did the pro as well”… and here i am!
Fantastic review

Glad to learn that you like the new RF 01 Pro. Enjoy them and have fun.
Excellent presentation
Great rev!
Seems similar to the Boom Pro in just about every spec (balance, swingweight, stiffness, and lowish twist weight). How do they compare?
How does this racquet compare to a Pro Staff 6.1, which was a lighter racquet than the original Pro Staff Classic?
Thank you for this wonderful review.
Do they still use Kevlar in this requet?
Thanks for the kind words. No, Wilson no longer uses Kevlar in their racquets. Kevlar is strong, but not as stiff as graphite, so it would reduce the power and stability of the frame.
I want to ask about the comparison of tennis rackets
Yonex Regna 98 V3
vs
Wilson RF01 98
Are the two rackets similar in character?
How does it compare to RF PS X

If they come out with a 90 sq in version for club players I’ll buy ten
Roger Federer doesn’t have a new racket. He just markets a new racket for you.
Isn’t the prestige pro also 320g?😂
