    Should have had two zones. That was half of the heads you actually needed for an efficient design. Also, looks like the heads have all the same nozzle? If that's the case your efficiency is further in the tank. The full circles need to be putting out 4X the amount of the quarter circle.

    • @diytito8165
      @diytito8165  3 роки тому +1

      You are correct and it is certainly not an ideal pattern. I maximized for one zone and based on daily sun exposure. Ideally one more soon would give me better coverage at the street and on the edges of the property where those large rotating heads have to cover much more area. There's a lot that goes into executing a good layout due to head design, how much each one rotates, shade vs sun, and overlap. Even with the less than ideal cover I've had decent results except near the street. (Which people just seem to park on anyway)

    Do the sprinkler headed move up and down when water is running through and when it’s shut off

    • @diytito8165

      Yep. When you turn the water on the heads will popup like most I ground sprinklers.

    I want to add put in multiple zones, probably 4 or 5, how would I go about doing that?

    • @diytito8165
      @diytito8165  4 роки тому +1

      If you wanted to do that you would need a hose manifold splitter and multiple timer valves. I'm not sure what the b-hyve system is limited to but that's what I plan to do is add two more zones this spring!

    Did you just push back the sod into place? it doesn't seem like you dug a trench but kind of split the grass/ soil and pushed the tubing down into place. Can you elaborate how you dug it and replaced the sod back into place. Thank you for your video!

    • @diytito8165
      @diytito8165  2 роки тому

      I used an edger to cut into the sod and lifted it up enough to push the tubing in place. Then I pushed the sod back into place.

    Thanks for the video...when you selected the system was it possible to subtract some of the heads. Basically my front yard will need 3-4 heads for one zone and the back yard 4 heads for another zone. Can you substract amounts of heads and not worry about the pressure?

    Is it pretty safe to dig 5 inches without hitting anything? I'm not sure what the minimum requirement is for water lines etc. but I'm sure they are at least a foot under.

    • @diytito8165
      @diytito8165  4 роки тому +1

      Typically most irrigation systems are installed at 6-8 inches around here but can depend on where you live as well. I would consult digsafe to ensure that you will not hit any gas, water, or electrical lines before you dig.

    • @diytito8165

      I've yet to hit it aerating yet. I tried to push it down to about 5-6inches. I went over my edged spots a couple times to push it as deep as possible. Deffinetely better to rent a trencher if you can.

    What size are the sprinkler inlets on the bottom of each head and what size T fitting is used? I ordered parts individually and the Orbit II has 3/4" inlet but the tubing is 1/2" and so are the fittings. Do I need a 1/2" to 3/4" T fitting to screw into the bottom of the head?

    • @diytito8165
      @diytito8165  4 роки тому

      Which head are you referring too? Saturn? The Saturn 3 I used in this video is 1/2" so no adapter is necessary. If your is 3/4 and your fittings are 1/2", yes you will need the adapter. I'm not sure if that will provide adverse affects to flow though. I suppose it depends on your flow rate and pressure. Best of luck!
