Dude . How come this wasn’t the first video I watched instead of the thousandths. Ordering the corrugated board that matches the box has been my struggle . I’ve ordered some Gemini mailers but I have not even ever gotten one out & unfolded it yet . Your technique looks flawless. Loved the tip about no tape on the spine . Simple but genius ... don’t need ticks !!! Thanks a million . 👍🙏
Perfect! Thank you so much, I wanted to list my books online but also want to ensure that the final delivery is of a quality item. This was super helpful.
Im thinking of selling some comics and i was wondering. I have a really flat box that a diploma came in can I use that? Not sure if the curry gated cardboard would fit though so thats why im asking.
The funny part is I would have comics sent to me by mail when I was a kid so we didn't miss an issue. They would be folded in half and sent in only a brown paper sleeve. That was considered brand new.
Do you need to use a USPS box as well or ship it just like how you did it? Also i sold my first comic book on ebay today. I got the shipping label off of ebay. Do i drop the package off in a bin or go to the counter? Im not certain what else there is afyer getting it ready fir shipping
If it’s able to ship 1st class I just put it in a polymailer to keep shipping cost down. But if you have multiple comics shipped and the weight is over 16oz I would use the priority envelope for sure
@@SimplemansComics idk what a poly bag is but I have heard of Gemini comic mailers cause that’s what my secret wars #8 came in when I bought it online I’m new to selling online
Im trying to ship a videogame instruction manual and I think putt8ng it in a bad the suround it by cardboard then into a bubble mailer wouls be good. I'm wondering if i can get away with a non bubble mailer?
if i have say 30 comics i need to ship out, is there anything i can do to make the post office have an easier time? i think i heard her mention a form that i could fill out but i wasnt really listening.
CGC books I would advise wrapping in bubble wrap to protect the case and ship in a priority box instead of the uline mailer in this vid. Some people will cut up pool noodles and slide them on corners or ends of cgc books for protection as well
Where can I get one of them label printers? Can you print the labels from your iPhone or smartphone? Or do they have to be printed from a laptop or desktop?
This is sweet. When you ship it, which options do you use? US probably MediaMail, right? How about International? Can this be considered a large letter or it falls under package because of the shape of the box? Thanks
For these boxes I ship up to 5-6 books at the most. If shipping more I will pack them in a few of these boxes then put them in a bigger box together and ship priority
Be much better if they made plastic trays for sending comics in, almost guranteed protection bend-proof, waterproof , reusable and quicker to pack, but I'm guessing packaging companies would soon be out of business and that must come before preserving comics.
You can use the method in the video for up to 5 comics. I'd advise to turn every other comic so the spines aren't all on one side. If more than 5, I would package up to 10 together with cardboard on both sides, then bubble wrap them for added protection and send in a bigger box via priority mail. Use additional bubble wrap or paper to protect the bubble wrapped books inside the box.
Great video. On doing the label from eBay, does it give you a tracking number to use? And where did you go to get the precut corrugated cardboard? Was that 81/2 x 11? As you can tell, I'm new at this and you were great.
Ebay does provide a tracking number for you to use. Paypal also has a shipping label feature if you aren’t using ebay. For the precut cardboard I usually order from uline.com or papermart.com. Some people prefer gemini mailers too. They work great it all comes down to personal preference really.
Not yet! I usually bubble wrap then mail in USPS Priority Boxes 1092 and 1095. The smaller box fits in the bigger box and adds protection. Some use pool noodles and cut them to protect graded books too.
Quick question. I haven't received my first order of comics (I've been selling stuff for a couple years, mostly non-print collectibles) and wanted to know, do they usually come with the clear plastic bag and backing, or do you order these seperately? I need to order those as well if not.
I order both my boxes and cardboard from uline.com. Here’s a link to the boxes www.uline.com/Product/Detail/S-165/Easy-Fold-Mailers/11-1-8-x-8-5-8-x-2-Kraft-Easy-Fold-Mailers?FromOrderHistory=Y
I am new to shipping comics and comics in general. I've inherited some somewhat valuable comics and don't want to destroy them further than their current condition. Sometimes things aren't as simple as they sound: what exactly does "bag and board" mean?
A bag and board is what you put the comic book in to help protect its condition. Is a clear thin poly bag that has a thin but slightly rigid board the goes in the bag to also help protect the comic. Here is an example: amzn.to/3BvunoZ
This is a great video. I have a ton of comics I may want to sell someday. I have been nervous about sending them through the mail to a buyer and arriving damaged. I like your method. I may try it. Where did you get your thermal label printer? I am new to your channel and I am now a subscriber. Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much for subscribing! The thermal printer is definitely nice and so convenient. I bought mine on Amazon. I’m sure Best Buy, Staples, and other stores has them too but if you are interested in buying it off Amazon you can find it and other supplies in a consolidated list I made here: goo.gl/zpn4uA
Aww man I know right. That is the worst. Especially some where the mail person must be a power lifter or something cuz it amazes me how they make some packages bend like they do.
We have this little lady that I truly think tries to dropkick the comic boxes in our mailbox even though the seller's package the boxes very carefully. So far, no damage to the actual books.
i have a couple of comics I'm trying to sell....one is a spawn #1 black and white....the other an amazing spiderman 300. both are in really good condition. only thing is, they're not graded...so it's tough to know what they're worth...spiderman 300 is at the very least an 8.5 to a 9.2. I'm trying to be very conservative..don't want to mislead people. and the spawn is also in really good condition. just had these 2 lying around...haven't seen them in years.
Too much work, too many steps. I did it that way for years, up until about 5 years ago. Its easier and less time consuming to just buy a pack of comic shipping boxes.

Thanks for the great video. I have some comics on order and wasn't sure how I'd ship them. This was just what I wanted to see!

Good helpful video I’m sending two of my comic books to PGX soon
I thought is being silly for making pull tabs and writing pull on them!! Wish everyone did this!!
I hear you! It’s crazy how taking a few extra seconds can make for such a better experience for the person receiving the book.

Wow, great instructional video for shipping. Thanks for posting this for the community. Great content, keep up the great work!
So glad to hear you found it informative Daexarayan. Thank you once again for watching and commenting. I alway appreciate hearing from you.
I use painters tape as well, BUT, I go diagonally at the corners to get more tape securing more of the book

When you ship do you choose first class, priority, or something else?
under 16oz I use 1st class, over 16oz I use priority shipping
Thanks for the tips
Thanks for this! I’ve started sending mine into be graded and I don’t want any damage along the way.
Have u used thus method to send to cgc?

You are!

on gemini's website it shows them sticking the comic mailer in a USPS priority mail envelope type thing do you suggest doing this?

these uline and gemini mailers.... i like them, never had issues, but what about water? have you had any issues of comics/mailers getting wet?
I started putting the uline mailers in poly envelope mailers to protect against getting wet. They’re cheap and very effective

Good advice Bro
Good packaging video...wish more eBay sellers would watch this haha
I hear ya. My buddy literally just had a book mailed to him frm ebay in a pizza box. I asked him if it had the little pepper of garlic butter with it🤣
Simpleman's Comics right? Comic mailers aren't hard to find...even if you don't have them...some carboard and tape goes a long way...
This is sweet. When you ship it, which options do you use? US probably MediaMail, right? How about International? Can this be considered a large letter or it falls under package because of the shape of the box? Thanks

How do you ship "prestige" sized books?
Hi thank you for the video! If you’re selling a small lot do you think you could stack the comic books and use this same procedure? Thanks

USPS now charges $11.35 for shipping anything with FRAGILE on it :-)

If ordered from a comic store most come already bagged and boarded already
@@SimplemansComics Ah. I'm ordering in bulk from Diamond Comic Distributors for retail. I have asked them, but so far haven't received a response :/
