@Manuel Castanon The Lion still often killed his opponents, except for fights where he was just largely outclassed (ex: Abaddon with his wound cap). The problem is that a lot of those faction leaders that he fought cost less than him, so they had better damage to point ratios.

It’s never good seeing someone have bad luck with dice like that for Tak, but it’s slightly satisfying to see Tak contemplating the life of Steve like you did haha great video guys! The story you told was awesome and great editing Ben!
I would’ve liked to see tak continue to play with the dark angels for the time being but if there’s ultramarines and tak in the same video, they have to be together
Loved this game, those Dice were definitely saying for all DA players to go buy a Lion. Battle request for some time down the line a Khorne Off with Khorne Daemons vs World Eaters. Both somehow survived the data slate and are both terrifying armies now.
I have no idea how hard this would be, but how amazing would it be to see these matches and their respective commander's turned into a 40 minute animated replica of the teams, environment, and battle step by step, but in a fully fluid episode you'd watch in a TV series 😮 No turns no dice just all the action.
Being a newcomer to warhammer 40K watching 40K in 40 minutes really hype’s me up to paint and go play warhammer. I’ve really enjoyed watching you all play😁

As much as this game was a foregone conclusion with modern & OP 9E Dark Angels rules vs crappy 8E ultrmarines your personalities still kept it enjoyable.
Me at the start: oh no Steve is commanding my fav army Me at the end: ALL HAIL STEVE, Destroyer of girllymen, devastator of rowboats, hero of the rock!
Space marine Steve was just stone cold this episode. Definitely here for it. And Tak... I am sorry, but it was fun. The realized that you were steved in this game was great.
even thought i don't agree with this action of lion beating guilliman up because they haven't even met in lore, this is an amazing match. I love every second of this.
This honestly felt really bad, that was a massively one sided slaughter entirely because of the dice. I think he got like 2 or 3 6’s the whole match sheesh
Takk had awful luck but this was still fun to watch. One thing I learned playing UMs really early is to never leave the house without your Seal of Oath
Poor Tak, but great sportsmanship on both sides! We missed the opportunity to get the Play on dice at Adepticon! Just ordered them from Baron of Dice!!!
Wow! From multiple seasons of Tak being the boss of dice rolls and saves, to this couple of games where he now knows how his opponents feel... And Steve mainly making good dice rolls... I'm not sure how I feel about this... I might be joining Tak in an existential crisis...
My heart is out to Tak here. I've had a Necron Overlord fail on a 4+ with seven dice. EVERY SINGLE ONE! I can say he was not happy to have to roll over dead like that!
its funny though because everyone thought Johnson would argue with Guilliman, but instead he just goes, good job man, and goes to fight a big metal daemon.
Im starting to think it's not the orange dice but the side of the table their on.. The win to lose ratio sort of favors one side of the table than the other if I'm thinking correctly.
This is truly the "My dad could beat up your dad" content we all wanted.
I love when those two play against each other 😂
The lion is adopted isnt he... i knew it!
@Manuel Castanon The Lion still often killed his opponents, except for fights where he was just largely outclassed (ex: Abaddon with his wound cap). The problem is that a lot of those faction leaders that he fought cost less than him, so they had better damage to point ratios.
"Do it" left me in tears 😂
Hear me out…. At the end of each match, you should show a MVP model and it’s kill count
Highlighting one key unit is a pretty good idea
And an end season MVP kill team battle?
Great idea, I would love to see the stats!
@@PlayOnTabletop ahh this used to be in white dwarf battle reps! Bloodthirster MVP from Chaos vs White Scars, what a classic

I feel bad for Steve, he just burned ALL of his good dice luck for 2023 in one game.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Honestly, he might have borrowed some from 2024 too
But... Steve doesn't have good dice luck... Who'd he steal it from?!

😎
I cant believe i want the ultramarines to win. the dice has been too brutal this game.
Same happened when Tak took the Lion out for a spin vs. Angron. He was so unlucky, and Momin was rolling very hot.
@@andrewbakescakes9684 The Dark Gods of the Black Dices had departed and he's now watching over Tak
Man, it’s abo it time the ultra smurfs got that “plot armor” rubbed in their faces. 😂
In my own mind, this battle is happening because the Lion found out about Yvraine
"You found yourself a hot goth Aeldari girlfriend!? TRAITOR!"
Lion: HE DID WHAT WITH A WHAT?!?!
I just found somebody who made a Guilly scan for TTS where he's holding a Yvraine body pillow too. It was pretty funny!

It can happen from time to time. At least I hope it is only from time to time and this curse is not a forever thing
Tak has to defeat mubin to restore his luck, continue grudge match
Tak: dark Angel's are resilient but steve.
Steve: proceeds to mash the blueberry marines into a nice blueberry pie that is served up to the lion
Im glad I wasnt the only one who noticed how well THAT aged XD
The "Hitting the F key" made me snort in laughter. Thank you Steve
I replayed it multiple times 😂
We need this match again, feels like all the luck was on one side of the table, was still fun but I do hope to see a rematch
And with dataslate update the blade guards would not have been as durable
We are considering it but also letting Steve enjoy and savour this for a minute
@@PlayOnTabletop let’s let Steve enjoy his shine and leave him in peace 😄
As a long time Dark Angels fan, I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for this kind of batrep. You guys at Play On are the best! For the Lion!
I would’ve liked to see tak continue to play with the dark angels for the time being but if there’s ultramarines and tak in the same video, they have to be together
All Steve needed was to play as the mighty Dark Angels for him to finally roll better then he normally does
I love WH40k since discovering it a few weeks ago , and this channel is probably the coolest thing to have running in the background at work
Steve saying Do it seven times is the first i've actually audibly laughed watching one of these in awhile, so funny

I’m guessing Guilliman dug up the VR system that he played with Corax back in the day and hosted a private match against Lion to pass the time…

Great editing as usual, really brings the game to life 💪
First game I've ever seen Steve have the dice on his side! Very good to see
Was so hoping for more dark angels specific models on the board
man this was a great batrep, really enjoyed watching it and this was my 1st 1 as well. So glad The Lion pummeled the Smurfs and his smug brother lol
Tak: "Are you gonna LET me have a good game?"
Steve: "*No*."
Love it! Tak had me rolling at the end! This is exactly why we come here.

Really enjoyed this. Good reminder to keep things light and fun even when your dice hate you
Used to be a dark angel player now I'm a ultramarines player. Great match Boyes. Well done. 👏
Also the little face pics at the end were great!, i laughed so hard seeing JT blocking Taks face haha. Random yet relevant, love it!!

Watching steve wins always brings joy to my heart
I image the guys going for a bar after this and Steve just shouts "Maximum shots! Yeah!"
I'm really digging the muted green you've used on the Dark Angels. It's so desaturated it looks almost Raptor-like, and it looks really sharp.

Steven was hilarious throughout this match. I liked his energy.
I love how the whole battle was Tak complaining about his dice.. Then it finishes with an advert for those dice.😅
Great report, guys, as always!
I felt so conflicted watching this. I, myself am an ultramarines players, but Steve is my favorite player on this channel

Fun fact: Lion El Johnson, when translated from Spanish, means "Lion the Johnson."
I never seen Steve play like this… he was possessed.
Or, at least his dice were. Steve is actually a very strategic and tactical player but for some reason his dice do things when the cameras are rolling
Perfect match. Over powered Dark angels played by Steve equals out to a fair match. Hope Steve wins. Time to watch

Idk how it'd work out exactly but a charity stream with the players fielding their entire collection of their chosen faction???
“Stupid, sexy, johnson.” Not at all words I expected to hear from Steve
