Another thing, go to the Wii settings and change the resolution from 480i to 480p. It might not be immediately noticeable, but definitely do it anyway, it’ll still look better and possibly have less input delay As for the black boarder, some tvs have options to zoom it in slightly, or changing the aspect ratio from wide to normal, or turning on overscan (or off, if it’s too zoomed in), or “just scan”, etc. just look at the settings and your find some nice stuff. Also of course, use game mode, reduce the input lag! If it’s not on, you’ll be bad at the games 💀
You need component cables to do that, and most modern TVs don't have component inputs, only composite Component: red green blue, white, red again lol Composite: yellow, red, white
@@KobiHameedI'm pretty sure I've seen aftermarket dongles for the Wii's video port that takes the native component signals and translates them to HDMI. Never used one, since I have a Wii U (which gives you component quality over HDMI anyways) but there *are* aftermarket options.
These don't make it 1080p. You need a whole other product for that. These just make it use HDMI. It still stays at 480p. It's great for people who dont have composite on their tv anymore though.
the wii cant output anything except 480i or 576i, this doesn't actually make the resolution any higher, it just upscales the image which ur tv already does
It can also do 480p through component output, which I WOULD hope that this adapter makes use of. Though you still need to go into the settings to switch over to it.
I never see people in these videos mention the option in settings to get even clearer picture. In Wii settings, go to video mode and change from 480i to 480p Not sure if the option is called that in US though, I play on a PAL Wii

Hi, i bought the second one you show, I connected it and it just doesn't work, it doesn't show any image at all, in fact, the TV doesn't even revongnize the wii, any help?
You also forgot to go to the settings and change the output to component, if you leave it in composite it’s still not gonna look that great. Also setting the wii to widescreen and 480p is a must on these adapters, these are important steps, please don’t forget them
Wii games have a anti flicker blur that's meant for CRT displays really. The only way to get rid of that is using a hacked system but it's worth it if you cant do true HDMI mods or a CRT
I do have the same kind of converter even with and hdmi 90% adapter because otherwise it does not fit on my drawer I also have turned off the blur in usbloader gx and turn aspect ratio (stretch ) to auto extended and also turned on the 480p patch (fixes bug in wii ) Lastly i have connected an hdmi switch to is so it and other consoles passes thruh my mclassic upschaler makes (gpu for hdmi) then to my pc It looks amazing you can not tell it is a 15 years old console
@Mitchell-oy3bl There's alot of options you can do with GameCube I'm going to try and keep this comment short and not confusing. 1st and most affordable option is ● Hyperkin GameCube HDMi Cable ( I use one with my Wii which is different than the GameCube one from my Research the GameCube one comes with a power cord that will remind you of a phone charger you plug that either into the wall or on your TV USB port if your TV has enough power some TVs do not have enough power for that ~ Unlike Wii the GameCube one is upscaling the image so it needs more power in order to do that. 2nd option ● THIS IS EXPENSIVE and a little more confusing get a S-video cable and a Retrotink 5X or a similar HDMi converter that uses that S-video cable and converts it to HDMi and upscale that video image making it look amazing but it's expensive. ● 3rd option ~ Might be Cheaper to get a Wii💙 but that's your last option but make sure your Wii is backwards compatible with GameCube games I can tell you how you can tell the difference if you want to hear it

That "stretched out" screen is what we people in 21st century like to call 16:9 aspect ratio
