We all want to look modern but not silly or over the top, and these 5 trends can work for just about anyone! Oh no the short shorts trend is back? Ugh! The problem with it is the people that usually wear them shouldn't wear them and tbh it shouldn't be a trend. Not trying to offend anyone. But just say no to this trend.
No short shorts here either. However, unfortunately I find that longer inseams don't work on my body proportions and tend to make my legs look too short and stocky. Would you consider doing a video on shorts alternatives for casual summer wear? I can't be the only woman who feels uncomfortable in shorts.

I agree with you 99%. I just bought a black floral top for the Spring with pale pink roses, it's so pretty. The thing is about the white dress, I had one that fit me perfectly, but it just seemed to me as if it looked like I was trying too hard to stay young. I don't know if that makes sense, but that's the 1% I disagree with. Instead I donated it, and wore a long white buttoned-down over a slim pair of jeans and it looked great.
Understand what you're saying. Some styles just don't work. But some can be saved with the right topper.

Sheer fabrics are what I look for in curtains....LOL!!! I never follow the trends. I wear what I like and that's that. I don't wear metallic anything because it doesn't look good on me. When I buy jewelry I buy the stainless steel, because it's dull, and I crochet my own earrings in colors of thread that look great on me with metal findings that are a dull brass color. Short-shorts were never my thing. They look ridiculous on everybody, because it's implying not so nice things about the wearer. I believe in modesty 100%. Thanks Theresa! Interesting video......the diaper....ROFTL!! It's hard to take the fashion industry seriously.

I hope manufacturers start making more mid-rise pants. Like you, they fit me best.
In my mid 70s with snow white hair white dresses, blouses or sweaters are not my friend as I look like a walking blizzard. No matter what, not everyone can rock in a given garment.
You are SPOT on! Every look does not work for everyone. For me, beige and tan colors wash me out.
Low rise for us short bodies are midrise , midrise is a high-rise.

I am also short waisted. Super high waisted pants and some belts are not my friend. Short shorts ?? A hard pass on those.

I love florals and silver tones. No see through clothing or short shorts for me. It would look like I am wearing underpants. If my pants have a 12 inch rise they come up to my waist. Anything lower fits like a mid rise.

I find the short shorts look like undies and see through skirts like why bother to wear them. I find this so ridiculous and not elegant at all.
Ever since I was a child I hated pants that were high around my stomach. I just can't stand that feeling so I started trying to buy boy's jeans since they don't rise up to your armpits! It was so hard to find any that fit well so I was extremely happy when low rise came on the scene and I refuse to go back. I get it that some people don't like them but it stinks that I can mostly only find them thrifting now.

Young to middle age women look beautiful in dresses. We're past that. I go for basic pieces that fit well. Also pieces that cover lumps, bumps and sagging, therefore nothing that clings on the top or bottom. Let's leave the "trends" to the young girls. We had our time!
I look okay in midi skirts and will continue wearing them. No, you won't see me in a short white dress. That wouldn't look good.
Those models wearing those short, shorts and see-through styles are ALL so young, very, very tall, very, very thin and beautiful faces.
Those of us who are older, over 55, over 60, over 65.....do not want to dress this way. We are not "Forever 21" anymore!
Hi Suzanne - thanks so much for watching and for your thoughtful comments. I agree that we (women of a "certain age") are under represented in print media. With that said, we can modify trends to still look current without looking like we're trying to be 21 again. It's all about balance :)
