I’m 70 and cannot even stand to walk past the AD clothing section at the department store. Is that the best choices they could come up with fashion for women over 60??? I still wear skinny jeans, leather pants, off shoulder tops, crop tops, and tube tops, as well as, Doc Marten’s, and ankle boots.

Me too. I am thin and fairly toned and i love crop tops with high waist jeans. Leather pants,cool jeans which are in style now. Lets just wear what we want!!!

I've always said teeth and eyes can make you look older. Yes, yes, yes on the teeth whiteners! Such an easy fix! I do the strips regularly. Also, Visine or Clear Eyes. Yellow, foggy, or bloodshot eyes are very aging too. Another easy fix. Had to laugh at the garanimals! 😁

theresa, welcome back!! thanks for the video. I ditched these: capris, anything with flowers, out! Cut shoulders sleeves, Any crochet sweater. About to ditch the cardigans too, no matching jewelry, no hair spray.

As a young adult, we used to laugh at women who were trying to dress younger. Usually it was 'seductive' wear. Well, at 61, karma has come back around. While I don't dress seductively, I still want to wear fun clothing. I think what holds some women back is that they don't want to be seen as dressing as if they are still 30. I had to give up that thought and dress the way I feel that expresses who I am. Funny thing is, when I started dressing my old funky way, I got compliments a lot.
Hi Kimberely - I can SO relate! The struggle is REAL. It's a balancing act now (I am also 61) while I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard to "look young", at the same time I just can't bring myself to wear what I feel like are "dowdy old lady clothes" either, lol.

AD was my Mothers go to brand too! I often felt like it made her look older than she actually was.
For many years she could often pass for my sister when I was in my 20's and she was in her 40's.

I had been looking for a Fair Isle sweater at a good price. In my Belk store, a black sweater with creams, browns, and little embellishment caught my eye. It was in the Alfred Dunner section!
Tried it on and it looked so nice on me, that it followed me home. I love it and it works perfectly for my profession.
Otherwise, I normally pass the AD line by. Sometimes I like the patterns in the tops but the fabric doesn't appeal to me.
Hi Sandra - thanks so much for watching and for your thoughtful comments. That actually happened to me once! I saw a top that I really liked BEFORE I realised that it was in the AD section. The trick for me was to avoid the "matching bottoms" at all costs LOL. I found that I could easily style the top as a "stand alone" piece with other pieces in my wardrobe and avoid the Old Lday vibe altogether :)
Great advice, Teresa. Standing back and 'scanning' the clothing in the closet also helps me notice pieces that I might notice otherwise.

Hi Dianne - I picked up the top that I'm wearing in this video at White House/Black Market a few months ago. It was on a clearance rack, so I lucked out that they had it in my size at a deep discount :)

Hi Theresa well I just got my hair cut shorter a couple of weeks ago I haven't been wearing very much makeup I've been concentrating on skin care more than makeup lately and my sister took me shopping and helped me get some stuff that fit me better since I couldn't find smaller sizes where I lived and let me tell you that made a big difference

So funny you should say this. I was at Boscov’s at the Moorestown Mall today (I think you know where that is) and I actually looked at some Alfred Dunner pieces and thought the same thing! You talked about having the same pieces in different colors! I worked at Dress Barn for five years and that store was notorious for having one style top or sweater all in different colors🤣🤣🤣 Be careful with the whitening strips. They can cause extreme sensitivity for some. Thanks for the video!
I know exactly where that Boscovs is! I used to shop at Dress Barn years ago when I worked in an office environment. You are so right! All of their pieces started to look alike to me 😀

I love the matchy sets for women who are older and can't match their clothes. I hope my family dress me in these clothes if I am not able to style myself. I don't want to sit around in a pair of sweatpants and a Smokey Mountains sweatshirt 😢 Also I notice the women who are the worse at wearing dated hairstyles are older actresses. Goldie Hawn, Linda Thompson, Joan Van ark to name a few.
I would hope that my family would dress me nicely if I were unable also 😀
The matched sets remind me of the poly pantsuits my grqndmothers wore. They were fine then. And now that we've gone into more casuals on the regular, it shouldn't be difficult to stay away from those outfits. Talk about a uniform! I think every grandma of the 1970s had them. Maybe it was a generational thing.

Got to try those whitening strips. My hair is basically the same for decades. It is very straight and I don't like it short or too layered as that makes it look choppy.

Good posture, smiling and kindness , cleanliness is important. I’m so bad with clothing. I used to dress so cute when younger. Now I only wear jeans and oversized tops . I guess that’s my uniform . I feel pudgy as I’ve gained 5 pounds and am petite.

If I did'nt have a natural calick right in the middle of my hairline I think I would have bangs cut in. I think bangs can give a fresh, youthful look!
Good tips. Yellow teeth for sure but I find the strips hard to use and messy. I have to find something that works for me
While needing dentures at age 38 was not fun at all I'm now 63 and while most have no clue ( I don't keep it secret) I do have the best teeth of most my age, I need two sets every 7 years or so and I get them the in the whitest natural shade.

Hello Theresa. Thanks for the styling tips, agree with all of them. I guess the only thing I am stuck on is my hair. I have had it slightly different over the years, but I do prefer it long and straight with a few long layers in the front and I don't think I will ever change that. I simply don't like how I look, or more importantly how I FEEL with shorter hair. I did have to give up the high teased hair from the 80's, so at least I compromised LOL
