    Here we are, the beast itself, the Mazdaspeed 6, the AWD speed, what a weapon 💪

    • @byrnespeed
      @byrnespeed 4 роки тому

      Specially when you debadge them. People don't expect a mazda 6 to go sideways a tad when shifting in 2nd. Had a dyno tune with an AP2 and a brand new CST4 turbo, downpipe/hatepipe. Intake/inlet COBB. Autotech HpFp. Ran at 19-20 pounds stock internals. Nothing wrong happened. Basically you need to make the body way stiffer before performance mods. Side and rear engine eurethane mounts, big brake with braided hoses all the way. Oil cooler is a must on the Gen 1 MZR. Had H&R Sports, good enough for my confort. I have a bad back. So mate, do you own one??

    • @LifeOfTuners
      @LifeOfTuners  4 роки тому

      Even when you don't debadge them, people just see some 4 door sedan banging thru gears, sleeper status 💯, I defo am like you anndwhat the car to drive nicely too not just go fast in a straight line, I have a na gen 1, tho I've really been into speeds and the community for like 4plus years and loved them longer then that, and with that my passion for them has grown so much more and I've picked up quite a good understanding around them, i really am wanting to get a blown speed 3 for the channel, the content would be insane, though bloody covids put that idea on hold for a while 🙄 but I'm still gonna make it happen in the near future hopefully

    Another great vid man. Keep it up! The only Mazdaspeed ever tested, or even talked about, by the TopGear trio. Always made me wonder why since they all love hot hatches. I`d love to see those three banging around in different versions of the platform. There was a short segment on German TopGear, and on 5th Gear about the Mazdaspeed 3.

      That's a good story man, relationship goals as well, yeah fwd isnt the best, it kinda gives it it's character, but I'd take AWD anytime, I really do think there's a spot in the market for a new speed 3, I really do, esp if it's a manual, tho Mazda is tryna be all pRofEsSinAl, so I doubt they'd carry over the speed 3 name, but I've heard theres a group of staff at Mazda who are tryna convince them to revise it. I actually hear from a lot of people that both the golf r and focus Rs is tempting them, personally I'd go for a sti, since I believe it's only the WRX that has rev hang, but the sti does understeer, atleast that can be fixed, I've actually heard that the tuning on the focus is patchy, like it cuts timing/power alot, but the Subaru is complete crap inside, hopefully the new STI will be much better and I'm praying that Mazda make the sti, RS and golf r a new rival, man I want that

    • @LifeOfTuners
      @LifeOfTuners  Рік тому +1

      it doesn’t really matter for the most part, but in terms of engine mods the first one i’d get would be a high pressure fuel pump upgrade (hpfp)
      anything aside from a stock diameter intake, hpfp, cat back and upgraded tmic (top mount intercooler) will need a tune.
      in terms of making power this is sort of the steps in terms of parts
      hpfp
      intake
      2nd cat delete
      intercooler / downpipe (by here you’ll easily be making in the 300whp with a good tuner on pump gas, on an ethanol mix you’ll be seeing around 340s ish)
      turbo
      3” cat back
      that’s before you start going into the big stuff
      what would i do?
      resonator delete
      intake
      bov
      wheels/tyres
      lower it
      rear sway bar
      then look into making power

      I used to drive mazda 6, but never MPS. So I'm new to all this :D It's a low chance that I would go for a turbo upgrade. Figuring 300-350 is more than enough for daily..😇

      @LifeOfTuners  4 роки тому

      Yes the definately are the weakest point of the engine internally, but they're really not too weak, all you need to do is have the correct mods, with a good tuner and do maintenance often, with that the stock internals/rods etc are good for 450bhp at the crank, which is about 400whp in the speed 3s and about 370/380ishwhp on the speed 6

    • @LifeOfTuners
      @LifeOfTuners  4 роки тому +1

      The best tuners are people like Freektune, pd tuning and Nishan, they can all do e-tunes, what this means is that they'll make a tune and send it to you, and using your accesport or possibly laptop you can easily upload the tune to your car from anywhere in the world, then you'll need to do a pull and record a 'log' which is pretty easy, just press a button before you do the pull on a specified software, you'll then send that back to your tuner of choice, and they'll then send you revised tunes until it's perfect, they'll walk you through the whole thing and it's pretty easy, plus you don't need to travel

    Judging on your experience how much would it cost to do over, I’m talking stock to about 230-250 kw atw? Have been thinking of putting a bit of cash into a stock one. since almost of the good ones in Australia are clapped asf

    • @LifeOfTuners
      @LifeOfTuners  4 роки тому +1

      Well for that you'll need some sort of intake (200ish usd) a must is high pressure fuel pump internals (350ish usd), a decat downpipe (600ish for a quality one), plus to tune it you need an access port which is 600ish, but you can use a laptop with a tatrex cable, though an access port is recommended as then you can also monitor basically everything important (boost, afrs etc) now an intercooler is nessisary, you could go with a kit which is 900 ish or a core is like 250ish plus you'll need to buy the right pipes and fitting, next a big since stock ones can leak boost, that's another 65us, a catch can is optional, at 90usd, and also 1 step colder spark plugs, but that's more maintenance, peer that with e85, that should be right around 240wkw, it seems a lot, though if your going for power for cheaper, a speed 3 has less drivetrain loss, so cheaper to make power, to get to that level you'll only need intake, high pressure fuel pump, downpipe, intercooler, plus the spark plugs, all these prices are for quality parts from a quality place, so you can of course do it cheaper with second hand parts or lower quality parts 💯, I hope this helps, for more info I did a mod guide to the speed 3, though remeber to account for the extra drivetrain loss, so instead of like 12% it will be 18% ish
