My university thesis in 1973/4 was on mechanical seals and their failure modes, particularly distortion. I had a career in the oil industry specializing in maintenance and reliability of rotating equipment, and particularly the reliability of mechanical seals. I worked closely with seal manufacturers.
Excellent Videos, I’ve been doing pump seals for years and I still learned a few tricks , Thanks!!!
Excellent video!
Good video, rather than a screw driver into the impeller one could use a strap wrench....I've seen them cracked from using screw drivers...
No problem. Glad we could help!
Great video! Thanks so much.
Great video. Thanks
Sorry for the delayed response. Are you asking about the shaft sleeve? If so, you can certainly leave the shaft sleeve on if it's in good condition. I am working on a new motor and removing the shaft sleeve to show you how to replace it in the case that yours is bad. Regarding a pulley, I assume you meant puller? You can certainly heat up the shaft sleeve and use a puller. If your shaft sleeve needs to be replaced, I just find it quicker and easier to use a screwdriver.
Thanks now I can do it the right way the first time
Thanks. Most useful for me
Thank you, great job, big help
Bro I replaced the shaft sleeve on one pump a long ass time ago. Never did it again. Trust me, bro in the video struggled to take it off on a new pump, imagine one that’s 10-15 years old 💀
What happened to your other videos? I was looking for one I used for condensate pumps
Good work 🍓
Can you tell me what puller you used? The model and width.
Sweet.....Navy style.....
Ive always been told NEVER touch the ceramic seal? does it not affect the "seal"
why didnt you use a button at the end of the puller???
What size of puller did you use?
What I wanna know is what kind of locktite did he use for the brass sleeve?
