- Installation of the Nameless Axleback with 4 inch tips and 5 inch muffler on a 2017 WRX. I go over the physical differences, a detailed sound comparison between nameless and stock, installation guide, and finally I offer my thoughts on the final product.
If you're trying to get a good idea what the exhaust sounds like I suggest listening with high quality speakers (not cell phone).

Awesome video. I had a 2015 WRX Premium with the Nameless Axelback with Muffler deletes which at the time I loved but was a little too obnoxious...regret not going with the 5 in mufflers which is ultimately what I put on my Forester XT when I traded in the WRX. I'm now considering going back to the WRX now that I am out of the stroller stage with my kids so I will be doing the 5 in Mufflers again when I get the WRX. But you did a very nice comparison video of stock and the axelback...well done.

Just installed the 5" muffler 3.5" tip version on my 2018 WRX. It's really considerably louder than stock, I'm on the fence, gonna have to get use to this
Meanwhile I just straight piped my 2017 and love every seconds of it lol

Great video buddy. I was hesitant at first since I also drive a cvt. I was concerned that it may sound a little weird when the wrx would automatically shift though the gears. Based on your video, I might be sold 👍

I was walking into a grocery store when a guy stopped me to ask about my WRX, he then told me he had the CVT and I think he expected me to give him a hard time and seemed stocked when I didn't. Haha
Thanks for this video! Sounds AWEsome! You mentioned you were gonna put the link to the parts in the description, but I'm not seeing them. I haven't been able to find FOUR-inch tips. Did they maybe stop making them??? I've only been able to find THREE-inch tips (with the 5" muffler)...

Sounds good man. I personally don't like muffler deletes for this car, makes it sound too tin-ey. This exhaust sounds much classier, more refined.

This is one of the most consise and loaded videos I have watch on axleback with muffler videos on youtube. I plan to purchase for my new wrx/sti 2018. The only question remaining is how is the rusting situation. I steered away from the ETS because of numerous rusting issues.
Did you use the factory exhaust hanger? When I installed my ETS axle back on the factory hanger, the right side hangs lower than the left, leaving a bigger gap between the tip and rear bumper. Do you experience the same issue?

Took me forever to get the old exhausts off 'cause of the mildly rusty nuts & bolts, & the caked on underbody protectant on the pins & bushings.... Also I find it impossible to have the bushings upright with the Nameless since their pins are longer & I wanted the tips to fit more snugly against the pocket, thus pushing both bushings wider.

Love the video, I’ve been looking for a good comparison video and this did it! How much loader do you think this exhaust is from stock? I’m looking into the cat back and I want somthing that’ll sound good, especially when I’m on the gas, but won’t wake up my neighbors at 6am when I go to work (I live in a quiet neighborhood) I was looking at the 4” or 5” muffler options.
With the CVT did you get drone in certain RPM bands? Street vs Freeway? did you get drone in certain preset CVT modes like i / S / S# / at different bands?
Do you same issues with your CAT back?

I'm looking at an axle-back also. Leaning toward nameless 5" with either 3.5 or 4" tips. So this video helps. Do you need the new grommets???
Is there a big difference between 3" tips and 4" tips with the 5" muffler? (just preference or sound)

I like it. Louder than stock but not too loud. I think it would sound great on my '18 cvt wrx. Forgive the newb question but where would I find an exhaust similar to this one? Is nameles a brand or is it a generic part I can find pretty much anywhere?
Ʀɨςɧαɍđ uʉuפֿịʂƞꞀ Nameless is the brand. Theres another brand called remark that makes muffler deletes and they're 80$ cheaper than the nameless ones. I have the remark ones on my 18 wrx and love them. Theres pretty much no drone on the highway but when you go full throttle its pretty loud and when you shift you get some backfires sometimes
CVT has rumble as well!!! Awesome, Look to sell my legacy wagon and buy this WRX!!!
I bought mine with a muffler delete axelback. Thinking about changing mine to a 5" muffler because it's pretty loud at 75mph on the highway. Is this exhaust loud on the highway?

Where did you get your gaskets? our they nameless specific or can I use them on a another branded axleback. Thanks, just want to make sure I get a good seal on my magnaflow axle back and not waste time with random gaskets. I just ordered the ones from subie speed @boost & shutter

The only question I'm left with (because you answered everything else) is, what's the weight difference between the stock muffler and the Nameless? It looks like you drop about 20-25lbs per muffler.

I’m just curious why you chose a cvt of a manual. In my opinion you get a lot more out of the car with a manual transmission. I love my 2018 wrx.
@@erockg9139 it's a matter of personal preference. So, Driving a manual doesn't automatically make you a better driver over the person that drives a cvt. Just my 2 cents 😉
A nice (and less expensive) alternative to an AWE Touring cbe. I could have saved $500 going with these mufflered axle-backs....

I have the exact Nameless axle back on my 2018 wrx, and it's sagging a little to low, not sure if installed incorrectly, do you think it can be adjusted without cutting and welding?

Matthew Marchant that’s your limited opinion. I’ve beaten CVTs in my manual and I’ve beaten manuals in my homies CVT. Unless you’re doing big power Stage 3 things then they are basically the same damn car. Take your elitist bullshit elsewhere.
What gaskets did you use for this since it was preowned?
i do not recommend this 5 inch........u will barely hear anything at all! maybe if u live in a quiet city....but the road noise is louder than this.......u barely hear it at all......should skip the 5 inch and get the 4 at least.....
