This is 10 months late but, he added the “this is the guitar solo” because so many people thought he was lip syncing!
One of the videos I watched they said when Roger Taylor heard Marc sing for the first time he cried.
I've seen a few comments (on his video) that people were convinced he was lip-syncing until he mentioned the guitar solo. They complained that it was "too easy" for him, not enough strain.
His range is amazing. Freddie was insanely gifted and had a tendency to push his voice to achieve the performance. Freddie lived for the music and pushed his limits to to his voice to places most could never go. Marc is also self taught, with his voice and musical instruments. If you listen to both, you will hear the slight differences, and Freddie just pushed himself..some say he pushed too hard. Marc is more careful, he isnt trying to be Freddie only trying to honor him which I believe he has...
Both have great range! But for me it's how one uses what they have regardless of range. Marc has a wider range in my opinion and seems to sing with more ease. Listening side by side mashup I finally noticed why I like Freddie more, he uses a particular enunciation or inflection on words that others miss, this is consistent in Freddies music. He also goes off beat for just a second then gets right back onto it whereas Marc sings to the beat. Freddies puts more personality and emotion into this naturally, a different style than most. Marc tries to put the same emphasis on words but you can tell he is trying, it is not natural for him. Hard to explain.
That bit when he says this is the guitar solo was done so they wouldn’t think he was lip syncing because of how scarily similar he sounds to freddie

Okay so i know this was a year ago but look for him doing this song on American Idol with the band that was picked along with Roger and Bryan. Also he sang this song for Celine Dion, i believe it was for her birthday and it was done in Canada. Now the only song that No One ever reacts to which i think is one of Marcs best is You Take My Breath Away

2:34 - Roger Taylor has said Marc is "exactly Freddie" a number of times. Plus, on more than one occasion, Marc fooled Roger, who thought he was listening to a Freddie track when it was actually Marc singing.
5:53 - The ONLY "vocals" Rami did in the movie were of Freddie's speaking voice. The word was spread around that he did some of the singing, but that was just a lie to help him win his Academy Award. That's been confirmed by multiple sources.
9:01 - 2011 was the auditions. The only time Marc has performed with "Queen" is during the debut of Queen Extravaganza on American Idol. Marc has sung with Roger Taylor a couple other times, however.
9:42 - Marc has said all he does is put on a bit of a British accent, to sound more like Freddie's.

BY THE WAY, Roger Taylor was the only one involved with Queen Extravaganza. It was totally his baby. Marc has the same tone as Freddie. Marc is more cleaner with all words and Freddies is more raw and truly from the heart.

Saw him live with his band Downhere back at Briercrest Bible college opening for another Christian band Tree63. I met him after and told them they should’ve been the main act and posed the question “has anyone ever told you that you sound and look just like Freddie?” “All the time my friend, all the time” later went on to be a morning On Air and got to interview him as his band grew tremendously and what a pleasure to see the success from his audition video! Love this guy!

Do his cover of Love of My Life. If you think he sounds like Freddie here when you listen to that with your eyes closed the similarity will bring a tear to your eye!

Another fun reaction, thanks!! Marc has said his adlib of "this is the guitar solo" was to deter people from saying he was lip-synching in the audition. Roger Taylor provided all the Queen Extravaganza contestants with the backing track Marc sings to here, but one of my favorite things Marc does in his covers of other songs is sing the guitar solos. His cover of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters has an amazing example of that if you're interested!
He does also have a solo rock album from around 2015 with the tongue in cheek title Impersonator. A couple songs off that album have videos on his channel: 'Say the Word' and 'Stalemate'.

Marc even looks a bit like Freddie. If he was younger he must’ve been the reïncarnation of Freddie
The resemblance is stronger when he has a moustache. Marc has a large jaw and wide mouth like Freddie and it helps with the resemblance. Somehow Marc has an understanding of and able to create tonal sounds approaching other musical performances. Not quite a musical mimic, because there are slight differences but spirit, and intent is there and Marc is talented enough to add small changes to show his brilliance It an amazing gift. Marc has also said he naturally found himself unconsciously singing early on in a style very much like Freddie. I don't know if Marc has Freddie's range, maybe it doesn't matter. Freddie was one of a kind, and while I do believe Marc is his own man, his posthumous tributes to great singers bring joy to the living and honors the dead.

Marc is "more than just Freddie" He is a dead ringer for Luciano Pavarotti. He performs BOTH Mercury and Pavarotti. "Mercurotti" Nessun Dorma. Be prepared for an out of body experience!!
Just discovered this guy and he’s a freak of nature. Damn insane vocals. Awesome reaction Mr. Tuffnuts.
Saw him in concert July 9th in Woodstock, GA. The crowd went wild for him and his band. He puts on a fantastic show.
That show was amazing!!!! I was in the mosh pit with his wife, and also backstage some as my son flew in from Seattle to bring the jacket and jeans Marc wore after the intermission he had designed for him❤️ I have videos and pics from that show but can’t post here. Marc and his wife are incredible ppl. When I dropped my son off at the venue preshow I was in the parking lot and Marc saw me and ran up to give me a great hugs, his hugs are the Best!!!! We went to brunch with them the next day and it was an honor to hear Marc say the blessing before we ate😇🙏❤️

Thank you for reacting to more videos of Marc. He's got a beautiful voice and it is so fun seeing more people find him and dive into what music he's done. He does have some solo music as well, under "The Prelude EP" and his tongue-in-cheek titled album "Impersonator".
Check out the song Paradise on the solo album Impersonater. The whole album is great! Also there is a video of him covering another song nobody should try….I will always love you…Whitney style…and he kills it!!!! There is also a video of him performing Somebody to Love for Celine Dion….she cry’s and is quite smitten watching him perform. I finally got the chance to meet him at a charity event last year where he performed 5 Queen songs. Awesome dude….very nice guy. Should be more famous….what a talent!
Yep, Downhere toured with Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith... They got together and recorded Christmas songs of late and absolutely love it. One last thing to throw in, I watched a lot of QE material on here and it was just amazing hearing the crowd sing back to Marc During Crazy little thing called love. That "Ready Freddie" from the crowd sat me back in my seat.

So, what is Mark doing today? He is still touring with The Ultimate Queen Celebration. Still doing what he loves to do. He has an EP of Christmas music from a few years ago. His Silent Night is beyond awesome. Wow.
He compiled his 2016, 2017 and 2018 Christmas EPs into one called The Christmas Collection and for Christmas 2020, he released another EP called Thank God It's Christmas, named after the Queen song he covers on this EP. He also includes his successful original How Many Kings (which he wrote during his Downhere days) on the Christmas Collection.

Hi Tom! I just watched your reaction to Marc’s cover of Bohemian Rhapsody and commented that you needed to see this one, but I was a few months late to the game and you already had! I actually have a similar experience to yours. I first saw Marc when he was with “Downhere”. He performed at a local church along with Aaron Quist and Jason Gray. I too got to meet them and had bought a souvenir pair of drumsticks that they all signed. I still have them 😃 Side note: If you haven’t already, you should listen to Downhere’s Christmas song “How Many Kings”. I actually fell in love with the song first, even before I knew who sang it. It’s beautiful. Looking forward to more of your awesome reactions!
Downhere is one of the best Christian bands that ever existed. Amazing songwriting, musicianship and arrangements.

If you like to see cover bands check out Resurrection which is a Journey cover band out of Nashville and they are phenomenal!! Seen them in concert twice and can't get enough of Marc and Resurrection.

He was asked way back in 2012 to do the vocals for the movie. He is currently working on a album with an opera singer doing rock/opera duets, the first one was Too Much Love Will Kill You (also Queen) as well as a recent project with a supergroup which may lead to more collaboration - Let Me Entertain You (also Queen). He also does a ton, ton, of Christmas stuff. Collaborations on them with Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith. His own band, UQC, is a major focus but he also performs with Black Jacket Symphony which does full albums of classic rock and when they do Queen, he is guest lead singer.

@@papabearM3 Actually he can. He's a natural born mimic...check out his cover of Right here Waiting...very much like Richard Marks. There's also a video of him doing a radio spot, mimicking a number of other singers.
I would wager that every time Freddie sang these songs, he sang them slightly differently. Allowing for thise subtle differences, I think these covers are nearly spot on. I also think that a near 70 year old Freddie would have been warbling standards with Rod Stewart (who kills them by the way)
