Stevi-Nixx & Myka - Perch Work - this one noted for behavior stuff - July 21 2024

I like this video for the behavior stuff it points out . Difficult for Nixx here in this vid. Revisiting something she hasn't done in a while, and that I didn't do as much of with her as I did with my other dogs as youngsters. Going to make a point of working on it a couple times a week for a minute or two each session.
She gets stressed, and as a result the itching starts. I don't often see that with her, and I immediately release her from work (give her a break) and call in a different dog (Myka). Myka hasn't done this in a long time, and it takes her a hot minute to do it well. I have a second video with two different dogs as well - Raena & Andy.
Nixx almost immediately decides she is ok, and tries to return to work, only to find it is not her turn 🙂. When I do call her back to work, she comes in willingly and she did a nice job. If she had not been able to return and show some understanding of the task, it means I need to break it down into smaller steps for her.
I like pivot work a lot for obedience skills, rear-end awareness, strength-building, and I also find it to be a great beginning step toward getting a solid start-line stay.
