Joe Pass said: 'Learn as many tune melodies as you can'.
I'm learning all the tunes that I used to learn the sax.
Playing them in different positions on the neck.
This is the best way to learn where the notes are and
at the same time giving a roadmap into improvising.

Yes there are definitely levels and to know which notes make up which chords and find them in real time takes a lot of practice. At least I know it is not magic and for years I thought it was. Thanks for sharing your guitar knowledge.

Hello Charlie 😇! Longtime subscriber here! I really enjoy your well explained tutorial on the guitar 👍! It's a great big help to beginners on how to expand their knowledge from the minor Pentatonic scale to other lead lines by adding Major Pentatonic or adding Mixolydian scale or maybe even diminished scale 👍! Rock on 🎸

Did you learn classical guitar? You put the guitar over the left leg. I play the ukulele since I have shoulder problems and it hurts to play anything larger. I have to use a strap for my baritone ukulele. My piano teacher loaned me his guitar to learn how to play harmonics, but I was hurting just from the size. Maybe I should have put the guitar on the left leg?
BTW this is out of my pay grade since I'm learning the fretboard with triads and pentatonics, and it isn't automatic yet. This video is great as an inspiration for how to practice.

I didn’t actually…it just seems natural because that’s where the guitar would be if I was standing…my arms feel like they’re in a neutral position relaxed by my sides. Best wishes for your playing 🎸🎸

@@CharlieLongGuitar Agreed, your shoulders look very relaxed. I am jealous since I live with a FURS Syndrome.

Your solo sounds like Marty Friedman. Did he take lessons from you?
