That’s one incredible lineup. Sodom, Esoteric, Ahab, Defeated Sanity, Brodequin, Haemorrhage, Arcturus, Mortuary Drape, Agalloch, Archgoat, and Dismember alone is worth it. It’s also cool you got to meet Beaver Mosh and Necrotic Nick from Thralls of Metal too.

I was one of those people that approached you on Thursday :P I was a little nervous and think I definitely caught you off guard but was cool to see you! This was my first MDF and I had the most amazing time. Agalloch was also the star of the show for me, but there were sooo many good sets. I counted and was able to catch 37 of them! Definitely going to try to return next year.
Glad you had a great time! Unfortunately I live far from Maryland (in the Midwest) so I couldn’t go. But, I’m making up for it by seeing the most brutal band in the world with my mom: Night Ranger!
Maryland Deathfest sounds like an amazing experience and am really hoping to finally get to go next year.

Cool you saw Extortion. Saw them when they supported Napalm Death out here a few years ago and Barney - wearing an Extortion shirt - got on stage and did tracks with them.

Just as I had a growing suspicion that what was my first MDF was also going to be my last due to entertainment visa fees for international touring bands astronomically rising (from $400 to $1600) they already announce an MDF 2025 which is shocking but im stoked and definitely making that 5 hour trip from my state again.
I still think it's going to be much harder booking this one tho or at least we might see less non American acts outside the main stages because that major fee increase is going to be crippling to a great portion of underground bands.

i fucking love extortion they're from my general area and that dude was kind of lying, for people in USA definitely more of a once in a lifetime thing, but recently they've been doing heaps of shows around in more underground venues here, and i managed to see them twice i think, based band tho dude I clicked the video because first of all, I love your videos n i watch all of them, but second i saw a bunch of insta videos from extortion abt playing at maryland deathfest and i had to know whether or not you saw them

Love Archgoat, but I don't think their sound is war metal. Imagery is, but they're too groovy. More black/death metal.
Black/Death is another way of describing War Metal. Unless you meant Blackened Death. Archgoat is definitely WM though they're not fond of the name.
