I had a platinum and my hair was chemically treated at the time and platinum still left kinks in my hair hope the new gold styler will be better. Looks good in the video 🙂

I don't know how it feels because I don't have either of them, I own the classic one! but in my opinion, I think the GHD Gold looks better and with more body... the Platinum looks nice. the only thin k I don't like is that it makes your hair look less fulled in comparison to the Gold side.... so definitely the Gold.! thank you for this demo, now I know which one to buy....
Also, in the reviews (of Platinum +) on the site where I ordered Pro-Luxe from, a girl inserted a side by side picture of herself after using Platinum +, left picture was her with unstyled hair & on the right she had straightened one side of her hair and curled the other. The curls looked sooo beautiful
I have the original ghd for years too but the plastic on the cord ripped and I can see exposing wires although they’re not poking out it still works it was my fave for ever! Did you buy the gold?

Have you used the regular gold (older version)? I keep finding them on sale so I'm debating if I should get the older version for half the price, or if the new gold one is worth the extra $100! Let me know :)

I personally love my Karmin.
To be fair, you should have done the new gold vs the new platinum plus. I have the platinum plus and it is so much better for your hair than the gold. Plus you experienced drag from the old Platinum due to product buildup on the plates. GHD does make a superior product.

OMG I am so confused now; I saw your review 1st, u said u already had the platinum then u got newer 1 which is the gold & the gold looked so much better. Then I saw another review & she had the gold for years but the platinum just came out where in her review the platinum looked nicer.
Unless they had a platinum then made the gold then a newer platinum this is not making n e sense!

You don’t need to hold it as long as other straighteners

When i straight my hair this straight break a lot of my hair because the temperature is to high
You could try using more hair at once when it is hotter which will help not burn that easily x
Your hair could be too fine for the temperature. You may want to go with an iron that has a temperature control.
The platinum adapts it's temperature to how fine your hair is, so might be a better option
