Must say, absolutely love my pair of adios 7’s. Ran my 10k PB in them Sunday just gone at 42:30 & they were just sublime, was considering using the vaporfly next%2 but opted for these & I wasn’t disappointed I used the adios 7. So responsive & snappy. What a great shoe for the price.
Well I am a big fan of the Boston 7-9 from Adidas, and I was a bit disappointed by the Adios 6. The boost in the Boston was much more comfortable then the Adios 6. And the Adios are awkwardly loud. My tip for a shoe in this category ( Old Bostons, New Adios ) definately are the Skechers Razor Excess.
Theory is that stones get stuck in both heel and forefoot, but as you heel strike you shove stones in outsole and forefoot just bends as you run widening a bit those lines so stones get out of it... heel does not bend so you got stones inside heel outsole. Production mistake, those lines in the back shoud be thicker and triangle shape so stones can not get stuck.
Great review! I love the Adios 6! I've got more than 200k on mine and it stick rocks everywhere! I'm afraid of the lack of support on the heel on the Adios 7. I've got some heel's instability issues. I just bought another Adios 6 on sale and maybe next year I'll try the 7.
For this one of the models with a little more outsole surface area might help. The heel counter is very thin in the Adios 7. Possibly even more than the 6. Thanks for watching Melissa 👍🏼👊
Hard to resist when these are on sale at the moment for around $32 USD. Looking forward to checking them out! Seems like there aren't many reviews of them on UA-cam other than Ed. Hope it works for my foot shape!
Great review Edd. Just answered my question to you in the members forum a few days ago. Great tip and advice on the narrow feel as I had noticed in the 6. Going to look into the wider version in the 7 for sure 😀 Thanks bud 👍
Picked the 6 up in December after your videos came out reviewing it.... Terrific shoe, I really enjoy running in them, light and nimble. I've only got 45 miles so far as I rotate too much 🙊 The grip even on some slightly icy pavements over the winter was tremendous.
I purchased adios 6 after your review and after getting frustrated with puma liberate. I've had 6 now for 7 months and ran about 150k and used mainly for tempo runs of around 16k. They are a joy to run it. I am using it for half marathon racing in Sept. I was thinking of buying novablast 3 but I could change mind and purchase this instead after this review. Thanks.
Here is Canada it can be difficult to get your hands on the wide version so I ordered a pair from somewhere in Spain. They came today and fit great. I put in a different, more cushioned, insole for fun and they feel fantastic.
I had a bad dream last night about round stones sticking in my Adios 7 outsoles!! Haha. Fortunately I have not experienced this phenomenon during my running journeys!
Yeah i got the 6 in january initially to replace the boston 9. I do like the shoe and its at 160miles. It feels snappier but the boston 9 had better grip. Over 400miles in the boston9. Where i could take the boston on 30k and 20 mile runs i cant push these past 14 though. The boost in the heel was more forgiving. this shoe is great for longer 10 mile and 12mile tempo runs or faster runs just feels like you control the shoe. The shoe doesnt control you. Perhaps thats why the boston 9 was liked so much. Will get the 7 on discount when ive run the 6 into the ground.
Good to see you like the adios 7..I don't use any adidas that has the torsion gizmo in the midsole..every one I tried was flat and stiff with no cushioning and no bounce back..when I look back,I can see that I never liked any adidas shoes until the OG adios pro V1..as of now that and the Takumi Sen 8 are winners for me..jury is still out on the adios pro 3..couple of issues need attention to make it a 5k race shoe..
I've been listening to Republica the past few days, Ready to Go would make a excellent pre-race song. A lot of people dunk on 90s music, but there's some real gems if you look beneath the surface. Ajax!
I recall sky sports using it for their pre football build up and it worked a treat. Put a “Beast - Eddbud” name sticker into the micra. People keep giving me funny looks….. 😂
This shoe is tempting, but I’m stuck on the Takumi Sen 8. I experienced some level of Achilles and hip in a few different models, but never in adizeroPro, Boston 8/9 and/or Takumi Sen 8. My current rotation is limited to the Takumi Sen 8, and I’m breaking out Terrex Speed Ultra (the Boston TR) this week for some road and light trail work. The Speed Ultra will factor more through the winter. I have Takumi Sen 6 and Terrex Speed Pro when I want something more aggressive. I’m stuck on these options, but I’m willing to try other low(ish) stack LIGHTSTRIKE PRO models. ✌🏽💙🏃🏽♂️
You know how much I loved the Boston 8 & 9 (went through multiple pairs of each). I did try the adios 6 and it somehow felt a bit awkward on my feet so I didn’t take it out on the road for a trial…I still had a couple of Boston 9’s to go through anyway. However, this version looks like it may feel more refined as did the old Bostons for me, so I’ll want to try it out. Right now my only adidas’ are the last Boston 9 (which is relegated as a walking shoe), the Takumi Sen 7 which is mostly for track w.o.’s (but could be for XC) and the Takumi Sen 8 which I adore & used out of the box at BolderBoulder 10k. I think it even could go to HM for a lightweight like myself.
That's where I'm at this moment too. Sticking with a 2 pairs of good old Boston 8's. I was waiting for Adios 7 review and I guess I shall wait longer for the 8th. Too narrow. Takumi Sen 8 will be my choice now. ...I guess I like no. 8 for some reason... 😎
@@mikowhy9608 The Boston 8 was pretty narrow too so this might still work for you. It has a similarly missile-like look that reminds me of the 8’s. But yeah, the TS8 has me very spoiled. I’m saving it for racing only.

Hey Ed , I'm loving my Boston 11 and if you can you should compare it with the Zoomfly 5 ! I’ve enjoyed my Adios 6’s, but at 265 miles, the outsole on toe off on the lateral side is almost worn down the the Lightstrike Pro. It’s been a great show as a daily trainer, just expected more out of the outsole like the older Bostons where I got we’ll over 400 miles in them.

My adios7 forefoot upper is starting to tear up after 60km on my true to size 8 5 UK. Very fast, light, and populsive with decent cushioning indeed. Conti outsule durable as to be expected. but they sacrificed too much weight to the detriment of upper durabilty. Good thing i got it for 40% off. Yeah must admit the Adios 7s have been a bit problematic for me. Not really run in them that much and already got a hole in the upper on the inside edge near big toe. Maybe should have gone for the wide fit ones.
Little stones do not get lodged in the fore foot because there is a lot of flexion, that widens the gap and they fall out. The heel doesn't flex much, so the stones stay there

The upper is not so comfy because of the light mesh build. What i can say ist that i really, really like it. Unfortunatly the weather right now in Germany is not made for the Adios.......😆
@@larsruck3390 Here in Brasil is hot as hell.... I had the takumi sen 8, excelent for speed works but found very hard to distances like Half marathon, I also had the SL20 years ago and is kind of a daily trainer but for me better to distances up 10-12km, maybe the Adios can be a better replace and more forgiving but also concerned with the toebox space.
Luigi Kalina? Luigi Colani?
Not sure how it’s pronounced.
Podium?

dont buy this shoe!! I dont know whats happening, I dont know if its a manufacturing problem, I just keep seeing people w the EXACT same rip, inside edge, a bit close or behind to where the big toe starts.
At first it felt tight and hurt my back heel a bit, but once they broke in they were PERFECT. and that's why I'm incredibly sad to have noticed a rip, after 60-70k in the first month. I'll keep running in them since I already spent the money :/ It's a shame cus I truly enjoyed them.
If anyone more experienced than me knows of a model with around the same weight (10-15 more grams is fine) than the Adios with a better upper quality, please let me knowwww. Would rly appreciate it.
Haven’t seen too many issues like that.
A 10 mile run can under no circumstances be considered a long run.
Yes it can thanks. Maybe not for you as you probably run much further each week than I do.
Took delivery of these today. After first run absolutely amazing shoe. 👏
It’s a great very versatile shoe. Gets even better the more miles you put into it.
