Thank you Nieke I knew very little about this Spanish King.
Glad you liked it !
I was pleasantly surprised when I realised that today wasn't our regular video premier day. Thank you both for this educational video as well as for the surprise. I've read a little about Queen Maria of Parma but I knew nothing about her husband before watching this video. I must also praise your choice of images used in the video. The paintings are beautiful and the clothes depicted in the paintings are dazzling.
I've changed my schedule a bit because I doubt anyone is waiting for a video on christmas Eve or New Years Eve. People are busy with other things on those days... My video for this week will also come out today, one day earlier...
Another great video and early! Thank you very much!
During the holidays my schedule is a bit different. I doubt anyone would be waiting for a video on Christmas Eve, or on New Years Eve...
Excellent video! A colonial Spanish Military Hospital was named in his honor here in St. Augustine, Florida! Merry Christmas 🎄♥️
That's very interesting to know ! Thank you for sharing Christine 🌻
OMG! What a jaw dropping thank you! I enjoy our content so much that it was the least I could do to give you a hand. If my fellow viewers also enjoy it I urge them to do so too. Just click on the dots on the far right under the video window and you will see the option to give a monetary thanks. Thank you, thank you! Edited to add: Is that a pacifier in baby Charles' hand in the painting?
Thank you so much for that donation... It means the world to me and it'll be put to good use for the channel itself ... Wishing you a great New Years Eve.
@@TheKingsofFrance You are very welcome! Bon Annee!

@@TheKingsofFrance Thank you so much! Happy New Year and best wishes for the coming year! 🤗 Cheers my friend. So far so good. A new me! I wish you much success this year. 🤗
Excellent!
Glad you liked it !
Poor, ineffectual, incapable Charles, and what a Consort! I have always wondered why his family tolerated Goya's unflinching, brutal, and brilliant group portrait. As ever, your videos are wonderful. Thank you, and have a splendid Christmas. 🎄
Thank you, have a great New Years Eve celebration !
@@TheKingsofFrance Thank you. You too!
Carlos IV was part of the cause why Fernando VII became so hard and brutal.
@Jorge Bersabe Yes, from one extreme to the other.
Merry Christmas to you!
And to you !!!
YALL BETTER SAY THANKS TO ME GUYS I REQUESTED THIS!! 💖💪🏽😙
anyways Charles IV of Spain is the father of the most musty dusty crusty spanish monarch. 😐💀🙄 but anyways, NICE CONTENT AS USUAL!!!! PLEASE KEEP WHAT U ARE DOING I LOVE YOUR CONTENT!!! :D
EDIT: CAN YOU DO FERDINAND VI OF SPAIN NEXT?? I am sorry if I am overwhelming you :(
thnx!
Some say he's not even his father. On her deathbed, Maria Luisa admitted that none of their children were his. She had had multiple affairs throughout their marriage and frankly I do believe that at least the majority of their offspring was illegitimate.
@@Kingpowch OH YEAH TRUE!!! DIDNT SHE HAVE AN AFFAIR WITH ONE OF THE PRIME MINISTERS?!
@@lillineviellewasherelmao Rumor has it that her two youngest children, Maria Isabel and Francisco de Paula were actually fathered by her PM Manuel Godoy
@@Kingpowch i knew it something was suspicious about her..

@@TheKingsofFrance My pleasure! Your work is absolutely amazing ♥️♥️👏🏻
As ever, marvellous. I think if you ever stopped posting I would be very unhappy. Miserable...
I'm not planning on stopping yet...
His wife Maria Luisa and daughter Carlota Joaquina are considered among the most extremely unpopular queens consort of the 18-19th century
Hey homie remember me?? 😙
@@lillineviellewasherelmao Yes of course I remember you, Monseigneur Philippe d'Anjou. How is your family doing?
Can I ask you a question: Who do you love more, Maria Luisa Gabriela or Elisabetta Farnese? Thank you
@@Kingpowch ah. honestly.. dont know. 1st wife was amazing, and 2nd wife cheers me up all the time. oh, and my family is doing amazing, thank you for asking. :)
@@lillineviellewasherelmao Both gave you some amazing children. Your majesty surely is proud of Ferdinand VI and Charles III, aren't you?
@@Kingpowch ah yes. louis was also a innocent soul too. i am so glad to have all 3 of them, especially my 2 wives in my life. :)
Merry Christmas my friend. Hope you're doing well.
Merry Christmas to you too !!

After Godoy fell out of favor the Queen took a new favorite named Manuel Mayo a friend of Simon Bolivar's two maternal uncles Esteban and Pedro Palasios and a roommate to Esteban Palasios. Some time after that Manuel Mayo lost the Queen's favor (and his place in her bed).Godoy returned to power again.
Carlos IV was a good and kind man, but weak and eager to please, whose influence on his son, Fernando VII, was making the latter into a cold, serious, dispassionate and brutal man who was obsessed with proving he wasn't a pushover like his father.
Thanks for watching and commenting !
@@TheKingsofFrance Thanks! Fernando VII had the penchant for answering any slight with extreme brutality, specially the political ones.
Great job with another fantastic video. Charles is A improvement over his son. On the subject of his son; Ferdinand seventh of Spain; he could have had more children IF he had married someone outside of the immediate family. But, King of France- what do you think about King Ferdinand Seventh 's wedding night to his third wife.
@@lillineviellewasherelmao Did you ever heard the story of Ferdinand seventh of Spain ?
HEY. WE MADE A DEAL ABOUT NOT TALKING ABOUT THE 3RD MARRIAGE. 😭😭

Aparently Godoy had a bastard son named Francisco Alphonso de la Torre who became a Whipping boy for Carlos IV's kids.

Lol ! Thanks for watching !
Maria Luisa
Not a fan, I presume ?
Given the greater "value" placed on male offspring over female, l am puzzled why the young boys are often dressed as young girls. 🤔
Because 1) it was easier for potty training and 2) wearing breeches was a rite of passage for boys...
