F the haters dean there’s thousands of us who are big fans and don’t often write or comment much, we all appreciate all the work and sacrifice and incredible talent and heart it takes to compete at your level let alone the several potentially career ending injuries you’ve endured. Honestly amazes me that anyone can hate on a guy like Deano just shows how mindless these haters are. Love from London 🇬🇧!
I LOVE THIS. Please do more basic drill videos like this. So inspiring. Even as a novice, I understand that it's all about being brilliant at the basics. Thank you Dean!!! Good luck this season.
What a generous gesture ! You are helping many many riders with your selfless acts of kindness coaching those who can’t afford to go to academies or camps. Well done Champ !
DEAN WILSON #15
2011 AMA Pro Motocross 250 class CHAMPION !
2017 AMA Pro Motocross 4th place overall !
I’ve always been a fan of yours my friend ! Your riding style, abilities, accomplishments, and the way you carry yourself are nothing short of professional !
Great tips Dean, cheers!
My brother and I were very lucky to do some training with you in Scotland back in 2010 and 2011. We still practice the things you taught us then!

Thanks Dean, My season starts back at the end of this month I race the over 60 class and still love to try new techniques. Enjoy your life and stay healthy bud
Hey Dean.
I’ve always been a fan. My junior MX race number was 15.
I then got another bike in 2003 in my 40’s. I started entering local cross country Hare Scrambles. I would finish in the back lot of riders mostly because I would slide out in corners. One of NZ ‘s top MX riders was also practicing at a local track one day and did these same cornering drills. Also a zig zag up and down a grassy slope of about 45deg standing for clutch and throttle control.
Anyway. All that to say. I stopped falling off when racing and got three trophies that year. Most improved rider. Second overall 250 class. And the horses arse trophy for not seeing the chequered flag and doing an extra circuit. 😂
So these drills really do work folks. Thanks Dean all the best. Take care. Go hard.
Paul.
Good stuff! Appreciate the knowledge share!! Good luck this weekend and stay healthy.

Thank you Dean. That was great. More of this please.
I'd love me some more Deano tech tips. Thanks for sharing and best of luck this weekend!
Hi Dean been watching you for years, one of my favorite all time riders. Love the training videos keep them coming please
Dean this is an Awesome Video.
grandpa earl is my hero
Love the video 👌🙂 would like to see more like it 😁😎
Great vídeo my teacher ...
I really liked this Deano. I could care less about watching somebody pound out laps on an sx track. 95% of us will never do that. This type of video is much more appealing for me.
This was a great video! Let's see more!!
Deep rails horse pity there isn't as much open ground in Ireland! Can't take a puss wit out complaints lol .
Keep er lit lad 😎
good drills for the basics. thanks for sharing Dean!
gonna use this next time I ride 👍thankyou deano
No problem 👍
We used to set up two markers, 50’ apart and do laps. Clockwise, counterclockwise, and figure-8. Slide your butt off the seat to the outside, wieght the outside peg, lean the bike over. As you get faster and as the berm forms, you get get to the point where your peg drags. Then, you can get where your handlebar slims the grass.
You should do more of these technique videos
This is brilliant thanks Deano from Australia 👍 I’m 12 months into recovery after a fractured shoulder and Ive been doing nothing but grinding away at figure 8s and a small turn track and its been great to see a man of your calibre doing these drills. I’ll have to give the circle a go too. Would love to see more of these types of vids …I often wonder what you pro’s know that we don’t 😂
Deano the man! Thank you for doing this! I am a big fan since day 1, always thought you deserved so much more but hey life is life and sometimes sh*% happens. After all these years you’re still the same humble dude, thanks for that! Take care 👊🏻
love to hear how to get better from the top guys in the sport. so keep em coming!
good times man. Still fun till this day aha. always find myself doing some turn tracks at least once a week lol. good vid bro!🤘
Impresionante muchas gracias excelente video. Saludos desde Argentina ⭕⚪⭕
We like the video - keep ‘em comin !
Pro tips from a pro!
More people should take the advice of pros to do basic drills like this. Instead of going to the track and trying to go as fast as possible, reinforcing their poor technique. Thanks for the tips deano
Deano needs to go to the moto academy........ Time for a collab with AJ.....
Great video! Keep making this type of videos!!
that's some excellent balance there on the turn tracks boys and girls, Train for balance in the gym as well as on the track . Good stuff. Thanks Deano !
please do more of these thank you
Awesome stuff Deano
Great video deano. Me and my young lad are just back from the track today (milton farm) im sure you might have been there in your younger days before leaving home land.
I would appreciate more of these kind of videos as it gives my son reece alot to think about plus myself as im learning 2 wheels again from my younger days. Slightly rusty these days haha.
Keep up the good work and your work on the socials. All the best 👍
It would be good to know some tips for lever positions, hand positioning on the grips and re gripping the throttle hand 😎
Dirt looked unreal! More choob like this please Deano 👊🏻🤘🏻
Love it 🙌🏻
Nice to hear top rider comment on riding around injury. Resilience. Wonder what affordable knee pads/braces you would buy if broke.
what model of neken handlebars do you use? height or measurements? cordial greetings from guadalajara mexico🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love it! Any tips for the long ruts leading into a corner?
Great vid deano I do have question tho for tall riders I strongly believe they have the best style on a bike however I do feel there elbows drop half the time they are turning is that just a from not focusing on keeping them up or does that happen naturally due to there stature
Mostly cuz we’re just lanky bastards. That’s why these are so important
@@deanwilson3194 haha for sure thanks for the tips mate
Yeah mate great video , yep do more of these tech tips showing us all the tips that helped you reach the top mate , even what diet and off bike training , break it all down mate explain to the viewers what it takes to get to your level 👍
Would love to see what your throttle hand clutch hand are doing with the levers to control corner speed stay in rut etc🤘🙂
If only I had a hillside like that to ride on
More technique drills would be great.
Love the tips. I've haven't been on a bike in a while I'm 56 but I have three grandsons that I'll do everything I can to help them
ok I really like this
Its so hard making a rut in my opionion. Whats the most important when making a rut would you say form or looking ahead. I struggle with looking ahead a lot.
i miss the smell of that wet cali soil in the winter with the green weeds everywhere.
Canny beat it pal
You ar the man baby
Lovin' this a lot!!! When are you doing a school with AJ? P.s I've got an 18 mth old with a Scottish girl, you're all full mad!! Come to W Australia and do a class.
Grandpa Earls form was better, just saying.! Thanks Deano! Awesome Chube as usual!
Hi Dean🤝 from Thailand
Dean…. Are you using the clutch in the turns for throttle control?
Thanks!
YESSSSSS!
Dean! Way to handle JB51 after he almost killed you on that double before the whoops in the first race! I wish you would have parked him but you kept it respectful.
are these drills done in mostly 1st gear?
thats by my house literally colton haaker used to live right there as well
Go Dean
In deep ruts try slowing down with front brake and go straight for the deepest inside rut, continue braking with one finger and crack open the throttle as you enter the turn while pushing the front brake. You’ll never corner faster. Front brake and throttle at the same time all the way through the turn. Try it.. you’re welcome
Where did this video take place?
Dean Wilson or aj catanzaro
🔥🤙🏁
👍
👊✊✊
You should open up a Moto academy. You have a lot more experience
👍🏻👍🏻🇮🇪🇮🇪
Dude went from 10th places on the husky to 16th on the satélite honda 💀
i ride also crf 450 but oh man a 450 is soo a big shithole for tight tracks i will sell it twostroke all day
Yeah when you go out to the local tracks and try to practice these things you can't so finding a vacant lot or public land is the only way to get good at what you are weak at doing. Maybe you can show how to whip for beginners in a future video? Good stuff keep it coming.
