I'm 30 as of feb and just started riding, no one around to coach or get general help (TN) so you guys and youtube in general has been incredible for the simple passage of knowledge for those of us without much in-person support in that area. You have kept me from so many falls as a new rider it's unreal so thank you guys so much.
Dude, yeah MX Factory is beyond awesome for everything from the basics to some advanced stuff. Im 40. I live in mid TN. Riding for about a decade +/-. Hondas. 250f for the technical stuff. 450rx for faster less treacherous trails. Im just real curious how you dont have friends to ride with that could at least give you the basics? I cant seem to go anywhere around here without running into riders. Esp retired MX guys. Even moreso when i lived in Shelbyville! Where you doing the bulk of your riding at?
🙂 I'm glad im not the only older cat just getting into riding I started at 25/26 I'm 32 now took two years off after a wipe out on my 450r that was a 2month hospital stay 🤦 I had no business being on a 450 for my first bike love my 2019 kx250 way more comfortable on it great all around bike... I'm getting so much better I work for a big farm operation so I got plenty of area to practice... To any older people wanting to get into riding all I can really say is get that 450 out of your mind ASAP ! I paid the price wish id started on a 250 don't be afraid of something slightly smaller even 🤷
Thank you for the tutorial. I'm 58 and just started riding again after 40 years. YEA! LOL! Your videos are helping. I almost need a UA-cam feed inside my helmet. Keep them coming! T
Share this video! The population of the world needs to hear this! I've seen way too many bad riders out there, that make a lot of easy to fix mistakes. Cheers from Canada! 🇨🇦 🍁 🍻! We love you, and hope the best for you all!
These are great tips. I don’t race or get lap times or anything but doing this consistently when you go ride will make you feel much more comfortable and lessen fatigue. I ride out in the hills on some “natural” tracks, trails in the mountains, & occasionally go ride a few of the local mx tracks on practice days and have felt significant improvements. The best benefit is safety. When you get comfortable riding, you can go much faster in a much safer manner. Technique is everything. It’ll reduce arm pump and allow you to manipulate the bike and your body properly in general and especially when things inevitably do get sketchy. 🤙
I like to spray a little Wd-40 on my buddies' brake rotors while we're at the track to help them train riding with no brakes. It's good to have some surprise elements to riding sometimes to keep you on your toes!
Street bike rider recenlty venturing off road. I really like the last point about riding laps/sections at 60 to 100% and working on being faster but somoother as well. I utilize this all the time nice to see it explained! I will subscribe and watch more!
Thanks for the tip getting back in to bikes as a midge aged dude this is helping me brush up! It is also giving me the confidants to teach my 14 year old. Thanks for your time and dedication!
The Mx Factory skills videos are the best on UA-cam! I'm 26 and just getting in to riding and your videos have helped me learn the technique to ride my 2000 KTM 300 without dying [Thanks]! I can't wait to see more!! P.S. I know this is a horrible first bike lol.
I've been practicing tip #4 and now the track owner wants me to go clean the the trash up along the side of the track 🤣 Great video guys, we always like your content 👍
You guys have made me such a better rider! This is my first season on a bike...and first year racing (250c). I’ve gone from finishing 20th to top 10s. Thank you so much!!!
I have a few tips that might help some people out. Let me know what you think. The head forward leg high I tilt my foot/big toe in to the front fender as if I'm trying to hang my toes on the top of the fender. A excercise I do is skip rope holding a inflatable ball between your knees while skipping rope. I use a ball used for the game 4square. Surprisingly doing this it puts you in the attack position while skipping. It's easier to hold the ball with your knees. Just my two cents
This channel is awesome! All I know about mx comes from here. HUGE thanks to you guys! Now the only thing I wish I knew how to properly wash my gear. can you guys do a video about that? Tks a lot for everything! Greetings from Brazil
Tomorrow I'm planning to go to the local track and instead of rushing to the big track I think I'll spend the whole day practicing your drills.. I strongly believe that they are far more important (and fun) than riding without a clue among the other riders...
Helpful. It sounds like what you're saying is work on controlling the bike in non-conventional ways. I'm still building my chops, but the 400 I have seems hard to hold on to sometimes. I'm gonna try these because I feel like there is a lot of forces on my hands and wrists. For instance, I recently had a bad sprain from just trying to recover from a fishtail. Maybe some new bars, grips, and control lever adjustments will help.
As a powerlifter, im hoping drill 2 will be a little easier. Ive spent years keeping my back straight and core tight, so here’s to hoping it translates at least slightly
Can you do a tutorial on how to do the starting Gateshead races ? Like how to properly take off . I’ve been practicing on my bike but every time I try it my bike almost shut down
What's a good way to structure practice for the weekend warrior? I can ride basically only every Saturday and Sunday. If on a ride day I get say 6-8 motos, should 1 moto be dedicated to each of your different drills? (1 moto no clutch, 1 moto no brakes, 1 moto feet on pegs, 1 moto all standing, etc) and then a moto at end of day riding normal?
I called it the $100 bill drill. I had a rider have to keep a $100 bill between his knees and the bike for a full lap without losing it and get within a margin of his normal lap time in order to keep the $100
The no brake thing is good growing up i had a kx 250 with no back brakes and a Suzuki dr 500 no rear brake no 3rd gear but dropping from 5th wide open in a flat wide corner drop a little speed let clutch out bike will slide grab some gas and ride the drift on the limiter skip 3rd click one more 4th hold that rev and fether clutch like a 125 Haha no brake will teach u corner speed. GO TO Speedway and ask them how to slide a dirtbike .
I like to know breaking because even every second on a corner could win you a race I also like riding without my front fender so I can see my front tire all the time kept the back part of it on choped the front of it off.
You don’t want to know. After you’ve bought a bike you’re looking at helmet boots chest protector knee guards pants jersey goggles elbow guards and a neck brace. Price that out.
There's an old saying, half of what you paid for your bike, you're going to pay for gear... I'd say 2,000$ is what it would cost for everything that isn't the bike itself. This includes a fuel jug, ramp, stand, gear bag, gear, and maintenance tools to maintain your bike.
If I really thought about what we spend on MX plus all that goes with tracks and racing I’d never start except WHEN HE GOT HIS FIRST TROPHY....PRICELESS😥😥👌
I was chilling with my boy barcia the other day and he says you shouldn’t stick your leg out that high as you recommend, I called tomac and he confirmed.
Tell us what your favorite drill was below!!!!⬇️⬇️⬇️
Can you do a how to do sharp turns?
No breaks was my favorite
@@Kayden2valid That was a good one!!
@@TheMxFactory thank you, Can you do a dirt bike hack video again too?
My drill
Enduro and hard trails gave me the best overall bike control throttle control and clutch control

As a fellow instructor, I have to say you explained these quite well. Props man

Thanks for watching, let us know how they workout !
NOTHING better to teach corner speed than no brakes. For road racing we did 5th gear no brakes Thanks for the hard work boys

To slow down don't use your clutch,, but up shifts use it only racers power shift just to get that few seconds of speed to pass someone
The paper plate thing reminds me of my sisters Fanny race for horse riding
Exciting,,,,
Can u show me how to start off in a race because I have no idea
Do you clutch when you make a jump?
Can you make a video on the total cost for everything you need to start dirt bike riding

Well hopefully you don't vote for leftists. It's a start to hanging on to extra income
You can do those leg exercises when you're sitting at home watching TV on your chair just by lifting your legs strengthens the upper part of your leg
Hello 👋
Nice cool
cool nice
I'm back watching again
So im a vet rider and my whole life have been taught sit on the tank and leg high but never head forward. Does headforward change that much?
I was told to always have ur head forward
What kind of brand bike is this?? 😊
I was chilling with my boy barcia the other day and he says you shouldn’t stick your leg out that high as you recommend, I called tomac and he confirmed.
Never heard of her.
All of these were my favorite until I realized how sore I'm going to be after my next ride 😭
No brakes drill! I think this is how my bro got fast. His rotor always had fork oil all over it so he just didnt brake!
so you pretty much only sit when you accelerate when going out of corners or turn really sharp in corners but else you stand?
'
Why always need to put the leg out at the turn?
What is the function?
What if we do NOT put the leg out?
I am really curious WHY?
What how to hit a jump with no kicker
Anyone know wha tkind of bike that is?
Dislikes are the atv riders 😎
Agreed 😂
When ar you cuming to scotland and teach sum classes. 😀
