Thank you for a comprehensive explanation of the TPS. The symptoms you describe are exactly what I've been experiencing with a Subaru ej2.5 in a VW.

I think this is my issue because my truck only turns on when I tap the gas pedal a few times and it’ll stay on but it sounds funny like it wants to cut off and my truck shakes bad when I’m at a rest position in the truck and it’ll kinda jump a little when I hit the brakes or switching gears and sometimes the truck will turn off. Also I’ve noticed when I crank the ac all the way up the truck sounds a lot more stable and dosnt sound like it wants to cut off as much but when ever it’s off or on the lowest air setting it’ll sound weak and idles like it wants to cut off also I’ve replaced my control idle air control valve sensor and the MAP sensor and it still does the rough idle and turns off, could it be the throttle position sensor because I’ve never replaced it ?

Question for you. Is that for ever vehicle or would that be the case for a Detroit 60series engine ?

Do full electronic throttle body have TPS? Are they integrated in the throttle body?

I have a 1999 BMW 323i and need to replace TPS but I can't locate it. Could you please help with this. I'm a woman and I try to take care of my vehicles myself. I just can't locate this sensor.

Hello. The TPS is located on the throttle body. It is between the intake manifold and air filter inlet tube / air filter box.

I have a 03 Ducati Monster 800 and it jerks at 5-6k rpm and will not exceed 6k rpm, do you think it could be a faulty tps?

So why does my Ford truck run really good without a throttle position sensor connected??.. .

    • @natoshacasey8544

Is it possible that the tps sensor was the issue since the truck runs correctly now that it has been disconnected?

Help, civic 1.8 gen 8, when comming to a stop or a random shifting from any gear into neutral while driving makes my car stall.. lets say im driving 70kmh in 4th at 3000rpm, when i put it in neutral, cars rpm go down to almost 0 and car stalls. Or while lets say driving at 30kmh in 2nd and comming to a stop sign and shifting into neutral, car also stalls.. 🙄 🤔. Clean tb, valves adjusted properly, good coils, good sparks, working maf, relearn procedure done. Whats left is idk if i can test the tps and the o2 sensor and need to check for vacuum leaks but i highly doubt that. And the car also jolts/sputters in idle and while driving at around 3000rpm.. shakes randomly similar like a misfire

My check engine light blinks after about 30 mph. But my worse system is my transmission does not shift right. It acts like it's slipping from first to second. But when I hit the gas hard I can overcome it. Yes I do get surges in RPMs with loss of power!

Thank you for that very clear information. I have a question. For the scannning, does it necessarily have to appear on the dashboard or are there times there is no error codes present?

Very good video for overview of TPS. However, I have a question…how would I test my TPS functionality if the engine won’t start?

Please help; at WOT (KOEO) my tps sensor signal wire reads 2.15volts instead of 4.7-5volts.
Any guidlines to things I need to check ?
