I think Annette underestimates her abilities, her flowers are gorgeous. This is one of the best tutorials I have ever seen. She gives lots of details in a very clear and succinct way. She is a natural teacher. I'm excited to make flowers using her methods.
I definitely agree with you on all counts. I've had flower shaping tools for at least 15-20 years (from The Punch Bunch, if anyone remembers them). But the stars have never aligned for me to do anything with them, until now. After watching Annette's video, I actually found my tools, went through my dies and found 2-3 sets I could use. I ordered 2 dies and that soft cardstock from ECD; received them today, so I'm ready to go to town making my own flower garden! Thanks for your tutorial, Annette!
@@lindaedwards3377 Thank you so very much Linda for this comment. To know that I have inspired you and others enough to get out your dies, try some new ones, and give these techniques a go means everything to me. I sincerely hope you have fun with yours and come back to share how it went.
I would call this the MUST WATCH video for anyone wanting to make flowers. Wonderful variety and beautiful cards. I have several flower dies, but haven't felt inspired to make them until now. And I have some beautiful stamps of strawberries that will look much more lifelike thanks to your excellent tutorial! You are truly an artist! 😊 I had to subscribe!
Thank you so much for taking the time to show us your flower creating techniques...much appreciated! I've grown so accustomed to seeing your videos on the Graphic 45 site...nice to see you using other products in your work. There are many resources for ready made flowers, but I much prefer to make my own. I find that purchased flowers don't always match my project...my handmade flowers are always a perfect match. Thanks, also, for showing us that a single die set can be used to create several different types of flower petals. I like that I can make a variety of beautiful blooms...the differences lie in how I manipulate the fibers. BEAUTIFUL WORK, ANNETTE!! Loved seeing the finished projects. I definitely want to create some luscious, juicy strawberries! Well done!
Thank you Martie. That's another great reason to make your own flowers - you get to make them the color YOU want. Thanks for your comment! It really means a lot to me.

Hello, Annette, new friend here. Your video popped up in my suggestion selection. Thank you for sharing a most excellent tutorial on making realistic flowers! All so lovely - especially those sweet little rose buds. And I'm loving those water-spritzed blooms. Blessings & Bubbles...oooOOO
I like that you have all the tools to shape the flowers. But....many of us can't afford the tools. I make these flowers and I use my fingers to shape the flowers. It takes longer, but it still works. And the flowers and leaves are more delicate.
Hi Carol, sorry for the late response. A small teaspoon works very well also for the shaping and softening of the paper. Many items around the house also work well for some of the shaping techniques, like pencils, chopsticks, Q-tips, etc. And of course fingers are excellent tools!
Loved this video and will watch numerous times I’m sure. You have a lovely, easy to listen to voice, great pace and perfect for instructural/demo videos like this. The flowers you made are stunning!! Thanks so much for sharing.

Dear Annette I learnt a lot. Thanks so much for the inspiration and hard work. I also hv sm flower dies and I am going to try it to decorate my crafty space. Tc stay safe
Great tutorial - lots of helpful information, very clear instructions and no extraneous comments (for which I'm grateful, as many "how-to" videos are much longer than necessary because they're full of irrelevant side remarks). Please don't sell yourself short; you may not be an "expert" in your own eyes, but your results look lovely and you're definitely an inspiration for a beginner like me.
Thank you so much Betty. Such a kind and lovely comment. I love what I do and love to share, so it means so much to me that I can be of inspiration to others. I hope you've given this a try and are having fun with it. Thanks for watching.
Thank you! I sometimes DO wet them, but rarely. Only if the paper or cardstock is really thick, otherwise you'd end up with hard wrinkles rather than smooth shaping. I find it's just easier and eliminates the misting step by using a lighter weight paper.
Thanks Ann! Hmmm, not sure about that, but I have certainly seen creators make crepe paper flowers online and they are beautiful. You'll only know if you give it a try! Have fun experimenting.
Wow this video is wonderful! Your flowers and subsequent cards are beautful. I know I have some Eliz dies and have to get them out! Your step by step instructions are perfect. Thank you very much!

@@AnnetteGreen I tried to find some of the floral dies you used but they are out of stock everywhere!! That's okay I can use my older flower dies and strive to make flowers as lovely as yours. Thank you .
@@suzieq23ify They've been so popular they have sold out super fast, but they tell me they're getting more in soon, so watch for that. Also, if you have a local scrapbook store (which I know are few and far between) they may carry them. The larger stores usually do. Have fun crafting with what you have though. I'll be doing a Facebook Live with the older flower dies tomorrow (Friday, Feb. 19th) on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Facebook page, 2 p.m. EST. I'll be making succulents! Be sure to follow them if you're interested.
Thanks Kari. I hope you enjoy making your own. They are super fun once you get comfortable with the techniques. Sometimes it's hard to step away and go fix dinner, so consider yourself warned. LOL
How did you cut out the flowers and leaves? Was it with something like a Sizzix die cut machine? Thank you. This is fantastic. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, tips, and tricks. Your work is absolutely stunning!!!!
Thank you! I find that water isn't necessary, but perhaps if I were working with thicker card stock, then yes, I probably would. The "conditioning" of the paper with the large ball stylus first usually does a good job of softening up the paper fibers. Thus, no need for water.
Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it. I have been trying flowers off and on with no success. I think I can try and get it this time. I will let you know. Thanks again.

Amazing. You have taken flowers to a new level for me.
Wow, thank you! That's great to hear. I hope to do more flower-shaping projects and videos in 2024. Thanks for watching!
Love to start to make my own I love the way you make yours do you ever wet yours I've seen other videos that they mist it with water
Thank you! I sometimes DO wet them, but rarely. Only if the paper or cardstock is really thick, otherwise you'd end up with hard wrinkles rather than smooth shaping. I find it's just easier and eliminates the misting step by using a lighter weight paper.
Your flowers are fantastic Do you happen to know what it would the flowers would be like with crape paper ?
Thanks Ann! Hmmm, not sure about that, but I have certainly seen creators make crepe paper flowers online and they are beautiful. You'll only know if you give it a try! Have fun experimenting.
Wow, hopefully I can learn how to make flowers now, TFS this tutorial.
Of course you can, Bettye! I hope you give it a try. It's so rewarding and fun. Thank you.
Wow this video is wonderful! Your flowers and subsequent cards are beautful. I know I have some Eliz dies and have to get them out! Your step by step instructions are perfect. Thank you very much!
Thank you so much Susan! That means a lot. I'm so happy you found my instructions easy to follow. I hope you DO get out those dies and try them out. You're in for some serious fun!
Beautiful work
You’re an amazing talent! Such a wonderful inspiration. Thank you, God bless 🌸💕💞
Thanks so much Barbara!
I loved this video. The cards are just beautiful and you make it look so easy! Looking forward to trying these techniques. Thank you!
Hi Sorry for the late response. Yes, I used dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs and my Sizzix Vagabond 2 machine.
This is great. You inspired me to take out my flower tools and play!
Awesome! That makes me so happy. Thanks, and have fun creating!
Lovely flowers Annette! Do you ever mist the paper first with water before shaping?
Thank you! I find that water isn't necessary, but perhaps if I were working with thicker card stock, then yes, I probably would. The "conditioning" of the paper with the large ball stylus first usually does a good job of softening up the paper fibers. Thus, no need for water.
you are very talented, I enjoyed you video, the flowers are beautiful and I love the strawberry's
Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it. I have been trying flowers off and on with no success. I think I can try and get it this time. I will let you know. Thanks again.
Thanks, I hope you DO give it another go and definitely come back and let me know how it goes. Most importantly, have fun!
They look so real! Amazing! Can we use watercolour instead of distress oxide?
Thanks so much! I believe you could really color them with whatever media you prefer and they would turn out lovely.
@@AnnetteGreen thanks
These are beautiiful. I love them.
How did you get the seed Mark's on the strawberries ? I didnt see how you did that .
Thank you June. The die actually makes a little indentation of each little seed. Isn't that great? Then I just colored them in. Thanks for watching.
Absolutely stunning thank you so much for sharing
Thanks so much Caroline! I'm so happy you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for sharing. Lots of information and technique. Thanks again.
Thank YOU. I'm glad you found it informative. Thanks for watching.
