Personally, I think it’s a good idea, but it depends on the amount and the person receiving it
If the kid is immature enough, he will be more responsible and
      spare some for later
As a person receiving money every week I think it has been the best thing because I can buy little things that can change a person day ❤

Okay, but hear me out,, this, except they're actually switching lives with someone in a totally different tax bracket, so then the other person gets to live their type of life (and presumably, hopefully, it ends up with the rich kid seeing how thankful they should be for what they have and would wanna hopefully then use their wealth to improve the world and other people's lives who are not in as lucky a standing as them,, and it's impactful for the kid who switched too to be put in this other situation so far out of their own experiences too,, tbh, I feel like they'd also probably wanna share the wealth while they have the ability, but may also see how even with material needs met, that isn't all there is to it either,,, I feel like it being reciprocal and both kids getting a taste of the others' life and seeing how the other kid reacted to theirs would help for building empathy or whatever)

They could help a GoFundMe reach its goal without any significant losses, hell, think of all those they could help with little to no ramification. Refugees, people with medical debt, abused animals. Whose fault is it? The parents. 100%.
My classmates and friends growing up were VERY wealthy. Lots of old money but most were not entitled and detached like what you see on tiktok. Granted, old money and new money does make a difference in family attitudes but that said, I grew up watching my friends’ parents and my own parents snip bratty behavior at the bud. Some of the wealthiest people I know personally are very kind and down to earth and aware of their privilege. It’s not hard for parents to make their kids aware of their privilege and explain to them how there is so much poverty out there. It’s not hard to not spoil kids rotten.
In the same way though, many many are completely delusional. It all comes down to parenting.

Hahahah if those kids had to work for that money they wouldn't be puffed up. My parents are middle class, and they always raised me and my siblings with a "you want that toy, you have to earn your own money to buy it" mentality (which has led me to appriacte money since a young age). And now as a teen, I have my own part time job (because I'm still in school, if not I'd have a full time job lol) and am starting to save up to go to secondary education or get a car(probably a used Toyota). My parents never gave me money if I didn't work for it, and I'm all the better for that.

      You had a good upbringing.
I have earned money from my family since childhood, but I always saved it and then started investing. I never felt like this money was really mine, so whenever I spent it I spent it very carefully, on durable things that I would use a lot or were very necessary.
Today I'm an architect, I work, but they still give me money and the accumulated money remains invested there. From an early age I think about accumulating resources, investments, assets, to retire in the future.
I think that if the person is well educated (which these children clearly weren't), even if they have access to money they will have common sense, they won't be an empty pot like these tiktokers

I’m 27 and was raised during the recession. I was raised very similarly. If there was something that I really wanted and my parents approved of it, we’d bargain for it to be a reward for something big. I remember wanting Animal Crossing Wild World for my ds lite and that was a reward for finishing 6th grade with all As. By way of a college fund, my mom bought a savings bond each year from my birth for me to cash when I got into college.

    • @wifflewaffle5006
      @wifflewaffle5006 4 дні тому +1

I agree and disagree, on one hand I do think it’s good and very logical to teach kids the importance of money and that you need to be aware of how much you have and whether it’s reasonable to spend it on this thing or maybe save it up for something better that they may want
You know, I get that, I really do
But I also believe in kids being kids? I don’t believe kids should ALWAYS being doing chores or pushing themselves into a breakdown trying to keep their grades up in school just for the slim promise they may get what they want
      For teens? Definitely
For kids? Eeehhhhh, it depends on the level of chores or expectations ur putting on them to earn their buck
Small chores yes, but if you’re having ur 8 year old scrubbing all ur walls and floors over a dollar store toy then I’m pretty sure that’s just child labour and I don’t agree with that
I also don’t agree with parents who make these terms just to make it easier to pawn chores onto their kids
I resented my mom for the fact that it seemed like since I could walk and move I was forced to do chores that she just didn’t want to do, and lmao I wasn’t even paid or given toys for it, just chores 😭

I really hope you mean college as a secondary education not actual SECONDARY SCHOOL.
I kinda disagree with your parents parenting, kids shouldn't have to be working a job or jobs just to be able to go to school.(I think they should be working jobs to learn responsibility and the value of money) They should be living like kids doing dumb things and hanging out with friends.
It really should be the parents job to secure a future for their children. Not the kids themselves. Don't have kids if you can't afford them.

Intentions can open up a window onto the person as they question why they're intentions are so. What I find most interesting is that some people have no explanation as to why they're intentions are so besides popular beliefs and that shows just how much society and societal beliefs influence everyone in some way.

And also I think that being super rich is a curse because then you wont learn things by your own and nothing feels special anymore when you can get EVERYTHING you want. Also gettin everything you want isnt good for mental health and often super rich people lose them selves to the money.
If you are just rich I think its not a curse because then you can have lot of nice stuff and many vacations and other things like that, But there is still SOME limit. And that taughts the Person to respect money and learn about it.

Lower class won’t care what it looks like, they’re just happy to have food. Middle class only cares about how it tastes. And upper class wants it to look good or else, they probably won’t eat it. For me, I don’t care if it looks pretty, it’s just more fun like that, but I always say “as long as it tastes good” while my friend down the street mostly cares about how it tastes but still wants it to look nice.
