Fresh from the oven!! Nothing like homemade. So how did it all go? Spill all your Easter bun making tea and should you post of social pls tag us @kerriannnskravings. I really appreciate you re-creating one of my recipe 🤸🏾♀️💕
It turned out beautifully ...I woke up to half a bun🤭 my husband got up and went straight to eating it..it is really tasty thank you .... I wanna make two more but I am not sure how to adjust the measurements because I want to do just one prepping for both🤷♀️ help a sista out @Kerri-Ann's Kravings
I laughed out so loud just now. Lol I’m glad you and the hubs loved it. That brings me joy. To make 2-just double the ingredients across the board. Let me know if you have anymore questions. One love 💕
Hey Bobbette, thank you for your interest in my Jamaican Easter Bun recipe. You can find the detailed recipe with measurements and instructions here: kerriannskravings.com/jamaican-easter-bun/ To make 3 buns, you can simply use the scaling feature in the recipe card to increase the quantity. To do this, find the "Servings" section in the recipe card and adjust the number accordingly. This will automatically update the ingredient measurements for you to make the desired number of buns. I hope this helps! If you have any further questions or need clarification, please don't hesitate to ask. Happy baking! xx
MzJamaica Mee Hey love, the molasses provides another layer of flavor but you can omit if not available. No big deal. Re: the wine You can use any port wine or sweet wine. No wine...no problem. Just soak the raisins and mix peels in water. No need to soak the cherries. Hope this helps. Happy baking xx
That looks amazing, thank you for sharing. Please tell me what alternatives can I use for a vegan version , with no eggs and no butter - I would like o make it tomorrow. I look forward to hearing from you.
Hey love, I honestly haven't tested a vegan version (I will for next year) so I'm not comfortable recommending substitutions I have not tested. However; I will provide some recommendations from 2 trusted sources that I believe will be helpful: 1. amazingackee.com/jamaican-easter-bun/ I love Amazing Ackee. She's tested a few substitutions (and detailed her experience with each ingredient) in her Vegan Easter Bun. Check it out. 2. gracefoods.com/recipe-a-z/recipe/1575-homemade-easter-bun Grace foods have been around for ages and they have a few Easter Bun recipes with a few listing the egg as "optional". There are a few vegan recipes on UA-cam as well. Check the comments for feedback from ppl who have tried and commented on the outcome. Hope this helps and happy baking!!! One love xx
1 egg is equivalent to 1/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce. In my opinion, I think applesauce is the best alternative. I have been making vegan friendly buns this way since last year. Give it a try.
Merry Christmas! I made this yesterday and it turned out beautifully. I’m making another one tomorrow to send Next Day Air to my parents. Just have a couple questions: my cherries had sunken to the bottom byte time it was done, would you recommend putting them on straight out of the oven? Also, does the rose water really add flavor? I didn’t have any so I used water infused with hibiscus flowers, but at half a tablespoon I wondered if it made a difference.
Merry Christmas Michelle, I’m so glad you loved the recipe. The whole cherries are heavy and will sink. Cut them in half or quarters and then place them too side up on the top of the batter. That’s should keep them visible on top. I’ve never added them after. I like them baked on the cake or in the cake. You can omit the rose water if you don’t have it. Hibiscus is more on the tart side… diff flavor profile. Rose water is is more fruity and delicate. Hope this helps. I will be upgrading the recipe this Easter…so be on the look out for that. Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy baking Michelle. 💓
@@KerriAnnsKravings I sent the bun Next Day Air to my parents ($105!!) and it was a hit. They are looking forward to the Easter Bun so I've already gotten the rose water and the correct 12" pan. I'm excited for your update, I'll be keeping an eye out! 😍 (PS I mentioned to my mom that I was going to get a "better" port wine next time to soak the fruits. She said, no no no! In Jamaica we used to take a jug to the market for red wine and it was not "better!" 🤣😂)
@@michelleocasio4542 day made. I’m so glad it all worked out and your parents enjoyed it too. Shipping price is insane tho…yikes! Lol at taking a jug to the market. Hey Tenisha, it was baked at 320 ° for an hour. Start checking for doneness at 45 minutes. (It’s all in the video) Please calibrate your oven before baking for best results.(see video description on how to) Are your referring to the wooden utensils or copper? I added both to the recipe notes in the video description. Let me know if you have anymore questions. One love 💕
Hey love, thanks for the lovely feedback and I am sooooo HAPPY you're loving the bun. You could have temper the eggs with the warm liquid but I only needed it to give my bun structure so I added it later than sooner. Hope that helps. One love xx
Hey lovely, red label wine or any port wine. You can also use fruit juice . The recipe is in the video description. Let me know if you have anymore question. 💓
You’re most welcome darling. Cranberry juice might be too tart. Think sweet. Fruit punch, berry punch even grape. You can also leave it out and soak them in water to soften them especially if your using the dark raisins. They tend to be a bit dryer and chewier than the golden (yellow) raisins. Hope this helps. xx
acuario1010 Hey love? GREAT question. Coke and stout have 2 different flavor profiles. One’s soda thats loaded with sugar & flavoring and the other a beer with more complex and delis flavor. If you have everything else-exclude the stout. Next time you can experiment with the stout and see which version you like more. Either way it will be delis. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have anymore questions. Happy baking. xx
@@KerriAnnsKravings awesome!! Many thanks for answering :) just one last question, I'll exclude stout, therefore, I will replace it with liquid molasses around 280ml. Since I need to add more liquid (but no water).
Hey Love, are you saying you experience extensive cracking? Some cracking is normal. If so, it could be a few things: oven temp too high, opening and closing the oven door during baking to name a few. You can try adding a water bath in the oven to add moisture and maintain an even temp on the bun. I'm so sorry if this has been your experience, however, cracking shouldn't affect the taste. Hope this helps. Happy cooking! xx
