I actually think Jack wears the masks of the Knight and Queen not for sentimental reasons or as a backup as some have theorised, but to prevent them from interfering with his plans in the mortal plane, assuming they have no means to manifest themselves except with their own masks. While they have a mutual interest in ensuring the Court’s domination over the mortals, I think it very unlikely that these three multi-dimensional, godlike beings would get along and would certainly vie for power over one another whenever the need arose, so Jack isn’t trying to secure the sword to bring them to Albion but to ensure that no one can interfere with his fiefdom and if he had obtained the SOA, I think he would have returned to the Void only to make sure all his possible rivals and adversaries there knew that he was the God-King of Albion and the most powerful of them, and make sure that none of them would stand in his way again.
Wow this is a really well thought out. To believe the mask has a greater purpose is more enjoyable than to think he holds onto the mask for no real, practical reasoning.
Did Jack’s mask return to the Void after his initial defeat? I thought the implication was that it remained it the world until another nameless hero hungry for power put it on, allowing Jack to pursue the SOA in the first game’s story, which is also why Scythe was so insistent that we destroy it after his second defeat because he remembers what happens the last time he let the mask survive and he is determined to not make that mistake again and ensure Jack dies forever.
Just wanted to say thank you for the lore and theory videos. I love the theories you create and how similar they are to plans I have in place for my fable based D&D game I will be starting tonight. I listen to your fable playlist to get the imagination going, your videos have greatly helped me in creating the world of fable come to life for my players. THANKS!
Also I love your channel dude. Fable is one of my favorite games of all time (excluding 3 which needed to get out of a tutorial phase and also let me cast magic without a glove.)
Fable Journey, single player. There was a turn based card game that was online. Fable Heros is a board game on the 360/ps3 that was a co-op game, so invite a friend or 3. Then there is a Fable game but its only pub games from across all 3 games. There might be one more I'm forgetting but I know they tried to release a game that was set around the Old Kingdom time period, unfortunately it got canceled however there were rumors that it was going to be an online mmo rpg. They even made a trailer for, it might be hard to find.
dude dont be a petty bitter bitch "I dont like fable 3 ehh I don't like it" 😂 go in the options and take the tutorials off!!? also saying I like fable most ppl wound ask you.
Honestly....i dont think it would have mattered either way. Hear me out, in the ancient time when the court ruled. They were cruel, malicious. But understatedly. Bored. When William was first sucked into the void. Jack was just chilling there. Jack wasnt like, waiting for William. He didnt know he was gonna show up. He was just bored. The whole meaning of Jacks life since the moment he met Will. Was getting his power back, getting back the sword of Aeons. Possessing heroes, building power, corrupting people. It was all just a means to an end. He was amused. He had a purpose. There were things to do. Now, when he lost to the hero of oakvale. He had a new purpose (TLC) But if he actually won. I think he'd have soon grown bored again. And theres a good 50/50 shot he would have either destroyed everything. Seeking some fleeting thrill. Or he'd have started to orchestrate events to give himself another challenge. Time doesnt matter to Jack, hes immortal. And as long as he isnt fully destroyed. Jack has nothing to fear. The other members of the court wanted domination, Worship, control. Power. Jack didnt, he didnt have worshipers. Or an army, he was just chilling in the void, because none of it amused him. Jack is definitely evil. But he's a more ammoral evil. Not a strictly immoral one. He's cruel. Hes really cruel. But all the acts we see him do. As cruel as they are. They're never pointless. Theres always a point or purpose to his cruelty. He didn't slaughter Oakvale in the beginning of fable 1 just to be a dick. It was to capture Williams descendants. He didn't lock them up in prison for years just for the sake of it. He didn't sacrifice the mothers soul to the sword of aeons purely for the sake of cruelty. He didnt care it was cruel. But that wasnt the purpose. Its not outside the realm of possibilities that had Jack won. As utterly and entirely as possible. He'd have found a way to intentionally screw it up eventually.
Hell, for all we know. Jack is a pretty typical trickster archetype. Maybe he intentionally "lost" the sword to William the first time around on purpose. Pretty convenient for him that this barely trained Will user, blacksmith. Popped into existence in the void Infront of him. Couldn't defeat him, couldn't possibly match him. Yet managed to steal his sword on the way out? Use Jacks power to kill the other members of the court and grow strong enough to be a real challenge to Jack. Then go on to make an amazingly complex world with Heroes and magic and curses and monsters for Jack to someday explore and roam and seek out his sword again.
I loved Jack's original voice before TLC and A. The Weasel-y high pitched voice. I think it suited him better than the demonic growl they changed it to.
Would be a heck of a twist if Jack returned in Fable. Either being in control of albion from the start or defeating the player at the end of the game and regain his sword
Oh damn brother I never even considered A video like this when we were talking about new content you could produce over the last couple months.... Alternate history fable lore... Now that is an interesting idea... Have an actually watched the video yet but looking forward to it thanks again sir for a top quality video on one of my personal favorite game of all time.... I really hope you can stretch this format And get at least a few videos out in the same vein.. Good luck my dude... And once again you have earned yourself a thumbs up and a comment from your your biggest fan that's too broke to join your patron lol
I think with this format, I need to look at interesting areas to explore. As I feel pretty confident with my knowledge of the universe, I hope that I can do videos justice with estimating how events would play out. I really appreciate the support!
Would you ever do a video on the older weapons as a general over view? Like the murren weapons, ronok, wellows pick hammer, etc? And put some speculation on the regions they may have been in?
Jack would still have avos tear on second scenario which one of the most powerful weapons of the series in lore and it would could aswell be that jack would do which he did before fable ones story bidding his time planning and trying to gain more power.
In the evil timeline I made, I killed my sister for the Sword of Aeons then killed Dragon Jack with it and put his mask on while wearing Archon's battle armor. So I gave him the weapon he wanted for so long, the strongest body possible to wield it with, and his old Nemesis's strongest armor to protect it all. Oh and Skorm's Bow and a bunch of other weapons and trinkets he wouldn't really care about
There is one more alternativ, if the player would take the sword and the mask. Then jack would have both the body of one of the strongest heros to ever live and the sword, might not make a difference but it would be pretty cool to imagine.
If the masks are still around be a good way bringing that to fable 4 imagine fighting the knight and then somehow the queen comes back she was the strongest one and having a war for albion to who wins villains or hero's be pretty cool
Love the alternative timeline style videos thou something I could not help to notice is that there was no mention of avo's tear in the second scenario where the hero put on Jack's mask, since the hero in Canon did retrieve Avo's tear after destroying SoA and them supposedly being on about the same power level how would that effect the story and could jack possibly corrupt it in some way or wield it instead after possessing the HoO, just som small thoughts, just discovered your channel and so happy to se fable lore videos
Anyone else think they should bring Fable 2 back online? Also with the DLC and secret items that you can only get through the online store or not store but the online website
How come reaver didn't age or sorry in my opinion got younger and thinner from Fable two to three? Once I saw him in Fable 3 I was like who the hell is that guy that's not reaver was fat and didn't look like he put makeup on he looks creepy
So how have curiosity did they ever explain where the portal you threw the sword into actually went? Based on everything we know so far, wouldn't It make sense that it was the void? So now the darkness has the sword?
What if in Fable 2 Lucian didn't lose his family and still brought you in to find heroes like they were ill and they were looking for a particular hero or someone with those particular jeans to I don't know like used to heal and your sister so happened to have the proper DNA so they sucked out the magic and all that from her to be able to heal them or some kind of like Resurrection instead of shooting them out the window like technology based like dwemer from Skyrim I'm just saying it would be like some weird things that could happen that kind of story
I also guess I never realized that the Jack we saw wasn't his original body and was a possessed hero's body. I guess I always assumed he was able to regenerate his body within the void. Now that raises the question; what hero did he take over?
Even if the hero put on the mask he still has a sword the is as powerful as the sword of areones Even in the good outcome avols tear the good version of the sword wich is cannon you get it and the hero is still more powerful than all the hero except scythe
Jack the HoO (Hero of Oakvale) faces. Is that JoB (Jack of Blades) the entity himself? Or did he possess a hero (Made him wear the mask)? Either way it's still JoB as he transfers all of himself and completely takes over the body. But say it is a Hero that wore the mask. Would that Hero be erased from history? If HoO wore the mask and JoB "won". Would the history books change and erase HoO from history?
