I did something similar with my tank except I was installing a return bung to do a return style fuel system and I used the nut and nylon washers on each side of mine and it worked out really well. If I could trust my soldiering I would have much rather done that. What is the trick to getting it to bond . Do u gotta get the metal red hot or close to it ?
The truth is in using the Tinning Flux alot but only limited heat.. To hot 🔥 will ruin everything including the brass fitting.... warping will happen with to much heat ... anyway good luck! Try a few practice runs on metal you don't care about till you get the hang of it...

I'd just be concerned with the strength of the joint and if the solder would be easily cracked
So far over the years it's been 100% success... but there's always that chance of failure.... hopefully it'll be fine 🙂
