What a fish to finish on!! Back water snook and tarpon fishing is what I grew up on and I’m loving the content!! People gotta to respect that grind it takes to catch these monster snook!
When i first moved to Florida i lived right on the river in Jensen like three doors from Snook Nook. Had always seen guys on TV fishing flats skiffs or Bay Boats and mugging Snook!! It will be easy for me!! Uuuuumm nope!!! It took a couple years to even begin to figure that place out. Big Snook and Big Jacks didnt get big being stupid. Great stuff man you have that place dialed
You couldn’t have said it better, they’re smart and you have to know your windows. Whether it’s live bait, artificial, the window is what’s most important.
@evading240 hell yeah place was busy AF after Frances and Jean!!! I think I ate there for like 14 days straight Henry's grumpy ass 🤣🤣 forever mad about something! That's back when the Lady Stuart was parked at the marina a couple blocks south
@AbenzFishing yeah I remember looking at nice fish stacked under that first little bridge on Jensen Causeway and throwing at them for two hours and suddenly wham!! Catch one on five straight casts and just as quick they shut down again. When they are neutral you have to downsize and slow way down and even then it's not a guarantee. It took me a couple years to really figure them, The Tarpon and the big Jacks out.
Always great content! I really like that you are showing real fishing- telling the countless hours of grinding it out with few or no bites to finally ( or sometimes not) getting the one your after. Excellent work!
I’ve caught massive snook this winter. From shore, at night, in the IRL. All on BIG plugs you only see guys on Long Island using for striped bass. In fact, I don’t bother fishing anything smaller than 6”.
Im halfway through this video and i have to go to work, but i just wanted to come here and say nice freaking casts my dude! Some people underestimate the power in throwing the bait directly ontop of the fish's head enticing a strike, especially during these months when they are more lathargic. The grind is real during the winter
What a fantastic video Aaron. I appreciate that you show the struggle. It doesn’t seem to happen to you very often at all. It really works on thought processes. I start second guessing everything I’m doing. That last fish was thick! I hope you and the family have a healthy and prosperous new year. Stay safe out there brother!
Dood you should be over 30-40 thousand subs ,,keep up the grind, you must have 50 pics of 40 inch snook and jacks ..been a sub for over a year,,Brian from Broward👍
Beast mode brother , I’m watching from dam near Canada an have family I visit down there every year would love to maybe 1 time meet up , that’s scary about the cold down there but awsome awsome snook man
I have heard many great things about the garmin kraken, I just ordered the 90 inch for my contender, with the live scope. Let me know if you ever want to go fish offshore
Dude so far so good. The ONLY complaint I have is the remote sensitivity. So if you want a really subtle turn it can be laggy. Otherwise better than min Kota in every way
I'm pretty stoked that it will integrate with my garmin chart plotter. Off shore we are more into holding power and spot lock, but I'm picturing cruising down weedines looking for dolphin to pitch to for sure
Awesome fish. I just landed a 48inch and 57.5lb snook in mexico!!! Craziest fight in my life and definitely the hit of the marina that day. Waiting for final measurements from Gray Taxidermy for my submission. Great Video!!!
@AbenzFishing love Shimano... used em all my life. The youtube photo you see of me and a 36+ striper, on a Stella 14K with a Ocea Flex Drive Rod. Absolute butter! C u on the next 1
Back in 2005 I caught a snook off the beach in Ft.Pierce in July that measured 53 inches, probably weighed 50 pounds, and for your viewers, take a trip to Juno beach pier in Jupiter Florida in mid spring, you will see literally hundreds of snook and tarpon in the crystal clear water. I was not fishing that day, just took a walk on the pier, but I am not exaggerating when I say that there were snook over 6 feet long just facing into the current in about 4 to 12 feet of water, they would not take anything, you could bounce a live bait off their heads and they wouldn't flinch, all I had was a crumby flip phone with me so the pics were terrible, but if you are in that area, you can see how massive these fish can get.
gentlemen...a us note is 6 inches...learned that frm the Marine Corps..so next time jus measure your fish with paper money .....lolll thank me later....lovely vid...thanks for sharing
Have you ever used a 6in Megabass Magdraft freestyle swimbait ? I use it to catch big Snook in the 32 & 38in during winter down here in the Port of Brownsville Tx. Ive yet to catch a 40in. I also use a Jackall Dowzswimmer 180sf with awsome results. My gear of choice is a Shimano Calcutta 200hg spooled with 40lb braid with an FG knot on 40lb Pline CFX FC leader and my rod is a 7ft6 Mh Shimano Zodias.
My Saltist MQ handle snapped in half when I was reeling in a 32” snook. Not sure they are worth the high price. Daiwa rep acted like I must have done something to it but it was less than a year old and well taken care of. Disappointing.
I grew up on Sanibel, I went to Sanibel school k-8 and I fished there basically 2/3 or my life. I think summertime fishing is deceiving - there a higher quantity of bigger fish, but the biggest for me personally have always come during winter. I’m talking 44”-46” maxed out fish. I catch WAY more 40”-43” fish over summer during spawn.
Nice I was born n raised here in Swfl as well but Nothing is deceiving the Summertime fishing is 🔥 the waters hot n As u said in your previous video biggest snook on UA-cam it’s about preparations + luck learning habits n feeding patterns tides!! My pb 44” no pinch!! I will say 2 nights ago I had a heartbreak 60lb braid 80lb floro 7 circle hook 10” live mullet crushed with a 5 min fight that broke off at my feet and I watched a pb monster Snook swim away I’m guessing at least 10”12” tall
@@Swflinshorefishing those losses are heart breaking but they keep me coming back. The west coast has giants, it’s just more vast and can be tricker to find them in numbers
100% agree, over the summer you catch a whole lot of overs, but in the winter when they are cold and lazy is when you catch the true massive fish.
It’s always fun getting out fished by you brotha. The inshore goat and snook king💪
My man!!!

Aaron you are a Snook and Jack master! All fisherman should take your advice when it comes to this style of fishing
Thanks so much 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Had a 20 pounder in downtown fort Pierce the other night
The absolute best part of hunting/fishing. A week of being a zero can turn into a hero in just a few seconds.
I always say the best part of fishing is it only takes one fish

There’s been some bigs around me as well, I always get my biggest snook in waters between 65-70 degrees

Going to look into the garmin trolling motor... some sweet takes in the video! 👍
Thanks man - so far super happy with it.
I just recently fishing for snook and have been going around in canals and i have been having amazing luck, even as a beginner!

Anytime the day is going shit, you usually get rewarded with the nicest fish
Congratulations on that big snook, i1ve never seen one that big in my lifetime.
Thank you - it was a true giant
It's has been a mild winter here on the Space Coast of FL. Best time for us to catch a BIG Snook is early Summer or late Fall.
You guys are getting more and more big snook. Love to see it!
you got yourself another subscriber, brother. great fishing!

Awesome content, keep doing that and you will go to the moon 🚀
Thank you man
Love the content!! What would you say is the best small boat for the IRL? something for 2 people. And what do you run? cheers!
I run a mako 18lts but really anything that’s reliable and floats man. The mako 15 skiff is great.
The amount of huge fish me and my freind have seen and caught in jensen beach is crazy 🤫
Woooooo love the videos brotha!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks man 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
LET'S GOOOOO!!!!
My man!!
Killer video, what a fish!!!
Thank you for watching!

That is great stuff!
Thank you!
Love the stuart area, im in psl. Would love to connect with yall soon! I just got a 22 adventure tidewater. Trying to feel out the river.
So close to 10k 🎉🎉🎉

There are some true giants out there that have never been caught for sure
You finding the mullet in deeper water? I have a time finding them this time of year.
They are super hard to find right now, they’re sitting super deep and unless you can read Sides scan really well, it’s next to impossible.
gentlemen...a us note is 6 inches...learned that frm the Marine Corps..so next time jus measure your fish with paper money .....lolll thank me later....lovely vid...thanks for sharing
What baitcasting rod do you use for your big baitcasters
I have a few customs. The same “Florida GT” blank I caught all the fish on in this video is what I use. I have a casting version
Awesome video!!
Incredible video. Are you south of Vero?
Yes
Is this on the Port Saint Lucie river?

I have, they work, swimbaits/glide baits produce big bites - Thanks for watching

That sucks dude. Sorry that happened!
🔥🔥🔥
what braid is that blue?
Where are you getting those mullet??
It’s not easy man - they’re scattered. Side scan is the only way
How long will you sit in a spot without getting a bite until you move to the next spot?
Depends on a lot of factors, tide, water temp, side scan and marks
Where are you getting your live mullet?
Where would you recommend shore fishing from to catch snook near Tampa? I only have until Friday and it’s my bucket list fish.
Dude unfortunately I’m not familiar with that area but I’d try any bridges with current. Every bridge in Florida tends to hold snook.
@@AbenzFishing thanks for the reply I’ll see what I can find. Happy fishing mate!
I know that part of that waterway like the back of my hand. And there are plenty of big snook.
The secret is the live mullet
I must suck I’m fishing canals off the Indian river and can’t catch a single snook lol
lol you don’t suck, snook are super particular
I need to go with yall
What water is this and city? Great video
I Havnt even caught a snook yet I’ve used so many
Ive wanted to catch a snook so bad for so long. Im in st augustine.
I disagree Summertime Snook fishing in SwFL produces big Broomtails 40++ on ladyfish
