- THE TRUTH ABOUT UA-cam FISHING //
On this episode of Abenz Fishing I had to WORK for a quality fish. the truth about UA-cam fishing is that often times what you're seeing is a highlight reel and the reality is that we have to GRIND for these videos and to produce a bite. Sometimes the snook fishing is awful, sometimes it is great. Sometimes the inshore fishing in general is awful and sometimes its great. The only real way to catch is persistence and time on the water.

Well snook vs. mangrove snapper? Give me the rod bender, drag screamer anytime. Your persistence and local knowledge is commendable. You know your business.
Thanks for always tuning in!
I am so glad you told the truth and called it like it is. Fishing has been very tough lately. I have been out a couple of times and nothing. Winter fishing is tough.
This winter in particular has been extra tough
“If you think your bait is too big, go bigger”. Ha ha. Love it.
I LOVE this video, Abenz. As a newbie in the fishing world looking to get my YT channel going, I completely relate. I hadn’t realized how tough this winter has been for us and it has definitely put a damper on my morale. But I’m staying positive and hoping this spring and summer will turn things around.
It’s definitely a grind, most people think it’s easy. With that said, typically, when winters are hard, the fish come to life for spring and summer.
That's how u do it! the highs and lows of fishing are just the reality. it's good to see the grind! Your persistence paid off! it's inspiring to see you call it and then manifest itself into a reality! great way to end it!! Tight lines bro!!
Thanks bro! Def a grind sometimes
I hit that LIKE button for you to help out with that algorithm. I understand everything you’re saying about the difficulty of being a UA-cam fisherman. I live in NW Florida and it definitely isn’t easy, especially in the colder months! But when it all works out and actually get a good video or a stud catch after putting in so much work, I too have said “If that doesn’t make you subscribe idk what will!” Haha good job bro! Good job!
Thank you bro I appreciate it! You know how it is, the grind seems so easy, but it’s rarely that 🙏🏻
Love this video concept, great job dude!
Thanks bro - we gotta link up soon!
I just started making my own videos and finding this is a real inspiration bro great video I subscribed no way you can't with someone showing reality fishing and still gets the river monster
Thanks for the feedback, I was happy with the way this video turned out. There has been times where it literally takes me two weeks straight to make a good video. I plan on documenting more of this as I continue to grow.
That’s how you finish a video Aaron. It’s always about the pursuit , putting a game plan together and seeing if the culmination of the process will produce. Aaron shoots… he scores!
Well done sir! Stay safe out there brother.
Exactly - thanks for always tuning in man!
Glad to hear that big mullet will catch fish as sometimes I worry I fish with ones too big. I’m a 60-year-old woman who just started fishing two years ago and absolutely love it! I stole my saying from some other sport but it’s “go big or go home.” Unfortunately, lots of times my big catch is a hardhead or a ladyfish. 😂
You definitely gotta get through the trash fish to get to the treasure. Bigger bait tend to get bigger fish and weed out smaller ones - tight lines!
A never ending grind! But I wouldn’t trade that for anything.
Following weather, pressure, tides/moon..
And then implementing that info and intuition to the water to figure it out,
Is what makes it so special.
And like you said .. all it ever takes is one fish to satiate that hunger for that trip and effort
Is that the psychedelic X or Z and I have the 301 tranx .. it’s such a wench lol
Tight lines
Well done
Exactly man - patience is a virtue as well - it’s the x and I love it
Fire video as always
Good video. Thank you.👍👍👍
Thanks for watching!
As a small UA-camr I feel this. So much footage doesn't even get used.
For real man
Better weather coming🤙
Yessir! Should make for an epic spring bite
4:17 had me dying, great video man
Thanks for watching!
I forgot to mention that it's really good to see you use cheap fish grabbers. losing those will only cost you about 15 bucks versus the BOGA!!
Haha yes - these are proto types from rite angler and so far so good!
I will suggest you to not only focus on salt water fishing you can also do some fresh water fishing 🎣
All about show em what it’s really like out there
we usually learn more when we are not getting on fish. it makes you put your thinking cap on, gets you out of our comfort zone, and throwing different plugs and walking or taking your boat or car to places you have never been. what size and make of hook are you using for big live mullet?
Dude well said and I use the rite angler mutsu 6/0 hook. The heavy duty one
when the bait comes off on a cast like that I call it live chumming brother.
Haha true that
Did you have any issue turning on the live well when you first bought it? We have the same model 2024 and can’t figure out how to get the livewell working 🤷🏽♀️ lol I don’t know if ours is broken or there’s a trick to it lol😅
I have nothing but good things to say about the boat except for the Livewell. Mako boats have had notoriously bad live wells because of the intake. You want to turn it on while you are running. Mine always turns on no matter what if I’m running, occasionally, it will get air locked and shut off, or occasionally it won’t turn on while I’m stationary.
Great video had a revelation you seem to target bigger fish was out fishing an older guy was showing me giant flounder he was catching on huge mullet and was wondering have you had any encounters with them or targeted them in the river ?
No but that’s wild! Big flounder on mullet? Nuts!
Stuart!!
Love the video dude. Question what camera chest mount do you use? An I see that you tend to push the record button again after it’s been recorded?
It’s a GoPro, hero, 10, and what you are hearing is a feature called hindsight. Basically it is constantly recording, and when I hit that button, I catch 15 seconds before I ever hit it.
Awesome thanks I’ll give it a try I just started doing videos cause of you and man dude love the snook , and jack action ! Keep up the good work dude!
@@ReelBayFishing that’s awesome to hear. Good luck! Make videos you’d enjoy watching 🙏🏻
Hey Aaron what size circle are you running for those size baits
This is a 6/0 but it’s a rite angler mutsu and they are similar in size to other 7/0’s
right at the back of the boat.
Men what city do you live? I will go to US this year and i want to fish with you its is possible?
Fishing definitely hasn’t been great out of the 3 times I’ve been out I’ve caught 2 fish. My last trip out I caught a 26” red and a 28” snook it felt amazing to get those fish in the boat. Also I’m just curious do you fish near Tampa Bay or are you on the east coast?
East coast
@@AbenzFishing cool stuff! Any chance you’d make a trip the the Everglades and make a video? Me and my buddies are going there in the next couple months.
@@strykerreid7338 I want to for sure! One day!
Sweep out the leaves in your boat
Truth - anyone who thinks your rod is bent all day is dreaming. My over / under for a “good” day is a catch rate of 1 fish per hour. Now some days you’ll get 6 fish in first 10 mins then nothing for the next 6 hours. Or maybe just one monster all day.
Well said, it’s definitely a grind and the journey is the best part
You can land a whale with 40lb test.......but you are rushing and trying to yank the fish in the boat.......like a bass fisherman at a kill-em-all tournament.......finesse the fish and enjoy the fishing.
Where do you get your bait from when you have no time to catch it yourself? I live in the same area as you.
I always just catch it, I have it pretty dialed by using Sides scan
@@AbenzFishing Okay thanks,, are you catching them all in the river?
@@glennsabat3259 yes
Beast mode
Trying!
What baitcaster is that? Looking for a beefier caster.
Dark matter psychedelic 20-40
@@AbenzFishing I’m sorry, I meant the reel on that rod?
@@thecamocanoe no worries - Shimano Tranx
@@AbenzFishing
Thanks! Appreciate it. Heading to Bass Pro tomorrow to pick up a chart plotter, I’ll check them out while I’m there.
whens the movingweightfishing X Abenz colab coming?
Haha not sure - one day
Or deer meat or blue gabe lol
Is this St. Petersburg???
No

Thanks! I plan on doing more in the near future, heading to the keys, where there is tons of great table fare hiding under those bridges
When learn patience you’ll land more fish
1000%
