Absolutely! Great song, great album, and great band. Queen just did it all didn't they? Thanks again for tuning in Jeff- hope all is well with you! By the way, if you are at all interested in vintage comics, I have another channel called Comic Book Geezers. Check it out!
I don’t think you’ve ever given as many honorable mentions, Pete! A reflection of the extraordinary quality of the Queen catalog. Far from my favorite band, but their entire body of work is an amazing thing!
Yes, I agree, The March Of The Black Queen is no 1. The rest of my top 10: 2. Brighton Rock, 3. My Fairy King, 4. Great King Rat, 5. The Millionaire Waltz, 6. Princes Of The Universe, 7. Keep Yourself Alive, 8. Ogre Battle, 9. Love Of My Life, 10. Somebody To Love. Thanks Pete for your terrific shows. It's always a pleasure to watch and take part of all your knowledge. Keep up the good work. Regards from Sweden!
Brian May was no shredder, but his solos were thought out and melodic -- songs within the songs; and his tone was fluid and instantly identifiable. Queen were not just another band but comprised a unified whole that was genius. There are no bands today that are replacing these types of innovative, sheer genius bands. Rock is dead they say -- long live Rock!
My personal top 10 Queensongs... 10. I Want It All 9. Another One Bites The Dust 8. Dragon Attack 7. Somebody To Love 6. Radio Ga Ga 5. Killer Queen 4. I'm In Love With My Car 3. Death On Two Legs 2. Tie Your Mother Down 1. White Man Honorable Mentions: 11/12. We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions, 13. Bohemian Rhapsody, 14. Hammer To Fall, 15. Under Pressure, 16. You're My Best Friend, 17. The Prophet's Song, 18. Sweet Lady (these songs put together with my top ten, fit on one CD)
Queen was so talented, they could've played everything and anything! I have 9 of their albums and I think I need to buy a few more! My #1 song is "Stone Cold Crazy"! When I first heard the riff and vocals, had to keep listening to it , over and over! Catchy as Hell! Great Video!
I don't think I've ever heard a more eclectic album than News of the World. That record contained everything from punk/metal (Sheer Heart Attack) to jazz/blues (Sleeping on the Sidewalk) to Spanish maraca (Who Needs You), to Piano lounge music (My Melancholy Blues) to the insane weirdness of Get Down Make Love, to Brian May's haunting All Dead, All Dead, not to mention Spread Your Wings -- perhaps the best song bassist John Deacon ever wrote, and Fight From the Inside, a great and heavy Roger Taylor tune... and what band had ever penned a song like We Will Rock You before that, with nothing but stomps, claps and vocals, until that amazing ending riff and solo by Brian May... I was 15 years old when that album came out, and it took me years to process its brilliance and all-encompassing scope, and it remains the Queen album I hold most near and dear to my heart.
News of the World is the beginning of the fall in Queen's catalogue . They wanna demonstrate to play a little this , a little that but in fact doin nothing except WWRY and WATC. The real Queen is on the first 5 albums and not all tracks either
Saw Queen’s 1977 concert at Madison Sq Garden. I clearly remember them doing White Queen, which after considering several close runner ups is my favorite. Prophet Song is up there. Also Now I’m Here. So many great tunes.
Queen was the first band I got into. My buddy and I have squeezed the shit out their discography for nearly 30 years. Very refreshing to hear someone talk about deep album cuts that deserve some recognition.
Love your list. For me: 10. Keep Yourself Alive 9. Tenement Funster 8. Bohemian Rhapsody 7. Another One Bites The Dust 6. Killer Queen 5. Death On Two Legs (Dedicated to...) 4. Now I'm Here 3. Under Pressure 2. Good Company 1. Brighton Rock Queen makes me think of 10cc (sometimes similar vocal layerings), a band I've been geeking on lately. I think they are vastly underrated and ahead of their time. I'm speaking of the early works before Kevin Godley & Lol Creme left. If you haven't lately, immerse yourself in the albums Sheet Music, How Dare You!, and The Original Soundtrack (my favorite albums respectively). G&C's solo work is amazing as well. Brilliant lyrics, production, creative sounds and amazing pop sensibilities. The songs "Oh Effendi", "The Sacro-Iliac", "Silly Love" & "Don't Hang Up" to name a few - "I'm Not In Love" still gets me too.

Queen is probably my favorite band of all time. I couldn't possibly get my list down to 10 songs and, like you said, it's constantly changing. However, one of my favorites has always been White Queen (As It Began). I especially love the live version from A Night At The Odeon. I think I like it more than the original studio recording.

I think the first and second are the best albums from them and then they slightly got worse all the time but all the 70s stuff is legendary. I tried to not care how popular they are for the better or the worse. I tried to be as objective as possible, but in the end its all just an opinion. :)
1. Don't Try So Hard 2. Innuendo 3. The Prophet's Song 4. Princes of the Universe 5. I'm in Love with My Car 6. The Miracle 7. I'm Going Slightly Mad 8. Who Wants to Live Forever 9. Under Pressure 10. The Game

I thought I was the only one with Innuendo as 1st. Don't Stop Me Now would be a very close 2nd for me. I prefer The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke and Fairy King before The March of the Black Queen or The Prophet's Song, though.
Tough one: 10. Sail Away Sweet Sister 9. The March of the Black Queen 8. Spread Your Wings 7. Tie Your Mother Down 6. Killer Queen 5. Fat Bottom Gils 4. It's Late 3. Father To Son 2. '39 1. The Prophet Song

We really are on the same page here Pete. Can't help but agree with your top ten. "It's Late" would be a contender for me, along with "hammer to fall" and "white man" but I love em all. Except "Delilah" oh dear what were they thinking?

"Oh, Rock of ages, do not crumble, love is breathing still. Oh, Lady Moon shine down a little people magic if you will" Brighton Rock is my favorite queen song. Love the guitar symphonies Brian created. He had one of the best sounds ever. And it's one of the more subtle example of Brian's wicked sense of humor.

Great list Pete! Tough to put together for Queen. I’d mention My Fairy Queen off of the first album.... the first precursor to Bo Rhap. Also, Was it All Worth It. Last song on The Miracle Album, which at the time was likely thought to be perhaps the last track on the last Queen album. Has it all and Rocks! Freddie’s energy is awesome!
I have an outfit called Chapter Ten and we do original and covers albums. One single disc and two triple discs all kinds of styles of bands we like. The hardest we ever tackled was Prophet Song, that was me all music and our singer, man i think i had about eight layers of myself vocals and about twenty of our singer, thats before music. Took about three days to complete where most took a few hours.
Keep Yourself Alive- Great King Rat- Now I'm Here- Death on Two Legs- I'm in Love with My Car- You're My Best Friend- Tie You Mother Down- Fight from the Inside- Sheer Heart Attack- Bohemian Rhapsody

I love how queen is bigger now in the usa than they were in second half of the 80s And certainly bigger than big 80s bands in usa like van halen and whitesnake. In the 80s they were bigger in other parts of the world than those 2 and now they are bigger everywhere. Also just look at what young people listen today on spotify (which is biggest music streaming platform worldwide) and you will see that queen has more listeners than any other older rock band, more than stones, zeppelin, pink floyd and the beatles. That just shows you what an amazing, timeless band they are, no other older rock band has been accepted so well by people in their 20s and 30s.
1 Innuendo 2 Tie your mother down 3 Let me entertain you 4 My melancholy blues 5 Was it all worth It 6 I Want It all 7 Stone cold Crazy 8 Bohemian Rhapsody 9 The Millionaire Waltz 10 Hammer to fall

A great list and I bet everyone's Best of Queen list would have more variety than the 'best ofs' for other groups, especially if you limit it to 10 or so. An amazing group that was not typecast-able. Brian May's super cool sounds on Killer Queen was out when I was a wee lad in the 3rd grade...and I've liked 'em ever since. Brian May is one of those guitarists that is easy to pick out along with some others who had a certain style and/or special way they set up their equipment. I've never heard one person ever utter a bad word about his sound...ever! Queen's earlier heavy stuff is truly heavy and they were able to compose and perform 'normal' hard rock, proggy stuff, retro-sounding tunes, and other stuff that I can even pin down the style of. I think if you played "Don't Stop Me Now" at a funeral, there's a chance that the person being memorialized could come back to life just to jam to it. Now, there are a couple of Queen albums and in particularly that I am not a fan of but so what? They were brave enough to try nearly anything.
1 Great King Rat 2 the Prophet Song 3 Liar Tie your Mother Down 5 Somebody to Love 6 Orge Battle 7 It's Late 8 Killer Queen 9 The night come Down 10 Death on two Legs Honorable mention Long Away, Funny how Love is, Now I'm Here Fat Bottom Girls

Love the Top Tens! 1. The Fairy Fellers Master Stroke 2. Love of My Life (Live Killers version) 3. The Prophets Song 4. Ogre Battle 5. Stone Cold Crazy 6. Play The Game 7. Fat Bottomed Girls 8. Hammer To Fall 9. Somebody To Love 10. We Are The Champions/Need Your Love/I Want It All
Too many great songs to choose from. I have seen may great concerts in my life. When people ask what is the one concert you are most thankful to have seen I tell them Queen on the Game tour. I think it was the last time they toured the US.
#10. Death On Two Legs (a blistering introduction to Queen as a child, left a huge impact) #9. If You Can't Beat Em Join Em (criminally overlooked beyond belief, a favorite deep cut) #8. Innuendo (debated making this my #1, until others knocked it from the top) #7. Now I'm Here (another tune that got bumped from my top two, what a song) #6. See What a Fool I've Been (another overlooked gem, incredible song) #5. Somebody To Love (never get tired of this one, an emotional punch in the gut) #4. Keep Yourself Alive (the band interplay, the personality of Freddie, ass-kicking guitar) #3. Another One Bites the Dust (speaks for itself, the best hit single of all time) #2. The Show Must Go On (notice a pattern here... 90's Queen is just phenomenal) #1. Fat Bottomed Girls (this was a no-brainer once I thought about it) Honorable mentions: Bohemian Rhapsody, Under Pressure, Save Me, Hammer To Fall, Tie Your Mother Down, A Kind of Magic, Get Down Make Love, I Want It All, I'm Going Slightly Mad

"The Prophets Song" is so underrated in their catalog - stunning tune & production. My favorite all-time band, hands down.
Absolutely! Great song, great album, and great band. Queen just did it all didn't they? Thanks again for tuning in Jeff- hope all is well with you! By the way, if you are at all interested in vintage comics, I have another channel called Comic Book Geezers. Check it out!
That’s easily my favorite heavy queen song hands down
are you the Jeff young from Megadeth?
Where do you get these ratings from? Please explain.
I don’t think you’ve ever given as many honorable mentions, Pete! A reflection of the extraordinary quality of the Queen catalog. Far from my favorite band, but their entire body of work is an amazing thing!
Their debut album was astonishing in my opinion.
Keep Yourself Alive;Great King Rat;Liar.
Utter quality rock tunes.
A lot of people who listen to the 1st album who've never heard it before are usually shocked at how good it is.
First two albums were the best. Easily
I like it, I just think it's weaker than their other 70s stuff.
Very fair list! Respects from a huge Queen fan! 🤘🏻
A shame how many will never discover the creative rock genius of many of these deeper tracks.
"You Take My Breath Away" would definitely make my top ten. So many great tunes...
My personal top 10 Queensongs...
10. I Want It All
9. Another One Bites The Dust
8. Dragon Attack
7. Somebody To Love
6. Radio Ga Ga
5. Killer Queen
4. I'm In Love With My Car
3. Death On Two Legs
2. Tie Your Mother Down
1. White Man
Honorable Mentions: 11/12.
Don Cambell...very cool listing White man at number one! Their most powerful rocker.
Innuendo??
@@thanksmr.obvious6427 That's my #19. They have so many good songs!
Definitely my favorite - such an amazing collection of songs!
For me:
10. Keep Yourself Alive
9. Tenement Funster
8. Bohemian Rhapsody
7. Another One Bites The Dust
6. Killer Queen
5. Death On Two Legs (Dedicated to...)
4. Now I'm Here
3. Under Pressure
2. Good Company
1. Brighton Rock
Queen makes me think of 10cc (sometimes similar vocal layerings), a band I've been geeking on lately.
Love the Brian May songs: Prophets Song, '39, It's Late.
MBonfire1 all dead, all dead 😌

Queen is probably my favorite band of all time. I couldn't possibly get my list down to 10 songs and, like you said, it's constantly changing. However, one of my favorites has always been White Queen (As It Began). I especially love the live version from A Night At The Odeon. I think I like it more than the original studio recording.
It would be nigh impossible for me to do a top 10 also.

Not my favourite band but top 30 definetly... I think the first and second are the best albums from them and then they slightly got worse all the time but all the 70s stuff is legendary. I tried to not care how popular they are for the better or the worse. I tried to be as objective as possible, but in the end its all just an opinion. :)

8. You Take My Breath Away
9. It's Late
10. The Show Must Go On
There are so many that could sneak into the top 10 at any given time - they just had too many amazing tracks!!
I thought I was the only one with Innuendo as 1st. Don't Stop Me Now would be a very close 2nd for me. I prefer The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke and Fairy King before The March of the Black Queen or The Prophet's Song, though.

Queen II is my favorite album & March Of The Black Queen is definitely one of their best. I have all the Queen albums & they do have so many great songs. Sometimes Queen outmetaled the heavy metal bands. Good list just too many songs to chose top ten for them.Saw them in concert at least 4 times, best live band ever. Keep those lists coming. Take care

Hells Yea... Brighton Rock is my fav Queen song ever... On my fav Queen album. Also big love for Tenement Dunster and Now I'm Here...

Great stuff. The thing with Queen is U can have probably 10 completely different Top 10s. What a band.
Fantastic top 10! couldn't agree more with each one
love your page man!!
The March Of The Black Queen, love it

I love how queen is bigger now in the usa than they were in second half of the 80s
And certainly bigger than big 80s bands in usa like van halen and whitesnake.
1 Innuendo
2 Tie your mother down
3 Let me entertain you
4 My melancholy blues

1. Don’t Try So Hard
