Great job! I own a Uniflite 1972 Sportfishernman that is only 27 ft and I cannot imagine workingon a larger boat. Uniflite was an American treasure! Overbuilt and tough!
I grew up in Bellingham. Spent my youth around the harbor. Used to jump the wakes of the Uniflite's that were factory testing. My middle school job shadow day was with thier naval architect. Nice to see a survivor getting a new lease on life.
Nice! Cool to think you may have seen this one being built or chasing it around the bay! I've always believed these Uni's were worth restoring. They are on par with any boat of the time and rivaled many. Thanks
Amazing video! I am restoring a 1977 Silverton 26' Flybridge and your video has given me a bunch of ideas, thanks! I'm definitely doing the synthetic teak in mine now that I see it done in yours.
Cool! Thanks. I really like the low maintenance , user friendly and good looks. The product I used was made by lonseal. you can check them out at lonseal.com if your interested. 👍
That is an amazing video thank you. We just bought a '74 36' Sedan. We are fixing things on the boat and I enjoyed the information that I gained by watching your process. I look forward to part 2!
Thank's Congratulations on the Uniflite. I hope to get the second half out in 2-3 months as we are getting ready to launch her this spring. I am considering some shorter more detailed video's highlighting specific jobs and how they were done. I'll see how that goes. If you have questions let me know, I will try to answer them. Also, if you haven't already found them, the Uniflite owners and Pacific NW Uniflite owners groups of Facebook is a great community resource. Best of luck!
I am looking forward to some detailed videos. I recently acquired the exact boat that I rescued from sitting and rotting. It needs a lot of work but your videos have been very informative and inspirational. Thanks!
Thanks Norman. Much appreciated. I am looking forward to getting back to her and getting some more videos out. Hopefully better with instruction as well.
That's a really good looking hull. I've seen the brand before but never noticed how good the lines are. Maybe different years or something but this to me looks better than the average Moppie type. The old Chris craft is hard to beat just because of the rarely . Bet she runs dam good.
Thanks Mike. She is one of the few models that had that flared bow and drop sheer. Which to me really makes a difference and also drew me to it. Has that sportfish look. She runs out very well. Hope to get back to her soon and continue some more videos. Thanks for your comments. 👍
Great job! I have watched your vids about a dozen times now. We are restoring, remodeling, repowering our 2nd 34. Would love to meet up and discuss details, we are in the Tacoma Wa area. I also race PIR among others. KJ
Thanks for the kind words. Be careful what you ask for 😅. She is basically finished and was a personal endeavor. However keep an eye out, I am trying to put together more informational videos and how-to's on projects I will be tackling in the future. something more than time laps.
Hi Mike. Sure, I could have fabricated them from 316L, or spent a fortune casting 1 off bronze mounts. But steel in this application should be fine, there is nothing stronger. (mounts are 3/8" thick) What you didn't see in the video was the prep and coating of the mounts. They were acid etched, prepped and two coated with u-pol por15 (not just rattle canned). They will outlast the boat at this point. Provided you aren't grinding the coating off which would be no easy task. Thanks, I appreciate your input.

First time watching this but not the first tine for me doing the same to an 65' Owens that I had. Enjoy. From the CA delta

Just beautiful. All aspects. For me the wiring is #1. reason for me is that's the way I did my Owens.
Bless you for the love and knowledge to keep that vessel alive and well.
Thanks Stephen. She definitely deserves a second chance. This brands quality warrants the work. Much like an old Bertram, Hatteras, or Chris... 👍
Incredible work, the boat looks fantastic 👍
Thank you!

My dad had a '73 34-footer just like your. Great memories.
Very cool! Uni's are legacy quality boats worth saving.
@@GT2Racer I see from your registration # that you are in Oregon. We had our boats, first the 34' and later a 42' Uniflite in Newport. Where are you?

Prepper Life Thanks for the kind remarks. She has been a lot of fun.

Thank you! I did all the restoration work, this was a personnel project. Good luck with your boat.
Steel engine mounting brackets . Bad idea .......bronze or stainless min . 5/16”
